Is Tamil Eelam an Indian Expansionist Project?

Who really wants Tamil Eelam and who is going to benefit by creating a Tamil Eelam are two questions we need to answer. That Tamils in both South India and North Sri Lanka demand Tamil Eelam is understood but who will realistically benefit by the creation of Tamil Eelam and is that why the eelam project is being promoted is never pondered. The answer to that has always been staring us right in the face though Sri Lanka’s leaders have chosen not to admit and acknowledge it. In so doing, we have allowed the expansion of a bigger Eelam now even encapsulating the country’s central plains. Our politicians and their coterie of advisors have much to answer for in creating debacles for this nation some of which are now irreversible.

To answer the question we need to go back in time and start putting the puzzle together

  • India was never a nation-state until 1947. India was created by the British amalgamating separate independent princely kingdoms and territories. India as a nation has a history of only 69 years.
  • Invasions from South India have been taking place. In fact 17 times this Dharmadweepa has been invaded by South India (Pandya, Pallava & Chola) since 230BCE. They wiped out entire Sinhala villages ransacked & plundered Buddhist royal capitals Anuradhapura & Polonnaruwa. They ruled at different times for around 170 years. Our nation has been invaded and occupied by foreigners for 613 years. (colonials for 443 years & Indians for 170 years) Our nation has been terrorised by Indians – Sena & Guttika (ruled for 22 years after killing Sinhala king Suratissa brother of Devanampiyatissa), Chola Elara (ruled for 44 years after killing Suratissa’s brother Asela. Elara was slain by Dutugemunu who unified the entire country), 7 Indian Tamils invaded until they were deposed by Valagambahu. In the middle of 9th ce Pandyans and Cholas invaded leading to the abandonment of Anuradhapura which had been the capital of 1400 years. In 993 Raja Raja 1 invaded forcing Mahinda V (last king of Anuradhapura) to flee but was captured, taken to India as prisoner. Vijayabahu chose Polonnaruwa as the capital whose son Parakramabahu 1 reigned for 33 years. In 1201 Kalinga Maga invaded (ruling for 21 years). Noteworthy about these invasion was that orders were to destroy Buddhist temples, viharas, plunder the wealth and give the land to Cholas from India.  The invasions & insecurity were the sole reasons for Sinhala kings to take their capitals southwards. During reign of Parakarama Bahu III, Pandyan army led by Chakravati invaded the nation and succeeded in taking the sacred Tooth-Relics to India but the Sinhala king went and brought it back to Lanka. The last of the terrorism has come from terrorist Prabakaran & LTTE again a by-product of India.
  • South Indian invasions have been accompanied by mercenaries, violence, explicit intent to destroy traces of Sinhala Buddhist civilization in the North, criminal activity, demographic change. History always repeats. Note the constant demands of present-day South Indian leaders for the Indian Government to invade Sri Lanka to create a Tamil state.
  • Initial calls for Dravidistan (Tamil speaking states) started in December 1916 with the release of the “Non-Brahmin Manifesto” with British imperialist patronage. The movement was given a militant edge by Periyar E.V. Ramasamy Naicker. Important to note that the Dravidian movement until 1947 was a handmaiden of the British. Periya even pleased the British not to leave Tamil Nadu. For the British the divide and rule fitted well into the Aryan-Dravidian theory. But the British Cripps mission in 1942 refused to grant a separate Tamil state.
  • It was the Indian Justice Party who in 1920 started a call for Tamils to live separate of Brahmin-controlled India. In the 1950s the demand for Dravidistan was dropped to be replaced with ‘Tamil Nadu for Tamils’ which India weakened through the 1956 States Reorganization Act along linguistic lines and ironically enough the Sinhala Only Act came the same year.
  • It was in 1949 that the DMK Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam was formed demanding a separate state and it was also in the same year that Chelvanayagam (Christian Tamil born in Malaysia) formed the ITAK (Federal Party) also calling for a Tamil state. There cannot be independent Tamil states all over the world where Tamils live so with 72million Tamils living in Tamil Nadu and with hardly 2million Tamils living in Sri Lanka the homeland is nowhere else but in Tamil Nadu.
  • DMK dropped the separatist demand in 1963 but India’s Central Government craftily used the Tamil factor to start militant groups covertly in Sri Lanka. Eelam in Sri Lanka calls are coming from non-Tamil leaders in Tamil Nadu. India’s aim was to keep the Tamil independence movement divided and be able to exert overt control over it.
  • It was in the late 1970s that the Indian government clandestinely started to take unemployed Sri Lankan Tamil youth to India to train in armed combat (JAIN commission report lists out these training centres and numbers trained) Tamil New Tigers was created by Prabakaran in May 1972, he killed the first Tamil in 1975 (Alfred Duraiappah) and rechristened TNT as LTTE in May 1976 the same year/month of the Vaddukoddai Resolution. Coincidentally it was in May 2009 that LTTE and Prabakaran were annihilated militarily.
