Leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU), Udaya Gammanpila stated that the Secretary of the National Bhikku Front, Ven. Wakamulle Uditha Thero must be arrested before Ven. Gnanasara thero for attempts to arouse racism.

Udaya Gammpanpila stated that although nine years had elapsed since the end of the civil war, the Sinhalese had in no way demanded for the city of Colombo to be given to their community, and that Ven. Wakamulle Uditha Thero must be arrested first and foremost for attempting to arouse racism in such an environment.

According to Gammanpila’s statements, Ven. Wakamulle Uditha Thero had yesterday (18) questioned through the media whether to decapitate Muslim people and throw them into the ocean”. The leader of the PHU added that even Ven. Gnanasara Thero who was labeled to be the leading Sinhala extremist had not made such a preposterous statement.

Gammanpila stated this upon attending a media briefing of the PHU today (19).

He added that everyone was bullying the Sinhalese due to the peaceful demeanour of the majority of the community, and pointed out that none of the dollar-dependent Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that were quick to blame Ven. Gnanasara Thero had criticized the extremist statements made by C. V. Vigneswaran, M. K. Sivajilingam or Azath Salley who were the true extremists, proving said NGOs to be the most racist of them all.
