First please let me name the FFF. *WIMAL WEERAWANSA*, *VASUDEVA NANAYAKKARA*, *DINESH GUNAWARDENE*, AND *UDAYA GAMMANPILA*. ALSO THE MOST REVERED MAHA SANGHA, FOR EXTENDING A VERY JUDICIAL TOUCH TO THE EFFORTS, TO SEE AN END TO UNILATERAL GOVERNANCE, by multi buffoonery.
Me, and many many Millions of Sinhalese, would wish to convey from our inner-most heart, the appreciation to the most revered Maha Sangha and the above mentioned Gentleman, for disturbing the Ocean Plates, to cause ripples to form an impending TSUNAMI, to wash out a bogus administration, deceptively conferred on the unsuspecting innocent Sinhalese People of Sri Lanka, at the Nugegoda Man’s Jamboree, held recently. It caused ‘ butterflies in the stomach to many. Some went ballistic, seeing the Crowds. Yet some who ridiculed that 5000 people will not be there, shattered their character into smithereens, when they failed to honour their pledges. It was an exposure of how SOME POLITICIANS can lie through their teeth,
All the above who organised this Jamboree, have hearts of Burning Patriotism, Resolve of Steel, a Fearless Formidable Attribute, to take any Bull by the Horns. We, the Sinhalese look forward to see the ” Nugegoda Man” keeping the same momentum, and not losing speed to resolve some malignant problems faced by the Sinhalese and the beautiful Sri Lanka in general. With great deference, I wish to place some severe malignant problems facing the Sinhalese, that has to be addressed IMMEDIATELY. No malice whatsoever, but the under-mentioned MUST be addressed as PRIORITY.
FIRST MALIGNANT PROBLEM, COMING DOWN THE YEARS, NOT SOLVED OUT OF FEAR, OF THE SINHALA POLITICIANS.
THE TAMIL PROBLEM, THE TAMIL ISSUE, THE TAMIL HOMELAND, THE TAMIL MOTHERLAND, THE TAMIL DIGNITY, THE TAMIL GENOCIDE, THE TAMIL THIS, AND TAMIL THAT.
SUGGESTION ONE.
When the Nugegoda Man, we all know who he is, comes in with the punch, valour and valiant efforts of those who made it possible for him to come back to his saddle, he must “get to work”.
Make immediate arrangements to re-habilitate the 12,000 Sinhalese in the NORTH, who were ethnically cleansed by the megolomaniac. He must give them their land, build houses for them, give them seed money, to start their new lives, just the way he gave the Tamils with such generosity, and love. Well he must not forget the way his love was reciprocated, with a kick up his ass. He must harness the help of the Maha Sangha, in this MERITORIOUS ACT, along with all those who are willing and able to give a hand to complete this effort. Any Sinhalese who lost their land and homes in the EAST too should be re-habilitated in the same manner.
SUGGESTION TWO.
The Nugegoda Man, must ensure that the 100,000 muslims who were ethnically cleansed from the NORTH, with 24 Hours notice, would be re-habilitated back in the North, with the same aforesaid conditions. Nothing more, nothing less.
THE IMPACT ON SUGGESTIONS ONE AND TWO.
Once the re-habilitation process is complete, it will create a harmonius ethnic society, where tamil this, and tamil that, talk will be no more. It will nullify the endless villification of the Sinhalese perpetually. Simultaneously, the Army Bases have to increase in the North and the East, to safeguard all ethnicities. Broken and Damaged places of Worship has to be restored, period. Sinhalese Schools have to come up, in keeping with the dignity of little children. Sinhalese Universities have to bloom, and THERE SHOULD BE NO SEPARATE SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES FOR TAMILS ONLY, OR MUSLIMS ONLY. If this discrimination exists right now, it should be corrected immediately, and they should be made muti-ethnic. FEAR IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
More Sinhalese should be given Land, Houses, and seed money to start fresh livelihoods in the North and East. The Maha Sangha should now come and give a helping hand. The entire NORTH and EAST should be MULTI-ETHNIC.
SUGGESTION THREE.
Any Politician in SRI LANKA, who talks of divisive homelands, and attempt to have ethnic enclaves, should be charged for Treason. Equally true, if they wear their under pants and run to foreign countries, to complain about Sri Lanka, they should be arrested and charged for treason. If there is no Parliamentary legislation, to check these excesses, there should be laws promulgated right away, and put in place. Also, THE TRI-FORCES AND THE POLICE, AND NATIONAL SECURITY INSTITUTIONS SHOULD NOT BE MADE YOUR KITCHEN, TO COOK YOUR OWN RECIPIES OF RULES AND LAWS. No Politicians family and kith and kin should ever attempt to influence, any Institution, to breach the Laws of the Country, Period. THE LAWS SHOULD COME IN PLACE IMMEDIATELY, IF THEY ARE NON EXISTENT NOW. THEY SHOULD BE SEVERELY PUNISHED AND JAILED, WITHOUT FEAR.
STOP LICKING BOOTS OF FOREIGN HORSE FLIES COMING INTO THE COUNTRY TO “”MAKE ADVICE””. NO SERVILITY ANYMORE TO INDIA AND OTHER STINKING INTERLOPERS.
Other progressive actions can take place simultaneosly, without impedence to the above.
A REASONABLE REQUEST AND A WORD OF ADVICE:-
IF THE “NUGEGODA MAN” CANNOT ATTEND TO THE SUGGESTIONS ABOVE, JUST FORGET COMING BACK TO YOUR SADDLE. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE THE SWEAT AND EFFORT OF THE FEARLESS FORMIDABLE FOURSOME, AND THE EFFORTS OF THE MAHA SANGHA TO LEND A HAND TO LIFT YOU OUT OF THE CLIFF YOU HAVE FALLEN TO. Namaste: What we have to do is unite and lead a freedom struggle against the Indian imperialists. There are less than 40 million Indian colonists in the world in the Indian Empire and it is not hard for India to absorb them in to their 1,3 billion population. British did absorb millions of British who retuned home from their tropical colonies. If India is not prepared to do so British should absorb them as they did with the Indian colonists of Uganda. GEETH !! Appreciate your concern. That is a different kettle of fish. If I introduced that subject here, it would go too long, as it has to be technically explained. There is an article about the 13th Amendment. There is a lengthy explanation, why it is disastrous to the country. Probably, I will follow it up.
The 13th virtually gets nullified, with an intensive multi ethnic population. So we have to dismantle the non existent Tamil issues, one by one. Removal of the 13th, is not a guarantee that the TAMIL MENACE will stop. We have to stop it once and for all.
For Tamils, this is a profession, to keep on collecting money to line the pockets of the Leaders. Let us take one by one.

