PEOPLE IN SRI LANKA LIVE HUNGRY, THRIVING ON PLAIN TEA AND BISCOTHU, WHILE PRESIDENT IMPORTS TWO CARS EACH WORTH  RS600 MILLION AS PER NEWS.

SUSANTHA WIJESINGHE

IT was in the news sometime back that the Parliament is to sanction Rs283 million to buy SIX cars for some SIX political suckers. Two of them wanted Rs40 million cars, while another wanted Rs20 million car, and Sambanthan was to be given Rs21 Million to extend his Eelaam Palace. Now The PRESIDENT  imports the aforesaid Cars for his son and Daughter perhaps.

Please watch this ITN news clip. PEOPLE ARE STARVING WITHOUT A MEAL FOR A DAY, and some are living on PLAIN TEA AND A BISCOTHU.

THIS IS CERTAINLY YAHA PAALANAYA FOR PRESIDENT AND PRIME MINISTER, AND THE 225 RATS IN PARLIAMENT, AND NOT FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE THRIVING ON PLAIN TEA. IT IS SAD.

What has become of beautiful SRI LANKA ?  Pardon me, it was a Voter set of Sinhalese who brought about this curse.

    NO SW.

It was the TAMIL & MUSLIM BLOCK VOTE that brought Sira into power.

  2. Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

LORENZO !! Yes, you are correct. It was also, a large Sinhalese block vote that voted against Mahinda. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    Susantha,

I watched the ITN Video. It did not mention anything about starving people, but consisted of a series of Yamapalanaya propaganda clips praising themselves, including the “award winning” Financial Bunglers Ravi Karunanayake!

Did you post the wrong link?

  4. Lorenzo Says:

    SW,

    You are CORRECT.

UNP and JVP have a vote. That went to My3. That is the Singhala vote for My3.

But Tamils and Muslims TILTED the balance in My3’s favour.

IF I were NOT supporting My3, I would have got some “SKIRMISH” in a polling booth in the north at 7 AM and blamed it on a TNA-LTTE-RAW nexus. Game over!

You write we read and give comments and millions protest but do these spineless leaders today cares about anything or listen to what we say? They damn care about anything except themselves and their kith and kin. They get richer day by day and enjoying all the luxury while the ordinary people suffer too much due to poor economy and poor governance. This habitual government must go immediately and allow a strong leader to lead our nation with some dignity. Let’s pray for that day to come sooner than later.

Towards the very end I could see the video on starving villagers. Was it actually ITN news.At a time when MPs and Prez are buying several hundred millions worth of luxury cars this is a terrible situation.

Thanks SW for bringing this to light

ANANDA !! THE NEWS ABOUT STARVING PEOPLE ARE TOWARDS THE END OF THE CLIP. ALOY HAS SEEN IT.

  9. Christie Says:

It is mainly the Sinhalese be they are Buddhists, Muslims or Christians who go hungry. Indian colonial parasites staple food prices were reduced by the Indian appointed regime as soon as they came to power,

Sri Lanka made a huge mistake voting for Maithripala Sirisena. The Previous Mahinda Rajapaksha may have been corrupt too as it was well documented in the media. As he imported expensive flashy cars etc. Ditto his spoilt son Namal flash Harry Rajapakshe and others etc. But at least he was genuinely helping the country and Sri Lanka was well on the road to prosperity. The middle class was expanding and more and more people were lifting out of poverty to more prosperous lifestyles. The next election is going to be crucial for Sri Lanka in 2020 for Sri Lanka to get back on track like it was under MR. Hopefully MR will be voted back in. So MR can continue where he left off in January 2015.

People in Sri Lanka have no reason to be starving as the country is very fertile and plenty of jobs that would keep people off starvation, unless the man in the house have neglected his family by wasting his money on liquor or gambling. I am speaking from my experience, almost daily, though I am here in UK,as I get daily reports of my workers and their problems. I have come to a stage fell very little sympathy for them. Unless one have a business there, one will never understand this problem.
I commend our private companies for doing everything possible to motivate the people at the bottom of the ladder to do a day’s work. Some of them rather be starving than get to work to make some money.
So when there’s no accountability and responsibility is shown at the lower levels, same goes at the levels of the members of the parliament where they could recklessly spend our money that is the people’s money by way of taxation where they have the access to it and spend it regardless.
It is two sides of the same coin. Country like ours is are cursed with our preoccupation with our history, culture and the main religion which is being manipulated by everybody.
.I live in the most expensive part in the country but only 200yasrds away in the social housing complex people and even kids hardly manage a square meal because they too have their priority on other things like boozing, gambling, getting into debt by buying luxuries etc.
We had a better and an orderly life prior to 1948 and we must bring them back.

    Attaboy Nimal,

No doubt, all employees should be whipped until morale improves!
