Parliament must summon Secretary to the President, Austin Fernando and question him on the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) report on the bond scam, Executive Director of Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE), Keerthi Tennakoon said yesterday addressing a press conference.

“Parliament has power to do so. Fernando has continuously attempted to mislead people who want to access the PCoI report.”

Tennakoon said that he had written to Fernando on January 18, asking for the complete report of the PCoI. “In response, he said he had sent the report to all MPs. But by January 24, I realised around 5,000 pages were missing and when people ask for the full report, Fernando says that the report is with the National Archives.

“Fernando also stated that the AG and the Bribery Commission had asked him not to reveal information that was vital for the continuing investigations.”
