This is a very good suggestion. It will be fun seeing Ranil being removed from the Premiership. He will never go. Sirisena may finally have to give up the leadership of the SLFP to Mahinda.

Mahinda is a Sri Lankan Hero in the eyes of many who live here and abroad. His image was tarnished by false allegations of corruption by the media. This is a well known tactic of the Western Powers. If you repeat a lie several times it is finally believed as gospel truth and you will find many good people swearing by it, even if they do not know the origin of the story. It will be very hard to disprove.

Has anybody still found the hidden Billions yet?. After one year and even with the aid of foreign western governments helping why has nothing being found yet. If f Mahinda stole all this money what is he going to do with it! Maybe have it buried next to him when he dies. Has he bought property abroad like CBK or Ranil to run to when the going gets too hot.

Sirisena is tasked with the work of handing the SLFP back to Bandaranaikes. Therefore, he will not allow Mahinda to lead the party. This must be understood. As Ranil held on to the UNP leadership through defeats, Chandrika wants the party to her family, to hell with its political misfortunes.

The only way to convince the SLFPers that they have no future without Mahinda is to form another party, drive the SLFP to obsolescence and claim its leadership. This is what Chandrika did to the SLFP in 1988 and 1989 and threatened to do same in later elections unless she is taken in and given the driving seat without the ceremonial leadership.

JR Jayawardana was as old and in worse health than Mahinda when he restructured the UNP and led it to the biggest ever election victory of that party in 1977.

If Mahinda delays, all his strong supporters (Wimal, Udaya and Dinesh) will become irrelevant very soon. Thereafter Mahinda will be unable to bargain with the SLFP. Nearing the next national election, SLFPers will put up with Sirisena than take chances. Mahinda’s new party must be established soon or he should retire gracefully before dumped.
