Sri Lanka’s Plight

The peace that great men reached and kept
Were not attained in sudden flight
They, while their companions slept
Were toiling upwards in the night.
When lesser people came to be in charge of protecting this right,
Not realising the need for security and intelligence so tight,
Began gradually dismantling both of these out of Lanka’s site,
The result was Easter Sunday’s gruesome sight.
Add to this a dysfunctional admin not talking to each other seated or standing,
The writing was on the wall for all to see without any hounding,
At least now, bow to the wanting of Lanka’s people of all standing,
Resign, and the hand the reigns over to others with so much more standing.