  • India trained not only LTTE and Prabakaran but some 35 other Tamil militant groups including Tamil civilians in armed warfare. LTTE was backed by Indian intelligence agency.
  • It was India that came to the rescue of a cornered Prabakaran in 1987 and whisked him off to India. It was India’s explicit knowledge that LTTE used Tamil Nadu as a logistics hub. LTTE even had offices in Madras (Chennai). Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MGR Ramachandran even gave money to LTTE as did the Indian Government in exchange for LTTE’s agreement to sign 2002 ceasefire agreement.
  • It was India that quickly drafted the 1987 Indo-Lanka Accord peddling bogus notions of a Tamil-Homeland encompassing even Eastern Province (which was always ruled by the Kandyan Kingdom while there never existed any independent Tamil kingdom except when invaders from South India were ruling the areas they captured)
  • It was India that forced the signing of the Indo-Lanka Accord in 1987 making Sri Lanka introduce the 13th amendment and the provincial council system so that by merging two provinces (N&E) India would be able to secure Trincomalee its prize target. It is why the 13th amendment needs to be removed in toto and provincial council systems be removed as well.
  • It was India that promoted Indian agent Vartharaja Perumal as the Chief Minister of the merged NE and got him to declare unilateral declaration of independence in 1990 which President Premadasa quickly dissolved forcing India to fly Perumal to India so he would not spill the beans.
  • It was India that used the ‘concern for Tamil’ card to penetrate into every area of Sri Lankan polity – economy, society, cultural and even political tapping into and bringing under Indian influence a plethora of public figures ranging from politicians, public officials, academics, journalists, media etc.
  • It was with India’s consent that the 2002 ceasefire was brokered by Norway, clauses all approved by India. It was after obtaining India’s approval that the successive UNHRC resolutions were presented. India is a periphery of British influence that controls this part of the world and the West does nothing without the consent of India’s Centre.
  • Eelam has worked marvellously for India which has been able to make steady progress into every area of Sri Lanka. India influences our energy, our food, our economy and even our political decision making. Riding on the backdrop of Tamil grievances India is setting up housing, livelihood programs, land takeovers even in the Central plains where demographic change is staring Sri Lankan law makers in the face with rise in Tamil births. Using scare tactics and might of the UN/UNHRC, India has been able to reduce high security zone areas, hand over lands to people who never even had title deeds to lands, close down military camps and reduce military making it easier for India to influence the Tamils living in these areas. The transmission of Indian satellite tv across the North is a good example of how Tamils are more aware of Chennai filmstars than those in the island.
  • Isn’t it puzzling that even after India, US, UK, Canada and 32 nations have banned LTTE why these nations do not go after LTTE and its direct and indirect promoters as these nations go after Al Qaeda/ISIS even after the Sri Lankan Government used the UNSC Resolution 1373 to ban 16 organizations as LTTE fronts and named 424 individuals as being linked to LTTE?
  • The rigid caste division among Tamils is another factor that enables India to control Tamil polity to their advantage as India does in India. India is able to influence the caste in North Sri Lanka, East Sri Lanka and Central Sri Lanka and soon with rising Tamil populations in South Sri Lanka India will begin another wave of trouble. India has consul offices in North, Colombo, Kandy and Hambantota. We do not even know the number of Indians at present in Sri Lanka as tourists, as tourists working illegally, illegal Indians, Indians living in Sri Lanka, Indians married to Sri Lankans, Indian buying land in Sri Lanka from business/marriage etc… notice how India is always looking at ventures in the North and East that enables them to control key strategic areas or use these areas as watch towers (Sampoor power plant is just one example)
  • All of the trade agreements with India have been only to India’s advantage. The historical psychology of taking all and giving none prevails in all of India’s dealings with its SAARC neighbors. Where Sri Lanka accrues any advantage India has been quick to cut short these with additional clauses. The ETCA enabling a free flow of Indians to flood Sri Lanka is to allow invasion by another name. The Hanuman Bridge is another voluntary invasion option agreed by Sri Lanka’s visionless leaders craftily peddled by India having ensure Sri Lanka is virtually bankrupt with no option but to agree to anything for political survival.

