Quran Sinhala Translation gifted to Opposition Leader of Sri Lanka

A three member delegation led by Mr. A.H. Nasir Ahmad – National President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Sri Lanka (AMJSL) met Honorable. R. Sampanthan, M.P., Leader of the Opposition, at Parliament Complex, Sri Jeyawardenapura, Kotte on 9 December 2015
Welcomed the delegation, the Opposition Leader showed his attention towards the brief introduction about the Community put forward by Mr. Anis Ahmad, National Vice President (AMJSL). Mr. A.H. Nasir Ahmad briefed about the Holy Qur’an translations being done by World-wide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and pointed out that the Community had translated this Holy Book into 76 languages world over. The Opposition Leader commended this noble task and said he accepts this gift with utmost gratitude.
Mr. A. Abdul Aziz, Press Secretary (AMJSL) pointed out about the unique feature of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and said that this is the only Community which has Spiritual Leadership and termed as ONE COMMUNITY – ONE LEADER’. He added that the Community’s motto is ’LOVE FOR ALL; HATRED FOR NONE’.
The Opposition Leader was also told about the tireless efforts being made by the Khalifa and the Ahmadiyya worldwide leader, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, by spreading the true teachings of Islam through various means, particularly addressing lawmakers at Capitol Hill, EU Parliament, in Ireland Parliament, and recently the Dutch Parliament. He was informed about the gist of His Holiness’ address during the recent Dutch Parliament visit.
A copy of the Sinhala Translation of the Holy Qur’an with some other literatureS including Peace Messages in English as well as Sinhala were presented. He was also presented the copy of addresses of the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community ‘The World Crisis and the Path Way to Peace’ and the Sinhala Translation of the book ‘The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam’ written by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam ahmad – Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the Promised Messiah and Imam-al-Mahdi.
