President Maithripala Sirisena arrived in New York on the morning of Thursday, September 24,to attend the 70th sessions of the United Nations General Assembly and was welcomed by a group which included Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera and the Sri Lankan Ambassadors in Washington D.C. and New York. Throughout the presidential election, Sirisena’s choice of attire made headlines and this time Looks like he had given up his signature vest of Modi’s kurta and opted out for Nepalese National costume.

Modi Dress was borrowed from Modi. It was a bullet proof jacket. He sent it back to Modi.

Unfortunately, this man lacks charisma and personality of a leader.. I hate to judge a person the way he (or she) dresses. However, when you are the leader (President..), of a nation, he should not dress like a “Ponnaya”… Hopefully, he will not dress like this when he is going to address the UN Assembly. He should wear the Sinhala National Dress that represents our culture and the country. Perhaps, Mahinda Rajapakse should give him some tips on how to dress and act like a true leader, which Sirisena is not by any means…!

The only disgrace is to see all these previous clowns commenting on the attire of the President of Sri Lanka. The guy just came out of a plane and is being welcomed by sycophants of the Sri Lankan embassy who are trying to lick his arse to try to stay in the USA. I agree with NeelaMahaYoda. This is a toilet mishap. One can see that shirt was inside before. He may have gone to a toilet, could’t find a bucket of water, messed up and forgot to tuck in. It has happened to lot of us in Montessori, as Kinder was called those days.
Sirisena makes me laugh. Could do well in new York as a stand up comedian. We miss Mahinda, man, he had class and charisma. We could call him President or King, he made us so proud. Now we have this duo, a poofter & a comic.

What a pathetic sight! The fellow obviously has no dress sense whatever, and that’s OK except that when he goes to the UN as the President of Sri Lanka, the way he is attired reflects also on the country. Cannot somebody, even now, have a word in his ear and tell him that he has to dress better than this? If he tried to enter even some restaurants in New York dressed as he is in these pictures, they’d probably not let him enter because there is a dress code which applies there, and clearly he does not meet its requirements.
They say that travel broadens the mind. Let’s hope our man returns from NY with some better dress sense than he has so far displayed.

He has this mentality that if you wear a suit you have to speak Enlgish. That is the problem behind
this having no confidence to wear a suit. So he wears a mixture of things. He is ashamed to wear national dress.
It reminds you MR. He had the guts to wear it to any occastion and he was not ashamed of it.
This all goes to show maru sira’s capablity as a leader. When you can’t decide what to wear, how can
