A police officer attached to the Settikulama police station was shot and wounded while on patrol at Ulukkkulama in Vavuniya early last morning, police said.
While the injured policeman was admitted to the Vavuniya hospital for treatment, no arrests have been made so far, the Police added
Four police personnel had been patrolling at the time of the shooting

I know this area very well. It was CHEDDIKULAM. Even the Railway Station was Cheddikulam. Now they call it Settikulama. This area has GEMS. I had leased out 100 acres from the Vavuniya Kachcheri, for Agriculture. I lost all my Savings. The land was between Cheddikulam on the Mannar Road, and Poorvasanakulam on the Jaffna Road. The LTTE killed all the Sinhalese Village Farmers in this section. They were poor innocent villagers.

Dind’t I tell you from the beginning? First shot begins the next EELAM as we have already warned it will happen if these traitors come to power. Yahapalanaya planted western backed Tamil agents cunningly in to important positions like CJ,Governors,Central Bank Boss,Ministers etc. If anything happens now they will put the blame on Rajapksa’s. The Americans think that we are like Myanmar. They creep in to our country pretending to help and slowly and cunningly they will destroy it before we open our eyes.
Mighty Sinhalese vanquished the murderer and his gang of murderers and helped to build the country to a high standard and allowed our citizens to live happily and in peace. We were able to eat rice three times and we walked in carpeted roads,our village children had the opportunity same as the city schools and passed exams with high marks better than the city children. Got new opportunities to build our future,new schools,new hospitals,new jobs,new enterprises,new thinking,new vision from the EX-leader etc and now all that has been stopped suddenly because of unexpected change of Govt we had to face suddenly.
New leaders are telling us to eat bread and butter.They tell us to drink Coriander and eat Dhal with rice. While the Tamils and Muslims plan & prepare to take over half of our land, these Jarapalanaya thieves are telling us Sinhalese to be calm,be quite,just ignore and they will do something about it. They did the same last time and will do the same this time too if we dont wake up from our bad dream. They are trying to put our Sinhala heroes behind bars and keep their mouth shut for ever while they help to divide the country to please the Americans,the west and the Indians.
The time has come for us to stand unitedly. This is our country (Sinhalese) forget the petty politics and join hands together and stand tall same like before to kick out these invaders and enemies from our land. Do not think twise. prepare to die for our Motherland and save it from all LTTE sympathizers and friends including this new Govt who are more sympathetic to Tamils & Muslims. Already they have one Chief Minister in the East (Muslim) and another in North ( Tamil) So they are set now and the next will be the 13 which these Jarapalanaya promised to implement. When that happens I do not know what will be the position of Sinhala nation and us Sinhalese. Wake up before it’s too late.

So here we have it – it seems so! (but I fervently hope not, at the same time!)
I, for one, was damn apolitical in the last PE to an extent, except, of course, I stated quite bluntly in this forum as well as in a few others the danger of MY3 getting into bed with CBK and Runi-nil, the nincompoops who have done immense harm to our beloved motherland’s national security during their days of power.
That being said…
As expected with the well orchestrated (and well funded) “regime change,” and with all the promises given to the Tamil racist-separatist camp long before the PE, and of course also with MY3’s bending-over-backwards appease the these very racist-separatists-maggots (who evidently voted for him en-masse, including I hear from the barely-teen to great-granny-in-clutches!), I quite expected this type of “early warning” to come…the early warning whereby the first attack targets would be the SL Police.
Just like in the 70’s to late 80’s where GOSL Police stations/garrisons were brutally and mercilessly attacked – yes, LTTE did not take any prisoner then, even the wounded SL Policemen were meticulously scanned and any wounded was shot point-blank per the 1st hand accounts I’ve had).
This is how we began to lose a part of our motherland…as soon SL Police ceased to exist in NE in not only in SL constitution law-&-order writ, but also in outright physical presence!
This is how, of course, the parasitic racist-eelamist-maggots got nourishment to go from strength-to-strength, to in short order to get bold and start attacking SLA, SLN, SLAF, to a point ultimately where they were able to basically paralyze our beloved motherland. That terrorism caused paralysis was such that there was massive destruction and emerging destitution nationwide and we were then in real danger of becoming the next Sudan or Somalia.
It is truly sad to see how a segment of our very own Sri Lankans (the patriotic Buddhist Sinhela ones that I think) have forgotten this horrific recent history of our past!

Indeed, that was a time that this rabidly racist “we-Tamil” Prabhakaran dog virtually had his terrorist army ruling over 40% of our motherland – not to mention that he also ruled the rest of the nation as people were just frozen-scared to get about anywhere not knowing when and where his suicide/claymore bombs would go off, to blow them to smithereens!

They were in various colours, red blue, green, magenta, yellow etc. I/we collected them and went and showed people at Bullion Exchange. They were very excited and asked us, from where we got them. We did not tell, but insisted to know what they were, whether it was glass or stone. Then they told us that there will be a lot of Gems in the surrounding areas, where we found these pieces.

SW, the name ‘CHEDDIKULAM’ written in English is the transliteration of the Tamil word for Settikulama, with the last vowel having been dropped.
In Tamil the letter that represents ‘s’ could represent ‘ch’ and ‘j’ in addition to ‘s’; similarly the letter that represent ‘t’ could represent ‘d’ resulting in their being pronounced differently depending on their positions in the word, namely what follows them.
My guess is that these are due to the British map makers having had Tamil staff providing the spelling for the place names.
Although Sinhala orthography allows you to write Cheddikulam as well as Settikulama Tamil does not.
This is my understanding; it has always been Settikulama transliterated into English via Tamil.

During the time I was there, all the name boards were Cheddikulam. That is why Iam prompted to emphasise it. The Town, the Railway Station, etc. There was a Muslim Mudalali in the town, Salihu Mohammed, who was supposed to be the richest. He owned around 400 goats, around 300 cattle, around 500 acres paddy land etc. I have seen him coming home after working in the paddy fields, in amude and full of mud. For a rich man to work in the fields, that was very admirable. . His status was built on his material wealth.. Tamil names are changed with politicians trying to impress. For instance, Bombay, became Mumbai, and Calcutta became Kolkata. So please believe me,Cheddikulam was Cheddikulam at the time I was there. Case closed.

One or two incidents like this should justify the country to retain the military presence in the North but must be done in away not to inconvenience people. Situation is similar to present security situation is in NI where some diehards are still about.
I would get some advice from the British security agencies, how to set about a similar system where the state apparatus in control with out an aparent presence in the street. There are able British security personal in retirement, who may even have their own consulting services.
We need a similar plan for the whole country as it upset the hardworking and tax paying business people. Good example is, whenever a President visits Kandy, there is an absurd military presence in the street and when the President recently visited a funeral house the main road to the city was closed for a hour to the fury of the locals. Most absurd security operation was to search the poor pedestrians at a security check point while the motor traffic is unchecked. We brought this to the notice of the police without any effect. It amazes us how we managed to finish off the terrorists and I think this was mainly due to the professionalism of the field commanders.
We must learn from people with a similar terrorist history and who are in control.
