Mahinda rejects Mangala allegations

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa today denied allegations by Foreign Minister Mangala Samarweera that he had siphoned off state monies during his tenure and that his family held assets worth US$18 billion overseas.
In making that statement about my family’s supposed USD 18 billion fortune, minister Samaraweera took the precaution of adding that he does not know whether this information is correct or not. By covering himself in that manner, fiction can be passed off as fact, Rajapaksa said in a release today.

USD 18 billion belonging to the Rajapaksa family Foreign minister Mangala Samaraweera said at a press conference yesterday that they have received information from foreign intelligence agencies to the effect that I, my wife, sons and brothers had amassed a fortune of 18 billion US dollars which had been concealed in secret offshore accounts and front companies overseas. There was a time when any large house that was being built in Colombo or hotel that was being built anywhere in the country was supposed to belong to members of my family. Such propaganda cannot be carried out now, so our political opponents have resorted to talking about money stashed overseas.

OMG ! $18 Billion (not even in Millions $ or SL Rupees, but Billions of $$s). The FALSE allegations are getting more and more ludicrous as the days pass.
Every person who utters FALSE statements against former GoSL members should be TAKEN TO COURTS AND CHARGED MILLIONS OF RUPEES IN DAMAGES (CHARACTER DEFORMATION).
This is the best way to stop this stupid game of the new illegal govt members.

If allegations are not true MR must sue Kolugala for 18 billion dollars of damage. As easy as this. But he is not doing it, just telling people , which he kept doing since 2010 (on other issues such as British Genocides in Sri Lanka but never bold enough to tell that at the CHOGM).

Helaya, MR must wake up and create a nation wide risk analyses and create a baseline cyber security profile. Must tell the people North to South to East to West that this government was NOT created by Sri Lanka Constitution and the election should be NULL-AND-VOID. Election Department should be only to run the election and not the security of the country. Late JRJ gave a great constitution to Nation, NOT the UNP or the SLFP, but all the parties. JRJ resigned from the UNP. Helaya tis time you woke up some Sri Lankans. I will do my best. It was OBAMA that destroyed the SL Constitution. Mangala, RAINL PUNK and CBK was there for him. Yes, as Independent says MR should man up and take this poofter to courts for defamation of character. Just saying he has covered himself by saying whether this information is correct or not is not enough. It is obvious that this poofter is going all out to instill doubt in the minds of the voters by all those unproven allegations, but not taking action against him is creating those doubts. MR must stop by being defensive and go on the offensive against those garapalanaya crooks.
