   Million, Billion, Trillion are tied with the metric system. And I have seen our media men very nicely read out the figures correctly in the old Sinhala way (the Indian “Crore” way as we are relatives and cannot escape from them) on the TV channels.

   Time to go with the metric system that we have adopted long time ago.

   On a second thought, I like to ask Dr. Sudath whom I believe was a powerful ex-civil servant, whether it is only the above the sinhalayas have lost. Open your eyes and see: we have lost H’tota for ever to Chinese as a military post; Colombo ECT to Indians; Trinco to US with a corridor to Colombo. They say no records as to what happened between 1604 and 1617 and is considered a dark period.