Every word of your article must be adhered by the Nugegoda Man if he wish to come back. He cannot play with his kith and kin anymore. He should work for the people and for the country specially for the Sinhala Buddhist people of this land. This is our Sinhala land and it should be forever.

The Sinhala had always been good to the Tamils. The blame for unfortunate riots cannot be put to the Sinhala, it was a case of Sinhala being provoked by the Tamils resulting in a backlash. The Sinhala did not approve those acts of a few Sinhala who went to extremes burning and killing of the Tamils. These excesses were committed for purpose of looting rather than for the hatred of the Tamils.
During those riots there were those Sinhala people who helped the Tamil families as best as they could taking risks themselves. Therefore this effort by the Tamils of the diaspora, who fled the country directly from Jaffna without ever having lived with and known the Sinhala people in the south, is to demonise the Sinhala people for the purpose of justifying a separate Eelam.
It was the Chelvanayagams, Ponnambalams, Sundaralinghams who started Communal issue for political purposes, to be the leaders of the Tamils and control them according to their sacrosanct caste system.
The Sinhala people had always extended their hands of friendship despite the cruelty of those Tamils who paraded the communal difference and later the terror let loose by the Tamil terrorists.
The Sinhala politicians acceded to their Communal cry even mutilating the lion flag of Sri Lanka( which should be the symbol of Unity) by adding two strips of Orange and Green which only accentuated the difference, rather the unity of all people without a majority and a minority as the Nugegoda Man said clearly and distinctly, which words were pearls before the swines of the TNA and the Diaspora.