Britain and India are well in control of separatist movements. When India has successfully controlled & is well in control of both the Dravidistan movement as well as the Tamil Nadu for Tamils separatist movement in India (encompassing millions of Tamils) it is a piece of cake for India to control Sambanthan and coterie and their Eelam. The visits by TNA & other Sri Lankan Tamil leaders on a regular basis to India is a prime example of this influence being exerted. The manner Estate Tamils vote at elections is another example of India’s influence.

Therefore, it is time we identified who the real enemy is. Tamil Eelam has been prostituted by many. For NGOs who are the intelligence units of foreign governments, by stationing these entities in troubled locations foreign governments have been able to gather data and information which they use whenever they want to press buttons. With most charities being foreign Christian missionaries the global expansionist agenda of the Church is well on track – statistics of Tamil Hindus converting to Christianity/Catholicism in both Tamil Nadu and North Sri Lanka is ample evidence of this. The Eelam cause tied to the discrimination by Sinhalese has been perfect to enable Tamils to go abroad as refugees and through them add to the separatist kitty via monthly forced/voluntary disbursements and their numbers used to influence foreign parliamentarians, their political decision making against Sri Lanka. There is little that needs to be said about the unbias of UN & its entities– the bombing of a hospital by US in Afghanistan that killed 14 doctors and 42 people which US admitted, saw nothing of the reaction UNHRC took against Sri Lanka after listening to third party sources.

We really have to ask ourselves who is really controlling or in control of the Tamil Eelam agenda? Is it really with the aim of addressing Tamil demands or is self-rule & autonomy with the land division on the wishlist of all those who had been peddling the eelam bogey for their own advantage and has nothing to do with Tamils? Will Tamils end up in a bigger soup under Indian influence in trying to break away from the Sinhalese drawing upon a mentality that has been engrained into their psyche from childhood? Food for thought for Tamils and much to think about for the Sinhala leaders and polity.

Many Sri Lankans are gravely concerned about the TNA proposal to partition Sri Lanka into four pieces with a huge chunk (28% of the land area, 66% of the coastline and 66% of the ocean comprising the North and the East of Sri Lanka) going to the TNA racists and separatists as a merged North East federal state (but craftily disguised as ‘unitary’) with full powers.

We are wondering why did over 43,000 both Sri Lankan Forces and civilians die at the hands of the LTTE and that megalomaniac Prabhakaran, if now, the TNA is being handed over an ‘Eelam’ so easily constitutionally?

When looking at a GIS Map of Sri Lanka, it is amply clear that most of the forested areas of Sri Lanka are situated in the North and the East. Do not these forests belong to all the citizens of Sri Lanka? Do not the same principle apply to the ocean too or even the whole island, that the oceans and the whole island belong to all the people of Sri Lanka? Mr. Vigneshwaran has ‘created’ a fake history (stating that Tamils lived in Sri Lanka for 2000 years). Yet, there are no ancient ruins in Jaffna, in the North nor any ancient Dravidian writing to prove these fake claims. History of the Tamils commence mainly with the Dutch and the British bringing in large numbers of people from Tamil Nadu to work in tobacco plantations commenced by the Dutch and the British. There was the so called Jaffna Kingdom set up by an invader just prior to that but then Jaffna was only very sparsely populated. Our question is, can people such as Mr. Vigneshwaran ‘create’ his own fake history like this? He is ignoring the many Buddhist ruins, the many ancient Buddha statues, ancient Sinhala prakrit writing, the many ancient irrigation reservoirs built by Sinhala kings in the North and the East which proves an earlier indigenous Sinhala habitation in the North and all over the island. We would like to tell Mr. Vigneshwaran to be objective when it comes to history and archaeology and accept once and for all the fact that the Sinhala people lived all over the island for thousands of years and continue to do so. I would like Mr. Vigneshwaran to note that the provincial boundaries were drawn up by British colonialists for their administrative purposes with no input whatsoever from the Sinhala people and does not tally at all with the earlier history of the island which was unitary in nature.

The Kandyan Kingdom (1400AD-1815) comprised almost all of the island inclusive of the East and almost all of the North. The earlier Kingdom of Rajarata (600BC-1400 AD) comprised the North Central, North Western, Northern and Eastern Provinces or the dry zone of Sri Lanka.

We are gravely concerned regarding the drawing up of a new constitution where due to the pressure of the TNA, the US, EU, UK, Canada, Norway, Sri Lanka is in grave danger of being divided up on ethnic lines into four, five or even six different pieces. Is this not crazy?

The TNA proposals were drawn up by experts which the TNA hired from the UK, Canada, Belgium, Canada, US and the like. Is this not an interference in Sri Lanka’s internal affairs by foreign powers, even to the extent of trying to draw up Sri Lanka’s constitution?

Can any organization in Sri Lanka go to the supreme court and stop, once and for all, the merger of the North and the East since it is critical to stop this once and for all? Can any organization in Sri Lanka also go to the supreme court and stop, once and for all the, dividing up of this small island on ethnic or any other lines?

The only way to stop this madness is to go to the supreme court and get a verdict which would prohibit the merger of any provinces and to stop once and for all the dismemberment of this small island on ethnic or any other lines.

  2. Ratanapala Says:

Let is talk about the implications of Eelam for the Sri Lanka state. What will happen the day after and the days that follows – after heavens forbid if Eelam becomes a reality. Are we to believe that the border so formed will remain static. There will be hundreds of Mavil Arus across every water way that cross this undefined border. It will be unending war! Eelamists will find every excuse to unsettle the balance of Sri Lanka.

