Dr. Sir Ifthikar Ayaz met Sri Lankan Parliament Speaker – A Report.

 Chairman, Ahmadiyya International Human Rights Committee (AIHRC) Dr. Sir Ifthikar Ayaz met the Speaker Honorable Karu Jeyasuriya at his office in Parliament Complex on Friday – the 16th October, 2015.

Sir Ayaz had a very useful and productive meeting on the state of Human Rights in the region and the rest of the world with the Speaker Honorable Karu Jeyasuriya.

Chairman, AIHRC said: status of human rights in Sri Lanka has been improved and the new Government is doing a great deal for the unification of all section in the nation. A commendable example for the rest of the world, the Chairman observed.

He also brought the attention of the Speaker to the plight of asylum-seekers in Sri Lanka and the countries of region. Referring to Sri Lankans seeking asylum in other countries, Chairman, AIHRC said, as the peace and harmony exist in this beautiful Island, there is no need for any Sri Lankans to go anywhere. What really needed is, all people must support the Government for a peaceful, harmonious, prosperous Sri Lanka.

The Speaker assured that all religions were treated with respect and dignity and there will be no discrimination between any faiths in any kind.

Chairman, AIHRC stated that his Community – Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is striving hard all over the world to bring peace and avert the threat of another World War. He further said: The Supreme Head of the Ahmadyyya Muslim Community has travelled to all the major countries of the world and encouraging politicians and governments to take the path of dialogue and reconciliation to resolve the conflicts.

The Speaker was presented the copy of addresses of the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community ‘The World Crisis and the Path Way to Peace’. The Speaker was also presented the book ‘Life of Muhammad’, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who was the Founder of the religion of peace.

Sir Ayaz was accompanied by Mr. A.H. Nasir Ahmad, National President, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at – Sri Lanka, Mr. M.A. Anis Ahmad, National Vice-President (AMJSL) and Mr. S.A. Tariq.

On 13 October, the Speaker was donated the copy of Sinhala Translation of the Holy Qur’an by another delegation of Sri Lanka Ahmadiyya Muslim Community at Parliament Complex.
