‘Sri Lankan Patriot’

This Hudson MaClean (whatever his real name is) it seems is spreading lies and propaganda on behalf of the RW/Ravi K/ Mangala/ CBK/ MS/ JVP/ TNA/ LTTE / SF /Champika/ Rathana Ashuddha Hawula.

During the previous election time, the entire private media in the country, which is owned by UNP or LTTE supporters, was spreading lies about Mahnida Rajapakshe, full time. This is how they won the election. Why is Hudson MaClean continuing the same? At that time, Mahinda Rajapakshe and the UPFA at least had the state media on their side. However now, even the state media is in the hands of the ashuddha hawula. There is no one to defend the national cause anymore. It is therefore imperative that national minded forces give voice only to those who want to defend the sovereignty, independence, unitary status and freedom of Sri Lanka at this crucial juncture when the TNA and the LTTE along with the US, India, UK, EU and Canada are trying to dismember Sri Lanka.

This Hudson MaClean says that Mahinda Rajapakshe only gave space to his family and did not appoint the right person to do the appropriate job (sudussata sudusu thena dunne nehe). This is utter nonsense in once sense. Does not mean everything Mahinada Rajapakshe did was correct. However was Prof G.L. Peiris not made the foreign minister, a very important post? Was ambassador posts not given to professors like Prof. Hangewatta who was ambassador to France? Were not people like Dr.Palitha Kohonna, Ambassedor Aziz, Ms Kunanayagam not sent to the UN to represent Sri Lanka? Did Mahinda Rajapakshe not invite an Australian Sri Lankan to head the all important Sri Lanka Telecom? Was not the SLPA chairman appointed by Mahinda Rajapakshe a fully qualified and experienced engineer very much suitable for the job? Was not even Maitreepala Sirisna not made the Health Minister (here I would say this was an inappropriate appointment since Maitree only has just A levels and was a Grama Niladhari, someone completely unsuitable to become the Health Minister of a country). Was Sarath Fonseka not given the Head of the Army post by Mahinda Rajapakshe? Was not people like Mohan Peiris, Shirani Bandaranayake not appointed as Chief Justices by Mahinada Rajapakshe?

The problem is not that Mahinda Rajapakshe did not appoint the right person to do the appropriate job (sudussata sudusu thena), the problem is that there is a lack of professionals or a shortage of professionals in Sri Lanka to appoint for these posts. Why? Because due to the extremely dushta UNP rule from 1977-1994 and due to the war 1983-2009, many professionals have left for sunnier climes or greener pastures or gone to work in the Middle East, Singapore, Malaysia and the like. This is the real reason that there is a lack of professionals to take up demanding posts in Sri Lanka. However things started improving since the end of the war in 2009 and was getting much better until the people of Sri Lanka made the colossal mistake of bringing to power this RW/Ravi K/ Mangala/ CBK/ MS/ JVP/ TNA/ LTTE / SF /Champika/ Rathana ashuddha hawula.

I would like to ask Hudson MaClean is a person with only A levels who was a Grama Niladhari and who does not even have a degree the right person to be the president of Sri Lanka, a country with so many degree holders?! Sri Lankans must be the stupidest people on earth! Is the chaura rajina CBK not corrupt to the core? Where did she get the money to buy a mansion in the UK from? Is the so called finance minister Ravi K not a crook if there is a court case accusing him of receiving bribes worth US $ 363 mn? or so from a businessman arrested for fraud in the US who had links with the LTTE? Is Mangala Samaraweera the so called foreign minister not an LTTE apologist as is RW/CBK/TNA/JVP? Is Mangala and the rest not agents of the US/EU/UK/Canada and India and hell bent on carving out an Eelam on their behalf and destroy the rights of the people of Sri Lanka in particular the Sinhala Buddhists, Catholics, Muslims (all of whom were thrown out of the North by the megalomaniac Proabhakaran not so long ago) and even right thinking peace loving Tamils to call all parts of Sri Lanka their homeland inclusive of the North and the East and to live freely in all parts of the island inclusive of the North and the East? In short to, safeguard the unitary status of the country? Are not all the people of Sri Lanka not inhabitants of all parts of this island inclusive of the North and the East and in particular the Sinhalese whose ancestors have inhabited this island for over 2,500 years and more? The Govt should have the backbone to tell the US/EU/UK/India/Canada that Sri Lanka is one country and to stay away from our affairs. Is Maitreepala Sirisena such a person with a backbone to say as such? No he is a backboneless invertebrate.