Conflicts will go till the Eelamist along with Estate Tamils capture the headwaters of the Mahaveli and all the hydro stations. Sri Lanka will loose most of its 12 mile territorial waters and the 200 or more economic zone along with all the mineral wealth. There will be unimpeded illegal immigration from South India. Sri Lanka will loose Trincomalee the best deepwater harbour in the Ravana Samudra ( I cannot get myself to call it the Indian Ocean for there was no India prior to British) . Let us elaborate what can happen if Eelam becomes a reality.

We simply have to be proactive and not simply reactive. This is how we bungled throughout our history. We waited for the events. Our history is one of facing events created by others.

The nation must be mobilised to nullify the Eelam project. The idiotic population in the South doesn’t have a clue of the consequences of Eelam. They are like sheep fattening to face slaughter.

Thanks Shenali. Should we not, all those especially the Sinhalese living all over the world sign and send a petition all the relevant international organizations and the governments.
We also need to organize a petition to SL government and individual petitions to the members by the constituents of each electorate.
I am not an activist or a good organizer but am willing to sign any such petition and if necessary make monetary contribution

All the Separatist stunts is a Tamil Nadu stunt now taken over by INDIA & some western countries. INDIA is doing this take over bid to all her smaller neighbors. It seems that BRITAIN wants a piece of the Lanka pie too ?

One way to stop the take over by INDIA is to remove the made in INDIA 13-A.

Does Yahap have the guts to remove the 13-A ?

That is the ONLY thing that will make their “existence by force” at present worthwhile, and all their cheat & deceit to get power and stay in power.

  7. Cerberus Says:

Dear Shenali, You have written a wonderful eye opener for our leaders and people. What you are saying is exactly true. In the light of the statements by Vigneswaran, the GoSL must make a statement as to where they stand. The GoSL is alway very tough on Sinhalese who speak for the Sinhala Buddhists. With them the GoSL says not to foment racial disharmony. However when the Tamil leaders do the same they just ignore. In case of the Sinhala Buddhists they have no one to protect them. Protests end up in arrests with no talks held with protesters. However in case of the Tamils they have the British who have always favored their activities from the 1916’s. I would suggest that the Sinhalese must organize a boycott of all Tamil business and Institutions so that the Tamils feel the financial pinch. When they feel the financial losses they will make sure their leaders follow the law of the land and stop separatism. This is a non violent way of stopping separatism. . In this connection please also see the attached.

The NEWLY FORMED “Democratic Tamil National Front” (DTNF) also espouses the Indian Model of Federalism” and the expansion of the 13-th Amendment.

Therefore, this new organization supposedly CRITICAL of the TNA shares and fosters the SAME BELIEFS as the TNA, and seems geared to incite the Up-Country Tamils into rebellion also.

From our point of view the DTNF and the TNA are SIX of one and HALF-A_DOZEN of the other … NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL!

The DTNF wants the same things as the TNA: The creation of a Tamils-only EELAM State in Sri Lanka, configured and ready along the Indian Model to breakaway from Sri Lanka to fit neatly into India at the EARLIEST POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY!

FRUSTRATE these TRAITORS by REPEALING the 13-A, DISSOLVING the Provincial Council System, BANNING Communal Parties completely, DECLARING as TREASON support for dividing Sri Lanka according to ethnicity, language, religion, caste, wealth and sex, adopting NATIONAL INTEGRATION of all communities across Sri Lanka as NATIONAL POLICY, and governed by an STRENGTHENED and EVEN MORE STABLE Executive Presidential Parliamentary System capable of DEFENDING and PROTECTING our Motherland DECISIVELY.

Make Sri Lanka the HOMELAND of ALL OF ITS PEOPLE without regard to communal divisions!

ONE INDIVISIBLE Nation, ONE INSEPARABLE People, Sharing ONE INDOMITABLE National Destiny … FOREVER!

    ……………………………

Tamil parties form new coalition in Sri Lanka
Fri, May 6, 2016, 09:33 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

May 06 (Hindu) Ten Tamil parties and groups in Sri Lanka have come together to form a coalition – Democratic Tamil National Front. Among the parties are the Tamil United Liberation Front of V. Anandasangaree; Eelam People’s Democratic Party of Douglas Devananda and Democratic People’s Congress of Praba Ganesan.

Only a few days ago, Mr. Devananda and Mr. Ganesan had met President and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party chief Maithripala Sirisena and declared their allegiance to him.

Explaining the purpose behind the coalition’s formation, Mr. Devananda told The Hindu that the parties which claimed to have brought in the existing government had not been able to take care of the interests of Tamils.

    Critical of TNA

“Having been part of the previous government [led by Mahinda Rajapaksa], my party has the experience of getting things done from those in power. At that time, we were alone. Now, we will work together with other like-minded Tamil parties.”