What Ranjith says in the third para of his comment was absolutely correct. Let me tell you: quite a large number of very strong and connected senior party supporters tried their best to put Mr. MR on track after the 2010 elections. I know this fact very well. He (MR) SNUBBED all of them. But he trusted and took into confidence and formed alliance with the newly found “opportunists” and carried on regardless. He paid a heavy price and that is how the nature works.
But; Has he learned the lesson? Not yet, in my view. In one of the latest moves, he has started visiting all those who are alleged to have committed crimes and confined to prison custody, one among whom ( an ex Deputy Minister) is charged with murder during the elections. Not only that he makes public announcements from those institutions and media, both print and electronic have started the “hip hop”. Does he or his close associates realize the “Public Opinion” that is getting created, especially among the “Young Voter Bank”?. One of the accusations most publicly directed at him during his tenure as President was “disregard” shown to law and order of the country. Now with these “visits” to alleged criminals once again confirm the public perception of him. In my opinion he MUST STOP that and select his PRIORITIES. These “VISITS” and public announcements must not be his priorities and those would further damage his image. Allow those “allege crimes” to be looked after by the Law Enforcement and the Legal System of the country, if he wants to be a future Political Leader. If he doesn’t aspire to be that, he is certainly free to “Defend” them as a lawyer through the legal system of the country.
Then what he MUST DO and what are his PRIORITIES? This is the time to show his “STATESMANSHIP” in getting involved in the very many changes that are taking place in the country. The people want to hear and see what his contributions are, for or against, the changes that are being introduced to the Governing System of the country. He must NOT particularly get over-carried by the “Publicity Stunts” played by “Otherwise interested” parties and media stunts generated by another group of “interested”, interests. He must, very importantly “REFLECT” upon himself and get rid of that “EGOISM” he cultivated over the years and settle down to get involved in governance and show his caliber in handling matters as at present and for the future. That is what the millions of people, other than those who attended the Nugegoda rally, want to SEE. If he does not start “AFRESH” he will definitely be in the history.

SA Kumar : The Riots of 1983 : We were there and lived through it . Here is a brief answere to your query, once again, as we have been through all this before : In 1983 the world was in the thick of the Cold War. During the Riots in Sri Lanka, no curfew was declared till the 3rd day. JRJ was NOT ALLOWED to declare curfew or move in any way. It was an ARRANGED RIOT. J.N.Dixit (called the Vice Roy of Lanka) was in charge of JRJ /Lanka at that time. Dixit was a Chennai born Catholic man. He died of a heart attack when the Tsunami hit Lanka and the LTTE Sea Tigers were removed along with P’Karan & Pottu Amman who were in a church by the sea in the East Coast on the day after X’mas in Dec 2004.
The Riots themselves were organised, I now believe, by the then Minister for Industries, Cyril Mathew, in obediance to Dixit/pro-west wishes.

The Riots of 1983 enabled Tamil folk to leave Lanka as refugees to the west to form a pro-west community from SE Asia, living in the west. Canada allows only Refugees to come in freely, no questions asked. Refugees are looked after right from the point of arrival there. This is Canadian Refugee policy since WW II, now used by Tamils of Lanka. Some Tamil folk want and like Riots in Lanka – it enables them to migrate freely to the more salubrious west and also leave Caste matters far behind in Tamil Nadu. It’s born again time for migrating Tamils.

Dear Susanth: Having contributed my comment on Ranjith’s comment, I come back to your main article. The caption of it starting with; “In appreciation………and the Fearless, Formidable,Foursome and Patriots….” However, in the opening sentence you abbreviated it to “FFF” and left out “P” denoting the “Patriots”. Is it a “Premonition”?. Also, you forgot about the “FIFTH” who read out that “statement” of Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse, whom I believe was the “architect” of that document. We also know of him and his “Concerted efforts” to realize the 13th Amendment. Anyway, without going into all that, let us have a hearty laugh of these “commissions” and “omissions”. That lets us to be very relaxed and calm our nerves.
However, I appreciate and concur with your suggestions. This resettlement of the “Displaced” was one of the most important steps that Mr. MR & Co. entirely ignored. He was either dissuaded or prevented from taking that most wanted step at the most opportune time. If all the Sinhala and Muslim people who were “ordered out” of their properties by LTTE were “replaced” along with those of the Tamils who lost equally, we would have even sought the assistance of the UN Agencies to do that and get them involved, “invoking” their own “paradigms”. That step, if taken, would have justified our military presence too for an extended period of complete settlements and stabilization. We, as a Nation and a Country “LOST” heavily because of that NEGLIGENCE on the part of the administration of MR. MR. Can we excuse the “Authorities” for that LOSS?
Now, we have a much BIGGER problem associated with that. If any action is taken to give effect to those settlements, “resistance” and “rights violation” complains will galore. Also having that in mind and being very conscious of any future action leading to that, Tamil Nadu Authorities are insisting on the “REFUGEES” who were supposed to have “Fled” the North and East to be settled in their “original” places. Have we any “records” of such people who fled the country and what where their original settlements were? So in the “GUISE” of “REFUGEES” from the North and East of Sri Lanka, thousands of Tamil Nadu (South Indians) will be “EXPORTED” to be settled down in what ever the land available. Do not forget, there is an “army” of children born to the “Refugees” who have not being “identified” belonging to any country, including India. We know how thousands of South Indians have been “exported” to very many countries in the “guise” of Sri Lankans affected by the “war” situation; because they speak the similar dialect and claimed to have lost all identification documents. This same “operation” will be in place as and when the “REFUGEES” based in Tamil Nadu are “sent back” to Sri Lanka.
Just imagine the MAGNITUDE of this MASSIVE PROBLEM. Who created it and who are there to handle it? Will these PATRIOTS in the company of some of the “Disguised” separatists would handle it? So let us understand, recognize and appraise those working their hearts out of bringing back anybody to Govern us. Let us not be FOOLED anymore. So, in place or in addition to these “rallies”, isn’t it opportune for all the PATRIOTS to get constructively involved in solving the problems created “yesterday” and “plan” for the future. We have had enough of “MAKING KINGS”.

