   A TV advertisement that comes up regularly in a national TV channel calls for applicants for housemaids to come to Kurunegala with or without passports for departure in less than sevendays. This is a Sinhala heartland and to me it looks like a ploy to disrupt the family life of Sinhalas, thereby effectively reducing their poulation.
   A couple of days ago I read in a Sinhala news paper the story of a ten year old girl struggling to look after two younger siblings when her mother left for middle east and father became a drunkard neglecting the children. She went to school carrying the youngest sister, put her to sleep in a corner of the class room and did her term test paper.
   What is so special about Sinhala women?. To me they are less efficient and less sophisticated than Philipenas and Indonesians. Yet they have a higher demand. Our politicians should open their eyes and see what is going to happen.