Is the brother of Maitreepala Sirisena the right person to head an important profit making organisation such as Sri Lanka Telecom? So have the right people being appointed to take up the right positions by the Government or has positions being given to family members and UNP henchaiyas? I think the answer is clear.

Has not the naval cordon in the North being lifted, as the US wants, even before one month of this Government is up, thus opening our Northern seas to be hoovered out of fish by illegal fishing in the Northern waters by Indian fishermen and other illegal activities such as smuggling and worse? Is this not a breach of national security? Should not all our borders i.e. the maritime border in particular not be patrolled by the navy at all times? Should not the army be stationed in the North for as long as the army feels there is a need for them to be there? Are there not army camps in all other parts of the country, in all other districts of the country? Yes. So there should be army camps in the North too at all times just like in all other parts of the country including Colombo District even!

    PRESS RELEASE

Members of the current government are continuing to make faslse and misleading allegations regarding me.
I believe it is necessary to respond to these charges to prevent the public from being misled.

In a recent Rupavahini program, it was reported that a sum of Rs. 100 bilion allocated for 2015 to the Presidential Secretariat by my government was reduced by the new government to Rs 27.2 billion, and that the balance was released to provide assistance to the public. I would like to categorically state that at no time did I allocate a sum of Rs. 100 billion to the Presidential Secretariat. The full funds allocated to the Presidential Secretariat for 2015 was Rs. 95.9 biliion. There were 25 government departments, including the National Salaries Commission and National Maritime Committee, operating under the direction of the Presidential Secretariat. The expenses of the previous Presidents and their families also fall under the purview of the Presidential Secretariat. The Executive and Administrative departments of the Presidential Secretariat provided all the services, and the most of the funds, necessary to maintain these departments. Therefore, all of the funds allocated to the Presidential Secretariat do not go towards mainitaining itself.

The total funds budgeted for maintaining the President’s Office in 2015 was Rs. 37.5 billion. This amount is only a part of the expenses of the Presidential Secretariat. Of this President’s Office budget, Rs. 10 billion was allocated to the assistance provided by the President’s Office to Small Enterprises and Projects throughout the island. When this amount is deducted from the total, the budget of the President’s Office is reduced to Rs. 27.5 billion. Therefore, the amount mentioned as being allocated as the budget of the new President’s Office is this amount.

Another story related by some is that USD 16 million in public funds was spent to order a special plane for my use, and that the new government has refused to take delivery of it, and has made arrangements for new owners to assume responsibility. I hereby state that no special aircraft was ever ordered for my use. While Sri Lankan Airlines was arranging to buy new aircraft for its own use from the Airbus Corporation, they had arranged to obtain a kit to remove some regular seats and convert that space into a special compartment to accommodate VIPs as needed, and had instructed their accountant to cost it as an option. The USD 15 million that was mentioned was the manufacturer’s estimated cost of this facility. It was an option that was to be provided free-of-cost.

There is also an allegation that I have built official Presidential residences at various locations throughout the country for my reacreational use. The President’s residences at the Temple Trees, in Colombo Fort, as well as the existing residences in Nuwara Eliya and Mahanuwara, have existed from Colonial times, and were used by the government leaders of this country. The Presidential residences in Anuradhapura, Embilipitiya and Mahiyangana were built by President R. Premadasa. I must point out that none of these President’s residences were built during the tenure of my government. It was reported recently that the Temple Trees and Colombo Fort President’s residences would be opened for public viewing. We must recall that while I was living at Temple Trees, thousands of school children and elders came to tour this Presidential residence. While I enjoyed the opportunity this afforded to talk with them, I also used the opportunity to learn from them the development needs in various parts of the country. Furthermore, thousands of citizens participated in my Poya day activties at the Temple Trees President’s residence.

