A Photographic evidence of the gem of the nations CEYLON 1956-1968
Above exchange rates was the hallmark of the then non prejudicial provincial system.
Finally, as depicted below the railways as of 1956 were further evidential of this pluralist harmony.

EG:UK GBP1 = SLR13.3333
= SLR 206.787 Now
is it 6.43% OR (206.787/13.333)x100= 1550.94% Depreciated .
(for example if SLR26.6666 now than 200% depreciated )
October 19th, 2012 at 11:17 pm
lingamAndy – My calculations are based on the compounding effect on the returns each year for the last 44 years. Straight line appreciation/depreciation is not a sound indicator for an economic analysis purposes. Example in 1968 the Rs 13.333, In 1969 it will be at the average 6.43% of Rs 13.3333+0.85733119=14.19063119. So in 1970 it will be 14.19063119+6.43% which is 0.912457586=15.10308878. until 2012.
Hope this clarifies your query.

COUNTRY CURRENCY 1968 2012 % CHANGE
In that case it should be written properly
COUNTRY – CURRNCY – YEARLY RATE OF DEPRICIATION AGAINST THE CURRENCY
Writing “% change” is misleading to reader.
Hope this is helpful to Fahmy Malli.