Mr. Anandasangaree, a known critic of the Tamil National Alliance and its chief R. Sampanthan, told The Hindu that one of the objectives was to target the TNA and weaken it. Would he invite constituents of the TNA to join his front? “My offer is open to all.” He added that the front would also like to have parties representing Muslims, most of whom speak Tamil. Mr. Anandasangaree said the coming elections to local bodies were one of the factors behind the coalition’s formation. However, Mr. Devananda ruled out this factor.

The new coalition would campaign for the adoption of the “Indian model of federalism”, which could be accomplished by enlarging the scope of the 13th Constitutional Amendment, which created provincial councils.

Mr. Anandasangaree said attempts to draft a new Constitution would be futile when a large number of lawmakers belonging to Mr. Sirisena’s party attended a May Day rally addressed by Mr. Rajapaksa. “My position is this: identify problems in the existing Constitution and address them,” he said.

Petition to Restore MR’s Military Security: 5809 and Counting; 7500 total needed.

  10. Fran Diaz Says:

    * The new Tamil political party sounds like a wing of the TNA with the word ‘Democratic’ attached to it.
    * ‘Enlarging the scope of the 13-A …. ‘ in keeping with the Indian model.
    * They also refer to Muslims ‘most of whom speak Tamil’ – so they are Tamils who have converted to Islam. Told this to readers of L’web quite some time ago.

We want the ILLEGAL 13-A removed.
The UNP allowed in the 13-A, however much under Duress.
The UNP allowed the 1983 Riots.

Now, the UNP led Yahap is in an ideal position to remove the 13-A.
Do they have the spunk and guts ?
    We are watching.

  11. Ananda-USA Says:

Ananda- Sangree says: My position is this “identify the problems with the constitution and address them!”

Ananda-USA says: My position is this “the problem with the Constitution are that the 13th Amendment divides Sri Lanka along communal lines and sets the stage for its DISINTEGRATION into a patchwork of communal Bantustans”!

    My proposed solution is:

REPEAL the 13th Amendment and DISSOLVE the Provincial Council System.
INTRODUCE a Constitutional Amendment to DECLARE as TREASON any attempt to divide Sri Lanka along communal lines, and collusion with foreign powers to that end, with a MANDATORY DEATH PENALTY.
INTRODUCE an Constitutional Amendment to BAN all organizations espousing communal divisions and hatred by word or deed.
INTRODUCE an Constitutional Amendment to declare as ILLEGAL and all land ownership by non-citizens, foreign organizations and foreign nations. Further, at least 51% of businesses in Sri Lanka should be owned by citizens of Sri Lanka and they should hold at least 51% of the voting shares and company board directorships. Sri Lanka must be setup to work for the advancement of Sri Lankans.

  12. Dham Says:

On the 19th of May, 26000 “real patriots” died to hand over Military Solution to the President. It came after 30 years of relentless efforts by the armed forces. If people were told “Political Solutions” are found, no one would have joined the forces. They joined for various reasons, main one being liberation of the country form Tamil evil. “Fake Patriots ” took over that victory since 2009, kicking out those who fought the war.

(Not UNP , or SLFP nor JO, it was the JVP ( when WW was still with the JVP in 2006 ) who took legal actions to separate the two provinces, proving the illegality of merged provinces.

13A was fully restored ( within legal limits) by none other than former president by holding an unnecessary North election to please British Monarch ahead of Commonwealth Summit in 2013.

Therefore , if UNP Batalanda Ranil is smart, he will get rid of 13A and do the justice to the killed Sinhala people. Wait ! but Ranil is a Royal Dropout – how can he be smart ?

  13. Dham Says:

    Ananda-USA,
Well said Sir. Same name ‘great’ difference.
You are well worthy to be called a king. We called your elder brother with that name too early !

  14. Ananda-USA Says:

    Dham,

I wish the Maharajaneni was indeed my elder brother, it would have been an incomparable honor.

Unfortunately, I am not even remotely related to him, although I am a Sinhala Buddhist like him.

I have met him at several meetings and conveyed to him my heartfelt gratitude for saving our Motherland!

It is that single achievement of his that binds me to him. He did what no other leader could do in incomparable fashion helping all patriotic Sri Lankans to hold their heads up high again and look towards a bright and prosperous future for our resplendent land.

That hope of TRANSFORMING Sri Lanka into New Wonder of Asia within a DECADE has now been GUTTED by the Yamapalana BUNGLERS!

It is upto us, the Patriots of Lanka to help Mahinda rescue our Motherland again.

  15. Dham Says:

    Ananda,
It is that single achievement of his that binds me to him. He did what no other leader could do in incomparable fashion helping all patriotic Sri Lankans to hold their heads up high again and look towards a bright and prosperous future for our resplendent land.

I agree 100%. However, may I respectfully add, it did blind me as well initially, but not any more.

I feel sad he was overcome by excessive greed, unable to transcend from it and being human it is always possible when too much Godly worshiping coming towards you.

  16. Ananda-USA Says:

    Dham,

You imply that I am blinded by his achievements to his faults.

Not so, I see everything and I strongly disagree that he was greedy, or was himself blinded by the love he received from his grateful fellow citizens.

