JOINT OPPOSITION IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK
Posted on July 23rd, 2017

By M D P DISSANAYAKE

I am somewhat disappointed  by the article of Mr Charles C Perera’s article, JO in my view is on the right track of forming next government.  Less said is best.  Remember how Mr Sirisena played the game?  No one suspected his moves, no one tapped his phones, emails, no one knows even now how often he met Sambandan and Ranil prior to declaring his candidacy.  No one knows how much $$$ had been thrown around.  No one knows the secret documents signed, except Mr Tissa Attanayake’s revelation, which is increasingly become true.

I firmly believe, some JO members are talking too much, such as Prasanna Ranatunga, Kumara Welagama.  What do we need now:

  1. Prevention of replacement of current Constitution at any cost
  2. Prevention of Mano Ganeshan, Sambandan become Vice Presidents of Sri Lanka

iii.            Prevention of Hybrid Court to punish Rani Viruwo

The JO has worked extremely hard on these issues without much publicity.   Educating and convincing Malawatte, Asgiri, Ramanayya was not an easy task.   The silent partners of JO had worked on the issue of Constitution by providing all hard-core authoritative documents of the Government to the Maha Sanga.

This move by Maha Sanga was taken by surprise by the Government and the Tamil, Muslim mafia.  Move by the NFF of Wimal Weerawansa is also another surprise, in a Chess Game.

What is important at this critical moment is to ensure that all progress forces maintain unity, without being distracted by various strategies by the JO.

Agree with Mr Dissanayake’s views here.
In particular that all “Progress Forces” (may I call them PATRIOTIC FORCES), maintain Unity.

Maha Nayaka theros didn’t buy any views of any politician. They formed it independently. This was stated when Gotabhaya met one of them. He very gently pointed out Dinesh’s statements about contents of the proposed constitution was way off the mark. However, the sad reality is no political party except NFF stands by the Maha Nayaka statement.

Since 2009, Mahinda’s decisions were not well thought after. He didn’t hold the due parliamentary election early. Had he done so, he would have had a 2/3 parliamentary majority of patriots. He had to rely on SLMC, CWC and a few UNPers to get a 2/3. He hired politicians of dubious political affiliation to become chief ministers from his party. Some key chief ministers crossed as expected. Holding the presidential election 2 years ahead was another bad decision. Considering all these, I’m not very comfortable with Mahinda’s decisions. The problem is he is advised by the wrong crowd.

Rajapaksas cannot play the game played by Sirisena. Until the last moment, Sirisena was not known to contest. Everyone knows either Basil or Gotabhaya will contest the 2019 presidential election.

Unlike Tamil and Muslim voters, Sinhala voters don’t unify just for the sake of ethnic unity. They look for policy to unify. Absence of a well publicised policy means division. Voters are the masters, politicians are servants. Keeping masters in the dark over policy (not just Sirisena or Karu or Siripala) is not a good strategy of the servants.

    Charles,

A few days ago AFTER the NFF led by Wimal Weerawansa left the Constitutional Assembly, MR held an emergency meeting of the JO to discuss the corresponding JO strategy on the issue.

After the meeting was held, he told the media that the remaining JO members would remain within the Constitutional Assembly while the NFF-part of the JO leaves it. The overall strategy is to attack and prevent the passage of the New Constitution from both without and within the Constitutional Assembly. He said that they agreed not to fosclose their strategy more than that.

Like you, I called for the JO to leave he Constitutional Assembly. But perhaps, as MR says, a better strategy is to attack it from both inside and outside the Assembly, without allowing the Yamapalanaya FREE REIN to do whatever they please without any OVERSIGHT, depending SOLELY on OPPOSITION from outside and reliance on a referendum which may or may not be held as the Yamapalanaya decides. By leaving the Assembly, the JO would be BLIND to the maneuvering of the DESHA-DROHI ROOKADA Yamapalanaya that CANNOT BE TRUSTED on anything.

MR also said that 17 SLFP-Sirisena MP’s would LEAVE the goverment and he even laughingly said that as many as HALF of the Sinhala-Buddhist UNP MP’s may also DEFECT!

The latter may be a pie-in-the-sky FOND HOPE of MR, but he knows far more than I of the INTENSE horse-trading that is going on right now to engineer the DEMISE of the Yamapalanaya!

All I can do is to PRAY for the TRIVIDARATNAYA to HELP THE PATRIOTIC FORCES of Sri Lanka to OUST this DESHADROHI WADA-BARI PARA-GATHI ROOKADA Yamapalana government IMMEDIATELY before they can execute their plans to DESTROY our Motherland!

MDP, you and me both have the same view regarding JO and I think most of the supporters of the JO think the same. Charles not wrong at anytime but because he is a die hard supporter of the JO and a patriot he is worried about the future of our Motherland and the JO’s slow motion actions. Anyway we should keep faith on JO and work hard to topple this irresponsible Ali Baba government from power. Dirty work done by Yamapalanaya clique must be exposed and explain to ordinary people in detail so that people will understand about these Yamapalanaya thieves and how much money they have robbed from the public in this country. People should know more about the central bank daylight robbery from A to Z. Should not allow anyone involved in this to escape. I hope JO will fight very strongly to counter the UNP lies. Ranil and Sira must be brought to justice for all the crimes which their government was involved. Let’s support JO from our hearts and wish them good luck in the future.

It is amzing how people with brains rely on 1 man to run the country correctly , without any written document or a statement.
Sirisena/Ranil came to power using lies and lies and the governement has become ‘JadaPalanaya’.
Sirisena’s method may work for any other but will not work for the country.
We need open and honest , staright leader who doesn’t rely on lies to come to power. Otherwise I gurantee it will be another ‘Jadapalanaya’, even worse than this, although old names are heding the list.

Very simple question is why can’t they take the very rare lead given by Mahasangha – remove 13A ?
Because they are a dishonest bucnch who want 13A.

JOINT OPPOSITION IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK- Agreed, Right track to Eelam war V !

  7. Fran Diaz Says:

Almost all the mischief from the Yahap crowd began with the Central Bank Scam.

Watch the Central Bank activities carefully.

Countries are toppled through the Money System mess up.

Who is really in charge of the Central Bank of Lanka ? Gov Indrajit Coomaraswamy or Ranil or the Treasury boss ?
