Dear Mr. Abbot
The Sri Lankan community of Australia deeply appreciates your sentiments at the recently concluded CHOGM. You stood out as a leader who could not be swayed by proxy propagandists, hell-bent on stymying the emerging prosperous nation of Sri Lanka. You attended CHOGM for what it is meant for to foster partnership with member nations.
The Western block silently watched Sri Lanka terrorised by Tamil Tigers for 30 years. The Tigers were fuelled by their Diaspora, aided by West governments and institutions.‚ Sri Lanka yet managed to crush the world-â„¢s deadliest terrorist outfit.
You were dead right saying it is not Australia-â„¢s role to lecture Sri Lanka but it is more fruitful entering into a dialogue on matters of mutual interest.