Did he have faults? Yes he did, not listening to the Patriots and REPEALING the 13th Amendment and DISSOLVING the Provincial Councils right after the LTTE was decisively defeated, was his greatest fault. Another was not getting rid of thugs like Mervyn Silva.

However, that was NOT because of excessive ambition, excessive pride or personal greed.

His political judgement was to defer those things until he could execute his economic plan that would revive and strenghten the economy so it could resist Western economic sanctions, defuse the communal divisions, and thereby allow him to CONSOLIDATE the gains of the military victory in the best interest of ALL Sri Lankans.

He failed to do that because of the TREACHERY of many of his own Sinhala Buddhist followers who had quickly forgotten the DIRE PERIL they were in only six years previously, and we’re conniving for personal political and economic gain.

Make no mistake, while minority communities, the Tamil Diaspora, India, the Western Neocolonialists trying to contain China and emerging developing economies, and foreign missionaries and their NGO fifth-columns trying to change the demographics of Sri Lanka can always be expected to try to defeat this ABLEST leader of the Sinhala Buddhist community, it is the TREACHEROUS TURNCOATS among the Sinhala Buddhists who defeated MR and plunged our Motherland into the CURRENT EXISTENTIAL CRISIS once again.

TRAITORS among the Sinhala Buddhist community BETRAYED us on January 8, 2015 just as they had BETRAYED us and delivered our sovereign nation bound hand and foot to the British on March 2, 1815.

Therefore, when you undermine MR now and say that you were blind in the past and you have opened your eyes now, I happen to think that your eyes were open in the past, and you have gone blind now. Worse still, you are giving sustenance to Sri Lanka’s enemies and undermining the ongoing struggle of the Sinhala Buddhist community to rescue our Motherland from the grip of its enemies.

However, I doubt that anything I can say will change your mind; you will persist along this course to the bitter end. Mercifully, you are but one man grinding your own axe here; there are millions of other Patriots who will read what we write here and decide what to do in the best interest of our Motherland as they did ten to six years ago when we were supporting on the Web the military defeating of the LTTE.

There were lots of peace-niks and assorted nay-sayer advocsting appeasement of unrepentant terrorists then, but our message got through.

Our message will again resonate in the hearts and minds of Sri Lankan Patriots once again despite the demonization of our leaders by our enemies, internal and external, overt and covert.

  17. Dham Says:

    Ananda,
You were a well-off kid when you were growing up in Sri Lanka. You are a very rich man now. Have you ravelled in a public bus in 2013 ? Have you not seen how politicians travelled in 2013 ?
I am not poor either but I took public busses to travel in 2013 few times, I talked to people, I debated, I observed and finally , I realised I was wrong.
I know you are a very generous man and looking after poor kid and so on. But if I were MR, I would rather die than enjoy so much luxury in a poor country. I don’t like to go into details, please allow me to express myself , you can keep your love for MR and I don’t blame of get angry with you.
My country is important to me than MR. That is all.

  18. Fran Diaz Says:

    I agree with Ananda-USA.
MR liberated the country from a deadly situation that lasted some 30 yrs, risking his life and those of his near and dear. There is a debt of gratitude that we owe him.
MR is also a highly likeable person. He himself touches most Hearts of the People, whichever community.
It is horrible to watch and see how Yahap treats him and his family.

Re the common people of Lanka :
Maslov’s Laws in operation here :
After the war with the LTTE, the Economic needs set in.

    * It is also the ‘divide & rule’ people from within and outside that ALWAYS divides up the People for their personal gain. It has ALWAYS been so.
    * The Tamil Caste Wars also divides the Nation, then and now (please read Izeth Hussein’s article “Are the Tamils fit for Devolution” Island, 6 May 2016).

I too have sometimes travelled by train, bus & van (public transport) in the 1970s & 80s when I was working in Sri Lanka. It was not a pleasant experience, but the train was not bad for long distrance travel. It was/is far worse in INDIA !
Though travel methods can improve, I cannot fathom Dham’s argument on the travel aspects for the public and MR’s mode of travel as President. There are certain standards to be maintained as a President, and MR followed them. I would say that public methods of travel can always improve, whoever is President. JR’s plum red colored air conditioned Daimler was evident when he was President. Some may have wished they too had such a nice car to travel in on a hot and humid day, but who grudged him that item as President ? Presidents earn certain priviledges, and that is right.

The Heat & Humidity, mosquitoes and insects, rich vs poor, Tamil Caste Wars on lower key (from Tamil Nadu, even if it stops in Lanka) & other negativities etc will always continue, whoever is in power.

It may be right to say that some folk do not like MR because he stopped the money spinning terror WAR for some
people – it certainly was a money spinner plus vengeance reaper for the LTTE !

