No Confidence Motion against Ranil Prompted by Bond issue

He made these comments with regard to Central Bank Governor, Arjuna Mahendran who is allegedly involved in the controversial treasury bonds issue, which caused a loss of Rs 45 billion according to Gammanpila.
The leader of the National Freedom Front (NFF) and Parliamentarian, Wimal Weerawansa also expressed the same concern at the Kurunegala rally last Friday (8). He said, “The true opposition hopes to submit a No Confidence Motion against the Prime Minister during the course of the week.
This will lead to a quick dissolution of Parliament, thus it is prudent to prepare for general elections.”
Although most MPs have not yet voiced their support for the No Confidence Motion against the Prime Minister, Gammanpila stated that he is confident of garnering support. He said, “The opposition MPs made a request to remove the Central Bank Governor and 114 signatures were obtained to see this through. However, the Prime Minister did not heed the request. Instead he appointed a committee made up of his colleagues who cleared Mahendran. He did not appoint a proper Parliamentary Select Committee to investigate it. I have confidence that those 114 MPs will support this move. In addition, there are also ministers who voiced their concerns about the Mahendran case, including the Cabinet Spokesperson and Health Minister, Rajitha Senaratne.”
Meanwhile Deputy Minister of Investment Promotions, Eran Wickramaratne said that the government will present the report to Parliament and the opposition can read it and call for a Parliamentary Committee on the issue.
“I think there should be a discussion on the matter and I think this should be investigated in a transparent manner,” he said.

They should continue with no confidence motions against Ravi Karunanayagam, Mangala Samaraweera along with a case for defam of the good name of the former Ptresident. If possible an impeachment for the President Maithripala Sirisena

Not only did Ranil installed Arjun Mahendran (nephew ?), Governor Central Bank, do the scam of depleting the country of Rs 45 Billion, Mahendran was re-installed as Governor CB after a FALSE inquiry by a committee consisting of Ranil’s three friends who exonerated Mahendran ! Talk about “owning” Lanka and ruining it too ! The word FALSE covers most of the actions of the new illegal govt.
Begs the question : Who appointed Ranil as PM in the first place ? Will that person take responsibility for the damage done ?

The basic problem with Ranil is that he never understood what PUBLIC SERVICE was really about, and describes it as a “blood sport” in a recent interview rather than as a selfless pursuit of the best long-term interest of the people of the country.
A blood sport is boxing or kung fu, so when you reduce public service to a blood sport, you end up with the foolishness that Ranil is engaged in now, in which he is squandering all of his power on personal and family attacks against perceived political enemies using government force, which only embroils the country in political infighting.
No one really cares other than Ranil or Chandrika about which family dynasty is going to rule Sri Lanka, so Ranil needs to get over this childish pursuit and focus all of his energy on doing the public good. A good starting point would be to admit that his own ‘independent’ committee got it wrong on the Bond Fraud at the Central Bank, and have the CID and Attorney General investigate and prosecute all responsible persons regardless of their party affiliation or personal friendship with him.

A proper assessment of the loss arising and continue to accrue in the coming months and years going up to 30 years should be made. The gravity of the loss should be articulated to the people in terms that they can understand. So far I have not seeing any financial expert informing the public in the language that they can understand.
A few weeks ago there was an article in Lankaweb – Kamba Horu – that showed how much could have been done with the losses – how many Norochachali’s, how many Mattala Airports, how many ports similar to Hambantota port etc. I don’t know how much this expose is factual! Apart from the exact figure that is the way it should be articulated to the public.
This fraud supposed to be the biggest in Sri Lanka’s history perpetrated within the much tooted one hundred days shows the arrogance of unearned political power exercised by the usurper. The “Waiter” President who is supposed to be the head of this robber administration too stand accused of looking the other side while the very people whose President he is, stand robbed and impoverished and bonded in perpetuity to suffer the consequences. The role of Ranil, Ravi and others in the legal fraternity who dishonestly tried to hide the truth must be told to the public.
Can somebody undertake this much needed exercise and properly inform the people in the language they can understand and explain what they should do to bring the fraudsters to justice.
I listened to the Kurunegala speeches, they were mainly rhetoric with little substance. If those who want to bring Mahinda Rajapakse are really interested they must be rich in substance than in mere shouting. None even tried to expose and explain the promises made in the run to the Presidential Elections on 8 Jan and how many the Yamapalana Horu have simple failed to do or even address.
Bring back Mahinda campaign should be much more organised than what they are today. When addressing the people they must not only address the 5.8 Million who voted for Mahinda but also others who were fooled into believe that there was mega fraus in the pervious administration.

I thought Bandula Gunawardena’s presentation on the subject (which cost him his place in the SLFP Central Committee), explained very well how the fraud took place and how the country’s business community is going to suffer due to high interest rates.
I watched it on Lankaweb a couple of weeks ago and would like the Lankaweb editor to re-publish this presentation as well as Wimal Weerawansa’s speech in parliament voting down the Rs400M funding increase.

I watched it too. Though a very good presentation, Ii is not very clear in some aspects. In spoken language, the highlights do not come out clearly. It ought to be a WRITTEN article where the figures stand out clearly and readers and research folk can truly see the side effects of the scam.
