   Then UNPeer Gamini Lokuge was a thug, not far from my home. He was the first real terror a generation ahead of his contemporaries. He now appears to be a good man. His survival in politics is a real indication of how low we have fallen.

   A very good observation. He is now in the JO after transitting in the UNP and SLFP since the 1980s. Other examples include Batalanda Ranil, etc. All three major political parties (that can rule the country) namely, UNP, SLFP and JO have them. There is no motivation to rid them from parties as people foolishly vote for these parties.

   I stopped complaining on Batalanda Ranil a long time ago. How he happened to be a PM in 2001 ( a shock to me that time) also show our bankruptcy in politics. If I complain about someone there is still some chance to rehabilitate, even though that chance may be slim.
