Colombo, Sept. 25 (Daily Mirror) – Two intelligence officers who neglected the prior warnings on the Easter Sunday bomb attacks have engaged in a repeat performance by neglecting prior warnings on two containers comprising narcotic drugs, SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa told Parliament today.
“The Department of Customs has allowed the clearance of two containers which had arrived from Teheran despite receiving prior information that they contained consignments of drugs. Intelligence units have received prior information about these containers. The same thing happened to the 323 red labelled containers which were released. No probes have been conducted on these to date,” Rajapaksa said.
Prior information has been received by the two intelligence officers who had also neglected prior information they received on the impending Easter Sunday bomb attacks. Some of those who were responsible for the Easter Sunday attacks have been found out. Former President Maithripala Sirisena had to pay compensation to the Easter Sunday victims. Two former IGPs who were also found responsible for the Easter Sunday attacks are in jail today. However, the present government appointed two intelligence officers who had neglected prior warnings on the Easter Sunday attacks to high positions,” the MP also said.
