The UN Day of Vesak 2017 – International Buddhist Symposium
This video clip shown by Ven. Uda Eriyagama Dhammajiva Thera to attendees of a well attended Panel discussion on the theme of the UN Day of Vesak 2017, during the International Buddhist Symposium held on May 13, 2017 at the BMICH, highlights appreciatively the role of Asoka Weeraratna (Ven. Mitirigala Dhammanissanthi Thera) in founding the Mitirigala Nissarana Vanaya.
Most Ven. U. Dhammajiva Maha Thero is the architect of the Sati Pasala program. The 14th United Nations Day Of Wesak (May 12-14) At B.M.I.C.H. Colombo And Kandy was a special occasion to the Sati Pasala Program.
The first Panel Discussion on Buddhist Teachings for Social Justice and Sustainable World Peace was held on 13 May 2017 at the B.M.I.C.H. Sati Pasala was presented in detail by Most Venerable U Dhammajiva on that occasion, using a video presentation. Most Ven. Thero explained the genesis and evolution of Sati Pasala to dignitaries and delegates from 72 countries. He also participated in the Plenary session held in the afternoon and responded to questions on the makings of Sati Pasala.
The written script of the presentation on Sati Pasala, as well as the book and video of Sati Pasala, were distributed among all participants.