Executive powers to be slashed under new constitutional reforms?

According to the proposed constitutional reforms currently under discussion, the President will always act on the advice of the Prime Minister, however may request the Prime Minister to reconsider advice given to him and request Parliament to reconsider a Bill presented to him for assent, sources said.
The nineteenth amendment to the Constitution primarily aimed at abolishing executive presidency in the country is expected be tabled in Parliament next month.
President Maithripala Sirisena had pledged greater democratic reforms in his election manifesto as the opposition unity candidate. His 100-day programme envisages to slash the authoritarian powers of his predecessors.
According to information received by Ada Derana, the following proposals for constitutional reform are currently under discussion by the political parties represented in parliament:
The President will be the Head of State, the Head of the Executive and the Commander in Chief of the armed forces.
The President shall always, except in the case of the appointment of the Prime Minister or as otherwise required by the Constitution, act on the advice of the Prime Minister or of such other Minister as has been authorized by the Prime Minister.
The President may require the Prime Minister and such Minister to reconsider advice given to him and may require Parliament to reconsider a Bill presented to him for assent.
He shall act on advice given after reconsideration and shall give assent to a Bill passed after reconsideration.
Presidential immunity does not extend to acts or omissions of the President in his official capacity. The Speaker/Chair of the Council of State shall act for the President.
The term of office of the President shall be 5 years. Mode of election of the President will not be changed. This will be a matter for the next Parliament. The President may be removed by passing a no- confidence motion with a 2/3 majority. Present impeachment provisions will be deleted.
The Prime Minister will be the Head of the Government. The President shall appoint as Prime Minster the Member of Parliament, who, in his opinion, is most likely to command the confidence of Parliament.
The President may also appoint a Deputy Prime Minister on the advice of the Prime Minister.
The number of Ministers shall not exceed 30. The total number of Ministers of State and Deputy Ministers shall not exceed 40.
Where the parties with the highest and second highest number of seats agree to take part in a Government of National Unity, Parliament may bring a resolution to increase the above mentioned numbers to not more than 45 and 55 respectively for the duration of the Government of National Unity.
The term of Parliament shall be 05 years. Parliament may be dissolved during the first 4 years and 6 months only upon a resolution to that effect being passed by a 2/3 majority.
Provisions relating to the Constitutional Council (CC) and independent institutions, repealed by the 18th Amendment, will be reinstated subject to certain changes.
The Audit Service Commission and the National Procurement Commission are added to the list of independent institutions. The CC shall obtain the views of the Chief Justice, the Minister of Justice, the Attorney-General and the President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka when considering appointments to the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
Bills shall be published in the Gazette 14 days before the first reading. Bills will be certified by the President. There will be no urgent Bills.
The members of the Public Service Commission, National Police Commission, Human Rights Commission, Commission to investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption and Finance Commission, shall cease to hold office on the date on which the 19th Amendment becomes law”.

Yes he should first study what went wrong in the last Presidential election,then he should think ” what will be my next plan whether I go back to politics or stay at home on retirement. If he is coming back then he must first listen to the Majority Sinhala patriots and work according to their wishes not to work against them. He should be away from Drug lords,Wrong doer’s and un-greatful worms like Tamils & Muslims who have openly reject him in the last Presidential elections.
Scrap 13,Resettlement of Sinhalese and Muslims in the North and East, Arrest & punish anyone who campaign for separatism or division. Change the voting pattern, Investigate Corruption on both main parties, Investigate vote rigging,Bribery,Money laundering during the elections etc. and many more.

