One-time JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe yesterday quit the party, accusing the present leadership of deviating from Marxist path.
Amarasinghe said that he had been deeply disappointed at the new developments and the failure on the part of the JVP to achieve its objective in spite of favourable political conditions.Amarasinghe said that the party had prevented him from quitting though he wanted to part ways some time back.

We sincerely hope that JVP with or without Somawansa will be a thing of the past and only a ugly memory of a terrorist outfit – jackals in sheeps clothing.

I agree with Ratanapala. JVP went to courts to reverse CBK’s Tsunami project when Weerawansa was in the party. They cry so much for the country, but never supported MR’s efforts to eradicate LTTE terrorism from the land. Anura Kumara’s assignment from his Western paymasters was to run down Rajapakse clan. Now he has fulfilled his obligation, he is promoted to an unconstitutional Executive Committee above the parliament. The man who was talking so much about corruption hasn’t got anything to show.
These are bigger enemies to the nation than Modi, Cameron and Kerry.