  19. Dham Says:

    Fran,
Travel is just an example. My house is next to a major hospital. Go and talked to people, people who “directly” risked their lives to bring us peace. It is heartless just to talk about them ( even that is just to get votes), call them “war heroes” just for the sake of calling and to attract votes and award this kingship to someone never risked life and stayed in maximum comfort.

  20. Fran Diaz Says:

    Dham,

Part of Society in Lanka had to fight the terrible war against the LTTE. The soldiers had to fight the war, the MR govt organised the war.

The Govt led by MR organised the fight against the LTTE, and the ordinary Sinhala people (almost all Sinhala/Buddhsits) mostly were the fighters. It is that simple. There was NO OTHER WAY.

A single leader such as MR could not go into the LTTE area brandishing a sword and a gun and down the terrorists .. !! Nor could a small group of fighters achieve it. In fact, the war was aided from the ‘Heavens & Gods’ with the Tsunami of 2004 which took off the Sea Tiger might and carried away the ‘Sun God’ & some other top LTTE people.

ALL soldiers, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, pay a heavy price fighting for their country. The MR govt looked after the injured soldiers as best as they could. The Ranaviru Seva headed by Gots did good services to those families who were left in want. Myself and my family participated in these ventures. There is no other way to fight a war. I have seen far less done for soliders in other Democracies after a relatively minor war. In fact, I have seen a few ex-soldiers on the streets with signs asking for help.

Right now MR is not the person in power. Please ask Yahap govt to continue MR govt help to injured soldiers. It is the Yahap govt that lacks the Heart qualities. Do not transfer the Yahap faults to the MR govt.

I suppose that you feel deeply for injured soldiers – so do we. Since the MR govt did a lot for this group, it is up to Yahap to continue the good work. Please don’t add the injured soliders to your list of people to hold grudges against MR ! That is tantamount to diabolical & dangerous political thinking, isn’t it ?

Blame the war on the LTTE – if there was no LTTE, there would have been no war.
If there was no Tamil Caste divide, there would have been no LTTE, and no war.
If now war, no suffering and injured soldiers (mostly Sinhala/Buddhists) ; no suffering and injured & dead civilians (mostly Sinhala/Buddhists) either.

MR is not the fault line here.
Blame the Tamil Caste system from Tamil Nadu, still going on.

Use logical thinking in a cruel world. Nothing more to say.

  21. Fran Diaz Says:

error : read ‘Gots’ as Gota.

  22. aloy Says:

People are fed up with the ruling duo and are looking for a person to lead them. Some people seems to have sensed the opportunity and are thinking of MR. He had two terms to serve; he did one well by liberating the country through the effort of army led by SF. Then he put him jail on flimsy charges but went on to rob the country. The former CJ himself aid that he is Tsunami hora and that he could have put him in jail. The other countries also got tsunami aid and they developed the devastated areas well. Indonesia is an example. In SL those affected still live in the same condition even after ten years of MR rule.
Those who are promoting bring back MR campaign here should think again. MR should gracefully retire and let someone worthwhile take over and clean the stinking mess created by the the successive presidents.

  23. Fran Diaz Says:

    aloy,

It is NOT a matter of bringing back MR, it is a matter of saving the Nation from being split up. MR wanted to retire gracefully, but the people visited him by hundreds of thousands and pulled him back into politics as they have no other proven trustworthy person to turn to at this point in time.
Politics is a thankless job, for MR, and even for MS, RW & CBK.

    Re the SF matter :
SF was suffering from some kind of PTSD after the LTTE suicide bomber got at him. Though he did so well in the war itself, (for which we are very grateful), he was no politician. He conducted the political matters he participated in as in a war. During the Presidential election, as a candidate, he holed himself up in a hotel with some 400 plus ex-soldiers as in a war maneuver. There were other off balance things he said and did, and continues to do, as now.
When in medical need, Gota took him to S’pore and had him treated at State expense. That is kindness and concern from Gota & GoSL. What if they just ignored his injuries ? I propose that the MR Govt treated SF well. Right now the Yahap is making him say crazy and even silly things, probably against his own good judgment, with the False War Crimes charges still reunresolved.
In Lanka, not only politicians, even the armed forces personnel are not spared …. such are the times with the ‘divide & rule’ folk in charge. The SL Army now has a Special Advisor from Britain, signed in by Pres MS last year.

    ———-

Only hope for the world with Climate Change happening, is to offer free birth control & Famil Planning material, and so lower, at least somewhat, the huge populations, all wanting and pushing for the same high standards of living as for those in the upper levels of income. An expert (Wayne Pascalle) said that FOUR Earths would be needed to supply the kind of animal protein that the wealthy consume. Overeating of animal protein causes many generative diseases whilst contributing to Climate Change – the second largest factor after fossil fuel.

These are the factors to be addressed plus the useless ‘systems’ that don’t work for large populations. Leave alone in peace those who served the Nation well.

