Towards end of 2013, the United National Party was virtually bankrupt. Technically speaking, the Party was unable to pay its debts”. Dwindling membership eroded its coffers. The Sirikotha repairs and maintenance were not done, roof leakages, broken toilet facilities, damaged floor tiles, torn curtains, leaking taps, shabby garden, unpaid workers, limiting use of lights to save electricity all added to make the Big House – Maha Gedera” of the UNP to become a haunted house. No regular cleaning were done during that period, causing gathering of cob webs, mosquitos and above all accumulation of Bats damaging rooms, floor tiles with unremovable stains, etc.
With Prez Mahinda Rajapakse at the top of his days, the UNP winning next government was a day dream at that time.
Mr Ranil Wickremasinghe is an astute political conspirator. Intelligent as may be, cunning, shrewed and ability to speak like a baby quoting Lichchewee Kingdom” to demonstrate his limited knowledge of Buddhism, ability to play the role of Charlie Chaplin, Ranil found where the money was in Sri Lanka. It was no where else, except with THE LTTE and DIASPORA.
The Go Cart” of the UNP was Tamil Community. Ranil lied to Ven Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero, the monk finally became a Lap Dog of Ranil and Sambandan. The idiotic Sinhalese, particularly the Sinhala Buddhists, overwhelmingly voted for Ranil, on a stage orchestrated by puppets of Sambandan, Maho Gaheshan, Tamil Diaspora, NGO, Norwegian lead anti Buddhist Christian/Catholic bastards.
The LTTE Money Machine worked 24/7. Anura Kumara Dissanayake was given well over USD 2.5 m. to become a Red Elephant. ( The video which shows Anura Kumara receiving money was in the public domain).
For Maithreepala Sirisena this was a blessing in disguise. His first name Maithree” was marketed well, he portrayed himself as ANUTHTHORO PURISA DHAMMA SARATHI”. His brothers are building several 5 star hotels in down South from Wadduwa Region. Anuttaro Purisa Dhamma-Sarathi means that the Buddha is the best teacher who can bring the wayward back into the fold. The Buddha can make people understand with either just one sentence or a whole series of talks, like the time. Maithree played the role, Sobitha gave blessing, Ranil was planning how to pay the Debts.
The strong efforts of Joint Opposition had exposed the UNP and its vault full of stolen wealth is now under investigation. The crooks ostensibly made billions in less than 2 years, causing massive damage to Sri Lankan economy.
The UNP is now planning to make more money, to win the votes at the next election.

Please don’t insult Sobhitha Hamuduruwo. Assuming he did what you say, for what purpose he do it ? Where is his share of money ? He has no sons, no wife, no illegal wives, he could have been mislead but let him rest wherever he is.
I remember when asked where the money come form to defeat Rajapakse, Rathana Thero said ” we have our means” or something similar. It is all Ranil’s work, the biggest theif in our history. It doesn’t mean other theives have become innocent babies.

After THE LTTE and DIASPORA coming into power through back door in January 2015 Ranil found where the BIG money was in Sri Lanka. It was no where else other than CB. So he & other UNP planned to bring Mahendran to rob CB through his son-on-law before August elections. Any kindergarten child in SL could understand with evidence before Bond investigation by 2 COPE committees and Presidential commission. If Ranil & Malik call upon to the PC more information will come out. Wait and see the “magic”

We cannot recognise the UNP of today from the UNP of old times, from DS to JR ! Even Pres Premadasa tried so hard to uplift the lot of the masses, but crashed on INDIAN intervention.
The UNP, Grand Old Party of Lanka, has virtually demised under Ranil and his ‘Crash & Sell’ program, and political ideology wars from abroad.
A UNP Southerner, an admirer of older and better times told me : ‘Ranil has ruined the UNP’.
Ranil has no conscience, it seems. Anything goes for Money, and it is “Money First” all the way, from rebuilding the UNP Headquarters Building “Srikotha” (it was further damaged by angry UNP members during a fight there), to bribing any and all, to the detriment of the Country. Selling off the Country in his “Crash & Sell” program is no trouble for him and his group ….
He should resign from politics. The Country & the People will be better off.
