Dear Your Excellency, Mahinda Rajapakse, President of The Republic of Sri Lanka.

It is with great deference that I speak out my mind to you. I implore your Excellency to give me thy ear. I do not have to be a Presidential Advisor, to convey some thoughts, about the 13th Ammendment repeal, and of the dissolution of the Provincial Councils. I firmly believe that my thoughts are SYMBOLIC of the feelings of thousands and millions of Sri Lankans, who want the 13th ammendment repealed, and the Provincial Councils dissolved. This is an innate feeling of all Sri Lankans to stop the fragmentation of beautiful Sri Lanka, and to avert a travesty of justice to the dedicated Ranviruvos whom we all used as a stepping stone to live peaceful lives. Let us not jeopardise their sacrifices, let us not forget those who gave their life and limb, for you and all of usƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to live such a peaceful life.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ IT IS THE POOR RANVIRUVOS, THAT HAVE GIVEN THE POLITICIANS A LUXURY WAY OF LIFE. THEY SHOULD NOT FORGET THIS FOR A MOMENT.

I see in the media that you are mulling to dissolve the Central and North Central Provincial Councils. Also I see in the media that the Parliament is to enact legislation, to deprive “YOU”,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the President, of powers, to allowƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  one or more Provinces to merge together. This is the mother of all BLUFFS. Why do you have to put the arm behind your head to reach the Nose? This brings a resentful smile on peoples faces. A resentful smile that brings your Presidential Rating sliding down. This will not work Mr. President. This is self ridicule.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Living in self denial.

Let us not be afraid of the Beeeeeg TNA Delegation that went to India to sell their Mother. India alwaysƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ SOBS.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  TNA,s DEATH WISH is to decimate the balance low caste TAMILS, in a bloody confontation.

So Your Excellency, let us not procrastinate SURGERY. Your Primary Care Physicians in Parliament have miserably ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ failed to cure the cancerous 13th ammendment patient. So let the beautiful people of Sri Lanka, perform Surgery by way of a REFERENDUM.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  They will anesthetize the 13th Ammendment Patient, so as to feel no pain. I will not rule out the possibility of a Surgical Mis-adventure.

Indian Doctors, along with the TNA ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ may be allowed to perform Last Rites.

MR. PRESIDENT !!!ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  NOTHING SHORT OF A REFERENDUM.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  PLEASE, NO MISTAKES.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  NOW OR NEVER.

    Well said brother!

You may also send this to THE PRESIDENT’S OFFICE and his secretary LALITH too.

I forgive you for using some terms I will not use in a letter to the president. But it shows the TRUE FEELINGS of MOST SLs. There is NO TIME for cover ups, mollycoddlings and other nonsense. That time has PASSED.

Now we face DIVISION of the country, Tamil Madu extention, wipe out of Buddhism and IMPOSITION of Hindutva on SL. We should not hesitate.

LORENZO !! President has tremendous clout. There is nobody who could match him. Not as far as I can see on the horizon. We have to keep him. We have to awaken him. My rhetoric means no malice.

REFERENDUM ! that is our third step !!!to our lasting solution !

  6. Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

LORENZO !! when I referred to ‘ their Mother ‘ I referred to Mother Lanka. It was never intended to be surmised as a pun.

  7. Mr. Bernard Wijeyasingha Says:

Vox populi Vox dei “The voice of the people is the voice of God”. Not literally but in conotates the power of the people and the majority do not want the implementation of the 13th amendment. President Rajapakse is powerful but without the people’s support he could lose his power. Decisions, Amendments that have far reaching effects on a nation have to be determined by that nation and not by any foreign entity. The 13th amendment was drawn by India and Sri Lanka during a time of war and when India was fully supporting the Tamil Tigers. This would mean that the 13th amendment was meant to empower those who wanted to divide the nation. India should not have any rights in the internal process of nation building. That is for the people of Sri Lanka to decide.

Suantha W, & many others like LORENZO……….we all write, express our views, as we are very concerned what is happening to our Motherland.

I myslef, write because I am in no position to travel these days. The best I can do is write, awaken our people in Lanka & abroad, like the expats…to UNITE & go & see our president. Ofourse we must ask for a hour or so of his valuable time for our citizens mainly expats to suggest, advice & give moral support to our President, as SW said is the ONLY person who can do this.

After all he has been a parlimentarian & public servant for last 43 years. What an unblemished record, If I remember correct last Prime Minister of Canada~ Mr. Jean Chretian is the only one who can even come close to what our President’s record.

He spoke in English & French, but nobody understood a word he said, YET they ended up voting for him many times with absolute majorities……A person can sell HOPE & get elected, BUT President has done much more.

IT IS GOOD TIME TO ARRANGE A MEETING with his Excellency Mahinda Rahjapakse, and explain your SOLUTIONS to the crisis in Sri Lanka. Mind you, people with legal expertise & solutions to the point, concise & effective so that in 60 minutes or so, YOU ALL selected people will be able to convince our President to act.

If Sinhalese Diaspora ALONE supports these initiatives, in case OTHER Sri Lankans are hesitent, EVEN that would give some impetus for our President to act. SO please DO NOT procrastinate, contact even the writers to LANKAWEB, who have expressed willingness to undertake this journey would suffice.

We are running out of time, because TNA has already beaten us by running to India, who sits in a corner & watches how their plan is destoying our Motherland.

Thanks all!!.. Please get everyone who are prepared to suggest meaningful solutions & make that trip soon.

    As I said, I can only write & suggest…..being a retd person…..BEST OF LUCK TO ALL ~ J

A Petition to STRIP LAND & POLICE POWERS from the PCS is GOOD, but a Petition to STRIP the 13th Amendment from Sri Lanka’s Constitution is ESSENTIAL & MUCH BETTER!
    …………………..
Petition with million signatures to strip land and police powers to PCs handed over to Sri Lankan President

    ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

June 18, Colombo: A petition with signatures of million people against holding the Northern Provincial Council election without amending the land and police powers was handed over to the Sri Lankan President today.

The National Freedom Front led by Minister Wimal Weerawansa earlier this month launched an island wide campaign to collect million signatures against vesting land and police powers to the provincial councils under the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.

The campaign began in Anuradhapura on June 6th and traversed the country collecting signatures.

Minister Wimal Weerawansa, Deputy Minister Weerakumara Dissanayake, Politburo Member Piyasiri Wijenayake and other members of the NFF were present at the occasion.