It appears like some constructive dialogue can be generated without the aggressive “PATRIOTS”. Otherwise it is monologue only, all going with the enigma HEIL HITLER.
I believe Lankaweb should not ban anyone as long as they adhere to the stated condition “We believe in Free Speech, Right of Expression that Creates Platform for Dialogue. ………………….comments will be deleted forthwith and contributor’s membership will be cancelled immediately. ”
Nothing can be achieved by supressing expression. What is wrong in pointing out common errors by politicians ?

GEETH !!I know that you say in all good faith, that Trincomalee should be the Capitol of Sri Lanka. TRINCO actually is a Heritage site. It is a vast place and Trinco has Sri Lankas Deepest Natural Harbours, many of them, which the WEST is eyeing to have the Diego Garcia shifted there, after the Lease is over somewhere in the 2020s. This will be suicidal, if any of our Political Monkeys and Political Donkeys and Political Imbeciles, even keep silent over a suggested clandestine overture is made.
Iam unable to envisage how the Capitol Colombo could be shifted to Trincomalee. I have no clue about the logistics involved.
I would like to add, that the Government should, settle Sinhalese as much as possible, to live with other ethnicities. Sinhalese should be the major community, amongst others. Infrastructure to accommodate Sinhalese has to be well thought of and given high priority. I believe this is your good thought too.

My problem is; every one knows lots of history: But do not want to write about PRAMADASA and HIS WIFE’s Part. This is what happened. PRAMADAS’s wife went with her THUG army and demanded from every shop keeper KAPPAN. 90% of the shop keepers gave the kappan. Police caught some of the Pramadas’s WIFE’S thugs bur PRAMADASE got the released. Thus, KAPPAN Paying shops were not burned down. JRJ DID THE RIGHT THING. DID YOU KNOW WHAT TAMIL THUGS DID IN JAFFNA? IF IS SO; LET’S WRITE ABOUT IT.

to learn and speak Malayalam in Kerala

You were right in advising him to CALM DOWN. Had he listened, some of these could have been avoided.
I have NOT made corruption allegations against MR, BR, GR, NR, SR, CR, etc.
As I said before corruption IS OK as long as NATIONAL SECURITY is protected. But the problem was NATIONAL SECURITY.

Thanks for the reply. I agree that “unsubstantiated corruption charges (mud slinging) ” shall not be allowed.
I am not associated with “Facebook” and I don’t take any delight in mud slinging. But I delight in educating, convincing people.
On the other hand , there is a corruption commission functioning now and people can send complaints there.
I don’t know about others, but If you can show ONE such charges I made for you to black mark me, I will say “GOOD MAN” to you, Sir.
Actually, I do have a lot of things with evidence to write a series of letters (if you dare to publish them) but I don’t do that as it definitely involve others, my friends and their very close relatives. If people read these a lot of people will change. Without 100% knowing that the final result will be beneficial to the country I can’t do it anyway.
But I am just asking for “free speech” to people who do not approve return of Rajapaksas , with well known reasons to them- with only for the noble cause of betterment of the country and especially the Sinhala nation. It is hard for them not to speak out against COMPLETE MISLEADING material on websites.

The Tamils, always took the Sinhala Politicians for a ride. First reason was that Sinhalese have always been a very accommodating lot. Secondly, the Sinhala Politicians never ever suspected the Tamils of bringing the Country to this situation. They should have taken the hint “”little now, more later “” That should have given a RED SIGNAL to the Sinhala Politicians. It was not to be. Well, the present generation of Politicians are facing the music.

The West will continue to more or less govern both India & Lanka using the British ‘divide & rule’ principle, using churches etc to get the job done. It is mainly Britain/EU group that is prancing around behind the scenes as General Elections are due from May 7 onwards. You will see how the GSP imposed on garments and fish from Lanka will be lifted soon by the EU now that Sir Ranil is on the throne of Exec PM. You can see how amenable even the Golden Key company has become with the UNP in charge !

Susantha: I agree. One of the reasons that I see with the Singhalese is a “strength” that is also a “weakness”. Singhalese in general are very accommodating. They do not feel a sense of threat to their identity or culture. they do not act “defensively” and by that allow aspects one does not see across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or even in China. One sees the exact opposite with the Tamils who feel as if they are “persecuted” even though their culture has defined South India, plays a major role in India, have their own nation state, have a global voice, and are aggressive in Sri Lanka. Yet everything they say is “defensive”. “we are harassed”. “pit rights have been violated”, “we have been marginalized” so on and so forth as they make inroads across Sri Lanka with an accommodating Singhalese population.