  24. Fran Diaz Says:

wrote in a hurry, correcting error : read as ‘degenerative diseases …’

  25. Dham Says:

    Fran,
To me MR=Ranil=MS = any other politician now. Gone are the time “blinded” by MR. I don’t care who rules. Whoever sabotage or cheat the country disregarding people who are suffering, using fallen comrades, using Buddhism, using thuggery , using appointed Pal Horu , trying to fool student and innocent people to bring unrest and get killed to come to power , will get negative marks.

Look at the 6 billion worth car order by Ranil. For what ? Heartless brainless ticks sucking blood. But if MR ordered that we wouldn’t even have known and we wouldn’t complain even if we knew.

  26. Fran Diaz Says:

    Dham,

In our view, MR is a far more able and caring leader than the present Trio. His govt was transparent re matters of Finance and Fiscal matters, though the Dept of Silly Stuff in the Yahap will say otherwise ! The Contain China program got in the way, as well as INDIAN insecurity.

It is best now if all trusted, ABLE & KNOWLEDGEABLE leaders (I still say 5-8) get together with other willing and able groups, and formulate a Plan for the country, to Save Sri Lanka. Self Sufficiency is best, as far as possible. Bring back the Divinaguma program. Give Hope for the Future. Key word should be “SURVIVAL”.

Don’t give up Hope. If there is a Will, there is a Way.

  27. Dham Says:

    Fran,
My son got bad marks for Maths.
I asked him and he explained to me out of 30 students he was the 24th , there were 6 students worse than him.

  28. Dham Says:

    Fran,
I have to go. please read BOC- ALNOOR report elsewhere in Lankaweb and my comment.
We Buddhist, you Christians , they Muslims or Hindus – we all share one thing.

Hiding truth will not end suffering. Have to bring it up, discuss, accept mistakes , correct them and be No. 1 in class.

  29. Fran Diaz Says:

    Dham,

Yes, bring up the truth. But ‘your son is smart’ – 6 students worse than him, is true. Buddhist Sri Lanka has never gone to war with other countries, so not so bad.

Me Buddhist, born Buddhist – however I am broadminded on these matters now !! It is wise to be accommodative and understanding. Narrow Mindedness is an uncomfortable stance, and in the long run will be proven wrong too ….

  30. Dilrook Says:

India (and Tamils) are behind Tamil Eelam. India financed the LTTE only to the extent of 13A. Once 13A was passed India dumped the LTTE more or less. Therefore it is the 13A that India uses as a tool to create Tamil Eelam. All our parliamentarians uphold the 13A (emphasised). This is the plight of Sri Lanka. Trusting anyone of them to save Sri Lanka is absolute lunacy.

  31. Ancient Sinhalaya Says:

There is an underlying reason for the tamil drealam project. Tamil catholics have been discriminated by majority
hindus for a long time. Tamil catholics have been using a very subtle way to encounter this problem. Instead of
fighting tamil hindus, they fight the government and iimpose their will. Once the government make concessions
or submit to them, tamil hindus automatically toe the catholic line. Clever dicks! They know Sinhala modayas
    will never figure this out.

Evidence to back this are everywhere. But nobody sees it. Father of drealam sjv chelva was a catholic. He was
not even born in Sri Lanka. Came to Sri Lanka. Free education, become a lawyer. Now payback! Started a
separatist campaign. He sew the seeds of hatred. Then hitler pira(mala)paharan, a catholic with fellow catholics,
tamil selvan, soosei, anton balasinyo, kasippu joseph, em manure etc. etc. revived the campaign. It is the
tamil catholics who destroys the harmony and trying to break up. They know if they get drealam, then tamil
hindu’s discrimination will be gone for good. Crafty or what?

  32. SA Kumar Says:

pira(mala)paharan, a catholic with fellow catholics, tamil selvan, soosei, anton balasinyo- No one catholic only VP&co have name changed to cristian name.- all of them are Saiva Thamilar .

They know Sinhala modayas will never figure this out.-We Demila Sakkiliya thought so but not after 19th May 2009.

  33. plumblossom Says:

We do not need provincial councils which only promotes separatism. The provincial councils only duplicate the already existing system of ministry, district secretary, divisional secretaries, grama niladhari system which has functioned for decades. In addition, there are the municipal, urban councils and pradeshiya sabhas who elect their officials to ensure that there is local government representation and to ensure that local matters are dealt with. The ministry, district secretary, divisional secretaries, grama niladhari system is how government plans get implemented at the district, divisional and the grama niladhari level. The only thing the provincial councils do is duplicate this already existing system and is totally unnecessary. Since Sri Lanka is a small country. Therefore what is agreed at the parliamentary level in terms of plans can be implemented islandwide via the ministries. If anyone in any province wants to suggest anything innovative, they can do so via their MP at the parliamentary level. A small country such as Sri Lanka needs a strong central government and just one plan for the entire island to move forward. For this the existing ministry, district secretary, divisional secretaries, grama niladhari system is sufficient. At the local level there are the municipal, urban councils and the pradeshiya sabhas to take care of local matters.
