The Portuguese Conquest of India and Ceylon was one of the most brutal

The Portuguese conquest of India was one of the most brutal. They carried out a terrible Inquisition in which the Hindus were forcibly converted and then tortured on the suspicion of back-sliding. The conversion itself was gruesome. Christian fanatics razed Hindu temples, butchered Hindu men, and distributed their women to Portuguese soldiers. One of their favored torture technique was to surround the fishing boats early in the morning when the fishermen returned. They would then fire cannons from their naval ships and set the boats ablaze and burn the fishermen to death while their terrified women and children watched in agony from the shores. It was an expression of Christian love in its purest form. The frightened orphans would then convert to Christianity. Xavier, the scumbag whom Christians venerate as a saint, was the one who successfully petitioned for the Inquisition. Brahmins were special targets because they were when seen through the jaundiced and hate-filled Christian eyes, the priests of the devil.

The horror of Portuguese colonial rule lasted 450 years during which the wealth of Goa was plundered to fill the coffers of Portugal. In 1961, India sent her military to throw out the Portuguese. This headline was the response from NYT. Hardly surprising. The West would always vilify India if she refuses to be servile to the West and offer herself for conversion to Christianity. How dare India to throw out a white Christian colonial power? That’s the anger that is reflected in NYT’s headline.

The lies and hate that the western media perpetrates about India and Hindus didn’t arise in a void. It arose from Christianity. It just got progressively worse as India became stronger economically and militarily and rebuilt herself. There’s no difference whatsoever between the western left and right.

………………..

India, the aggressor- This is the headline in the New York Times dated December 19, 1961.
