The article in the bottom half of the page is focused on the draw successfully achieved by Sri Lanka in the First Test match played against England at Lords.

The author of the article is Devasiri P. Hevavidana (originally from Galle) but now based in London. He is an old Anandian who contributes to the Rivira newspaper regularly on the scene in London.

In the last four paragraphs of the article, the author quotes Australian spin wizard Shane Warne as saying that there were two heroes in the Test match namely Nuwan Pradeep who defended his wicket in the last five balls of the tense match and the DRS (Decision Review System)  which made it possible for Nuwan Pradeep to successfully appeal against a wrong decision given by Australian umpire and former Test player Paul Reifel.

The writer thereafter proceeds to reprimand the ICC for not giving due credit to an Asian ( and fellow Sri Lankan) for the latter’s innovative concept ‘ player referral’ which is the lynch pin of the DRS.
In the very last paragraph of the article the writer Hevavidana refers to both batsman Nuwan Pradeep and the author of the DRS as heroes ( ‘ viraya’ ) and says that they deserve the applause and gratitude of the entire nation.