A report was published that some vehicles belonging to the Presidential Secrretariat have still not been returned. It was reported that 22 Defender Jeeps were “found” in Borella, and that 53 vehicles were found to have been abandoned in a land in Colombo, Pettah. The places where these vehicles were found are the official storage parking lots belonging to the Presidential Secretariat. These vehicles were found where they were supposed to be. Many of the vehicles found in Pettah were high security vehicles from the 1980’s decade, that could not be auctioned off according to routine operating procedures. I myself have handed over per regulations all of the vehicles used by my Office. The assignments of remaining vehicles allocated to various officials and departments of the Presidential Secretariat can be found in the vehicle records of the Presidetial Secretariat.

  2. Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

    SLP !!!

AN INNATE, TRUE FEELINGS OF A PATRIOT. The list can go on and on.

In Sri Lanka, an ACADEMIC Qualification, is not called for, or not even thought of as essential, to be a POLITICIAN, because 90% of the Ruling Politicians are not educated, and do not have Academic Qualifications. I remember, even a Barber was a self appointed Authority on Human Rights. They can only talk the Hind Legs off a Donkey. So may I ask, who is the AUTHORITY to promulgate and bring enactments in Parliament, to seek Qualifications to be a Member of Parliament, to be a Minister, or to be a Chairman, CEO of any top Government Establishment, or Institution. ?

This will never, never happen, particularly under todays circumstances. If the Minister Of Health did not have the requisite qualification to be the Minister of Health, and it is the same Minister who became The President of Sri Lanka, who on earth is going to promulgate and bring enactments in Parliament, to insist on varied Academic Qualifications, for MPs, Ministers, CEOs of Government and State Institutions, and most of all, The President of the Country.? ? Who will ” Bell the Cat ” or who will catch the ”Bull by the Horns ” ? NOBODY. NOBODY. There has to be a down-right Military Coup for this to ever happen. Why ? Because all Forces Personnel has to have Qualification to get into the Forces. So they are the only people who can turn tables and enact the necessary LAWS. Iam not suggesting such, but it is the only way to insist on Qualifications for Politicians. I repeat, Iam not suggesting a Coup, but only pointing out the alternative to bring academics into GOVERNANCE.

The lack of EDUCATION, should NOT be the CRITERIA, to sell the Motherland, SRI LANKA, in bit and pieces to different Countries, because of the lack of VISION, arising out of the lack of Academic Qualifications. Patriotism is not enough, GRIT AND DETERMINATION TO SAFEGUARD MOTHER LANKA IS A MUST, with tremendous foresight and vision. Not to hang onto Power for Super Luxury Living. Who has declared Assets as a Politician ? I have not seen any. It must be public knowledge. I can go on and on.

As democrats shall we respect the people’s choice.

  4. Independent Says:

In defence of the Prof. MClean , a long time supporter of Sir Lanka, I must insist that he is not “spreading lies”, that statement it self is THE LIE.

He is an ardent supporter of ex-president, this “patriot” should read all his writing over many years before jumping to conclusions.
In fact he has been more critical of new president than the previous one.

  5. Independent Says:

“I would like to ask Hudson MaClean is a person with only A levels who was a Grama Niladhari and who does not even have a degree the right person to be the president of Sri Lanka, a country with so many degree holders?! ”

A degree is nothing these days. Famous Australian ex-Prime Minister Paul Keating has pioneered better policies than his more educated predecessors and successors. He left school after Grade 10, not even O/L standard.

What education ex-president have ? May I ask. He too has done great service to motherland.
He too had O/L only and worked as a clerk at Vidyodaya . At a later stage , with the help of some ministers, he managed to enter law college and thanks to another good gentleman he earned some practical training too. That is all. He , however beat all others than those “Barristers” , Oxford, Cambridge educated elite.

He later succumbed to desires as Radha explained. People voted against him, we should accept it and move on.

    What a curious statement!!

So, are you saying that MR has only O/L, but not A/L, whereas most who enter Law College generally both? That is indeed unusual!

But, I hope you are not saying that working as a clerk at Vidyodaya is a negative thing! Most people need to work to earn a living!

Also, if indeed he got a degree in Law from the Law College, then HE HAS MET the requirements of that degree even if he did not have the A/L training. That is indeed creditable.

So, what exactly is your problem with MR, now that you accept he is a degreed lawyer who has satisfied the academic requirements of the legal profession ?

  7. Independent Says:

    Ananda,
Current BASL president has 4Fs in A/L. No one knows that better.

Those day LLB (law degree) was awarded to Colombo Uni grads. ( For eg , Shirani B). Law college was not awarding degrees.

