COVID: 926 new infections move daily total to 1,896

The Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry reports that another 926 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Sri Lanka, moving the daily total of new cases to 1,896.

According to the Government Information Department, 1,890 of the new cases reported today are associated with the New Year coronavirus cluster. Meanwhile, the remaining 06 were identified as arrivals from foreign countries.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus reported in the country to 123,234.

As many as 103,098 recoveries and 786 deaths have been confirmed in Sri Lanka since the outbreak of the pandemic.

Epidemiology Unit’s data showed that 19,350 active cases are currently under medical care.
