Avant-Garde security firm to sue Sri Lanka Navy for Rs. 2.5 billion

Avant Garde private security firm has sent a letter of demand to Sri Lanka Navy demanding Rs. 2.5 billion.
President’s Counsel Kuvera de Zoysa representing the company made this revelation before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Large Scale Corruption and Abuse of Power (PRECIFAC).
The security firm has alleged that the Navy action was in violation of the agreements entered between Avant-Garde and Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Ltd.
Avant-Garde in the letter of demand has said that the though the Galle floating armory was intended to be run and continued as a part of the joint venture between State-owned Rakna Arakshaka Lanka and Avant-Garde till 2019, by the unlawful take over on 13 November 2015 by the Sri Lankan Navy, serious losses and damages has been caused to Avant-Garde, and in the event this amount is not paid, Avant-Garde is to file legal action to recover the said sum of money.
The security firm has taken action after the government ordered the Navy to take over the maritime security operations of Avant Garde.
He said a copy of the letter of demand had already been sent to the Attorney General’s Department. The move came after the government ordered the Navy take over operations of Avant Garde company on the maritime security front.

Avant Garde should join up with all the other wrongfully accused in Lanka and fight for Justice !
An Amendment should be passed to the old Constitution (I agree with Charles that a new Constitution is not necessary) that People’s’ Courts be made available to the masses for honesty and justice in the legal system.

Good luck to Avant-Garde. Will any judge have the courage to go against this government? The gestapo police will go after any one that will go against it.