I have clearly said my problem is insulting people for not having degrees, not the other way around. So what is your problem ?

  8. ranjit Says:

Even a Baiya can be a President now. That opportunity was given by none other than Mahinda Rajapksa as he too was a Baiya from the village. UNP was never a party for the poor. They were darlings of the west. For every issue they run to the west to inform and get advise. In last election the Americans managed to bring the Colombo seven couple (CBK/RW ) back to power by a coup which is a known fact.

What ever lies they spread about our Sinhale Sinhaya no one can just put him to a side or throw him to the Garbage. He is a hero to millions.People appreciate what he has done to this land. Millions of children love this man for what he did to the children’s education. He had a vision not like these UNP thugs who go around the country and arresting and harassing innocent people like Hitler’s secret Army Gestapo. We have to protect this man from any harm. He is the leader for us yesterday, today and tomorrow.

  9. Independent Says:

    ranjt,
“That opportunity was given by none other than Mahinda Rajapksa ” – Not true. You are turning everything you can think of instantly to praise ex-president and condemn , insult everyone of UNP and new president.

Mahinda was more educated than R. Premadasa who is not only a Baiya but also from a much poorer family than your pretending to be Baiya whose family is daman rich.

Sri Lankan Patriot, your absolutely right when you called Professor Hudson Mc. Lean a fictitious character. This is a disinformation syndicate. I proved it five years ago. This syndicate has the following dis-info: 1. I am an accountant. 2. I have worked with Pramadase when he was a municipal member. 3. I wrote English speeches for Pramadase. 4. I am a Burger form a tea estate family. 5. My family is still in Sri Lanka and owns tea estates. He insults JR and MR in a settle way the reader is Make-Believe he is always right. When he wrote that he is an accountant and published in the Lanka web, I went to the British Accounting certification authorities, all the replies I got was there is no such person. I then published an article on the (OLD) Lanka Web, five years ago. He never replied it. 6. There is a professor Hudson Mac. Lean living in California, I sent an e-mail to him and his reply was that he never even had travelled to Sri Lanka as a tourist. He was faster sleep from 2007 to the election day and woke up as soon as the election was called. Can Mr. Patriot, can you see my proof?

  14. Mr. Bernard Wijeyasingha Says:

What is so hypocritical is that India has never been charged for human rights violations while Sri Lanka who fought the Indian sponsored Tamil Tigers for 30 years and won earning her military the singular reputation of being the ONLY military in the world to have waged an war with no break for 30 years against such terrorism and won.

This makes the military of Sri Lanka one of the world’s most seasoned. No other military of the modern era has fought for so long against a foe such as the Tamil Tigers and won while sustaining the highest standard of living in South Asia. On the other hand India has:
-violated human rights on a massive scale in Kashmir where her military has done acts so horrendous they are within the scope of crimes against humanity.
-violated human rights on a massive scale against the North East States (including the Naga, bodo and other tribes) again where her military committed acts that decimated an estimated 30 thousand people.
-Under Operation Blue Star India’s military committed acts of extreme violence against the Khalistan Sikhs in the holy city of Amritsar and in the Golden Temple. that was in phase 1. in phase 2 they attacked and killed Sikh civilians who came to the scene.
-Under Operation Polo the Indian army brutally annexed the Kingdom of Hyderabad. It is estimated that over 200 thousand people died in that operation. Please Google “Operation Polo”
-Under Indira Gandhi Sikkim was annexed. the Indian military entered the palace and arrested the royal family. It was more a military coup than a Sikkim “voting” to give up her identity and sovereignty to a nation that is alien to her.

These are some of the actions of India’s military and do not even include the massive human rights done

-when Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her own two Sikh guards. That resulted in a carnage against the Sikhs
-When a train in Gujarat was set aflame (as one aspect states. another states a lighted stove caused the fire) killing around 160 women and children. This then was used under the governance of Narendra Modi to do a pogrom on the Gujarati Muslims killing up to 5 thousand.

The ugliness of this is India is Sri Lanka’s neighbor, cultural partner and claims to be the world’s largest functioning Democracy, yet the UNHRC to the US turn a blind eye to the atrocities committed by India but are more than willing to drag Sri Lanka which is the oldest Democracy in Asia, through the hot coals on a one sided issue.
