මේ හේතුවෙන් විධායක බලතල අහෝසි කර 18 වැනි සංශෝධනයද ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට තිබූ අවස්ථාවද රටට අහිමි වනු ඇතැයි අගමැතිවරයා එජාප කෘත්‍යාධිකාරී මණ්ඩලය හමුවේ කීය.
If the No-Confidence motion is passed through the parliament he will immediately dissolved the parliament Prime Minister Ranil Wicremasinghe said today at meeting held at UNP headquarters in Colombo. The main Opposition UPFA with 114 signatures of members handed over a No Confidence Motion against Public Order, Disaster Management and Christian Affairs Minister John Amaratunga yesterday. They alleged that he had failed to fulfill his ministerial duties.
Minister Amaratunga’s conduct in connection to a recent incident that occurred in the Wattala Pradeshiya Sabha and also not taking action to prevent post election violence against political opponents has proved that he has failed to fulfill his duties properly. Therefore, the UPFA during its parliamentary group meeting decided to bring a No Confidence Motion against the Minister, Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva told a media briefing held at the parliamentary complex yesterday.
He said the signatures of 20 parliamentarians were sufficient to bring a No Confidence Motion against a Minister. However, 114 UPFA MPs have signed the Motion which was handed over to the Secretary General of Parliament, Dhammika Dasanayake.

Up until now, I was under the impression that the sole authority to dissolve parliament is the president.
Isn’t this tantamount to overstepping into executive branch and exercising powers that he doesn’t have? Aren’t we deserve to get an answer from the president about this? We really want to know who is in control of the government; Ranil or My3.
Now by declaring that he will dissolve the parliament in the event of passing a no-confidence against John Amarathunga, PM Ranil has threatened the legislature where many do not want to see this happen because for some, they won’t reelect, and for others, that will prevent them becoming eligible for the lucrative pension.
Based on this statement of PM, it is a golden opportunity for the SLFP members to bring a no-confidence motion against existing PM Ranil and cut him to the size he deserves.

I too thought it is the president who has the authority to dissolve the parliament.

Ranil is saying indirectly MPS to not to vote. Because, if he dissolve the parliament, though he can not, new MPs with less than five years service lose their pension. SO, Ranil threatened them indirectly. I think, it is worth while to get rid of Ranil.
Dumb Sajith, corrupt Karu and Ranil are all useless. It seems, Ravi Karunanayake is better as the opposition leader.

All UNPer’s are dumb & Dumbers no question about it and also horrible thieves. All those thieves have court cases pending and they pretend they are some kind of Saints. UNP ass lickers JVP too are the same. They have forgotten how they massacred hundreds of innocent youths and how they robed banks and other properties during their bloody uprising in 70’s & 80’s. People won’t buy their fairy tales and lies anymore. They don’t have any powerful vote base in any part of the land. They are good only to talk like Satharakarayo.
Ranil always used thugs to intimidate opponents and he do not care the country or it’s people as long as he has all the luxury to live a luxury life. Sajith is trying to be like his father but cannot because he doesn’t have that charisma and ideas except his dirty mouth. No UNPer is good to tell good.They were all bunch of nuts who fool the people with their lies and mud slinging. People will answer them soon just give some time.
