SRI LANKA AHMADIYYA COMMUNITY INAUGURATES BAITUL KHABEER MOSQUE IN HEART OF THE CITY PUTTALAM.

By the Grace of Allah and the blessing of Ahmadiyya Khalifa’s prayers, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Sri Lanka was enabled to inaugurate a beautiful Mosque in Puttalam on Friday 10January 2025. His Holiness Ahmadiyya Khalifa Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad’s (may Allah be his Helper) Representative Mirza Naseer Ahmad Sahib inaugurated. It was named by His Holiness Ahmadiyya khalifa as Baitul Khabeer. The completed Mosque has two story building with Dome and a Minara. This Mosque has the spacious of worshipping 200 people.
An inaugural event was organized prior to the opening which started with Holy Qurán recitation by N.A. Irfan. The National President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Sri Lanka S. Nizam Khan Sahib in his welcome address briefed the history of Ahmadiyya Community in Puttalam.
He recalled the services rendered by late Kithur Mohideen (Founder of Puttalam Jamaát) and late Buhari Sahib. Late Kithur Mohideen offered a piece of land for the Community in which he himself built a wooden tiny place for worship. Later on, this place developed into a small place for worshippers and started functioning at the time of arrival of late Muhammad U mar H.A in 1980. He also visited Puttalam for several times and made friendly discussions with non-ahmadis. Late Kithur Mohideen’s son Missionary K.M. Munir was stationed in Puttalam for few years in the beginning and Missionary A.B. Musthaq Ahmad joined with him. Currently Missionary M.Z. Munafjan and N.A. Irfan jointly serving.
Markaz (Headquarters) Representative, in his brief address quoted the saying of Ahmadiyya Founder and Promised Messiah, peace be in him, that, if in a place to spread the Islam, then construct a mosque in that place, worshippers will come and pray. If an Ahmadi lives in a place, wherein, a mosque was built, because of that Ahmadi, people of good natured attracted to belief of Ahmadiyya and thus it grows. It is a responsibility for Ahmadis living here to set an example and thus calling others to Allah, Moulana Naseer Ahmad Mirza advised. After the inauguration, Friday Prayer (Jummah) was held. From various places, Ahmadi men, women and children attended in this function.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was founded in 1889 in a small town Qadian, in Punjab, India. Its founder, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) claimed to be the Promised Reformer of the age. Ahmadiyya Community stands for the brotherhood of mankind and tries to establish peace on earth through love, persuasion and tolerance. It is a spiritual community and has no political agenda.
