How Chandrika Won the War – Under Chandrika Rule Parabakaran Became 48th Most Powerful Asian Ahead of Her!

Chandrika claiming credit for war is both hilarious and malicious. It is a tragicomedy. During her term the LTTE leader Parabakaran was recognized by the Asiaweek magazine as Asia’s 48th most powerful person. Interestingly Chandrika was ranked 49th. Such is her record of winning the war!

The Asiaweek volume was published in June 2000 just two months after the Elephant Pass debacle. It caused humiliation to Chandrika’s ego. Media outlets were banned from publishing news and journalists suffered during this time. Ajith Rohana was killed around this time after exposing her and her prominent media advisor. Mylvaganam Nimalrajan, a journalist for the Virakesari newspaper, was shot dead at his home in Jaffna within months.

The Asia Power 50 list of 2000 can be found here which was banned in Sri Lanka by the Chandrika administration.

Unashamedly Chandrika started writing secret letters to the LTTE leader around this time to introduce Norway as mediator in war and sham peace that followed.

Chandrika survives on people’s short memories. She must be reminded of her series of debacles that lost the war. By the time she left office in 2005 thanks to a Supreme Court decision, one fourth of the country was directly or indirectly ruled by the LTTE. If she calls this winning the war, she must get her head examined.

  1. Independent Says:

No point trying to show Chandrika’s past. People know it. They reject it outright. They don’t vote for her.

  2. SA Kumar Says:

I can not believed how they change our president first lady from former Kiramar servaka wife to Sinhala model women in Bhutanese Prime Minister visiting ceremony !

my head is spinning ( thalaya suththuthu )

  3. Ancient Sinhalaya Says:

She is a corrupt, pea-brained, 4 legged creature.
Nobody believes these stories except her.

Patriotic Sri Lankans thought they will never see this old fart.
But she managed resurface thanks to traitor Sinhalese
who voted for this gava palanaya.

They managed to beat what MR alleged to have done in 10 years in
one day with CB bond issue.
Still they talk about corruption. Traitor lot!

  4. Fran Diaz Says:

CBK has suffered much with politics. She is not suited for the role. It is more than probable that her family background pushed her into politics, and not talent for fair leadership in greatly troubled times (Cold War tiems). The loss of her father and husband to political assassinations have exacerbated her unsuitability for the role as it is more than probable that she is emotionally biased and even disturbed emotionally to make fair judgement of complex situations. I am personally sorry for her but it is hard to forgive the damage she continues to do to the people of Lanka.
