So if this ”Davos” gathering is all about the richest of the rich, then where does our Ponil stands ?

What is the whole purpose of him attending this forum when Sri Lanka is nowhere near those rich people or countries ?

How much tax payers money this useless Ponil is wasting just because he wanted to include his name in to this useless forum ?

What sort of a contribution this useless man Ponil is doing for this forum other than self-abasement while making our country a laughing stock in the eyes of the richest ?

Isn’t this the type mockery that FCID should be investigating ?

The likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, , Bill Gates,Canada’s Justin Trudeau and Formula 1’s Sebastian Vettel will be rubbing shoulders with each other and while most heated rows involve other people trying to get into the best cocktail parties, our man Ranil should be busy with picking up any drop outs.

This is exactly why he went there.

  3. Christie Says:

    Hi Mirror Mirror:

“The Co-Chairs of the Annual Meeting 2015 are: Hari S. Bhartia, Co-Chairman and Founder, Jubilant Bhartia Group, India;”

I think Ponil has been sent to Davos, Switzerland see if he can sell the whole country to foreigners. For the very wealthy it is cheap real estate with nice amenable ‘slaves’ to serve them hand and foot. The British are longing for the era where they could lie on the hansiputuwa and shout “Appu, how about another cup of tea”. Ponil probably will get a thundering commission from each 5000 acre block he sells or leases for 99 years from the foreigners. I wonder what the hotel bill for Ponil, Karupaih, Arjun, Malik and others were for the stay in Davos? At several thousand dollars a day it must be pretty hefty. Is our stupid Parliament going to ask any questions. I hope Ponil and others can justify their visit to Davos for the hard currency poor maids in Middle East bring to the country which they spent so lavishly. I doubt whether any questions will be asked since the Parliament is in Ponil’s pocket. Ponil will be able to retire to Switzerland for the rest of his life. Indians will take over everything in Sri Lanka and the Sinhalese will have to go to the sea and try to swim to Maldives or the South Pole. It will serve the stupid Sinhalese right for electing this bunch of crooks to office.

  6. Fran Diaz Says:

PM David Cameron spoke at the Davos, Switzerland, meeting. He emphasized that the people there from the EU must offer good terms or he will back off from the ECC in this instance. Of course he can and he will. He can depend on INDIA a country-in-waiting to tie up with the Big Boys, with RW/CBK etc to hand over large parts of Lanka too ! Or it could be that INDIA will throw the usual Lanka ‘bone’ to the UK, with loads of TN Dalits & IT boys ?

Either way, Lanka will be in big trouble if UK comes in big way. Already, Tamil Nadu business chaps are talking of tying up with Eastern TAMIL Muslims. Guess who will also come in from the UK – common denominator : the word ‘TAMIL’.

Last laugh : Indo/Brits & Tamil leaders from both sides of the Palk Sts.

Whilst our poor Sinhala/Buddhists, leaders, Army etc., are being harassed and disabled, their country will be dismembered for a few dollars more. The very rich will retire to safer climes abroad – what will happen to the common folk of Lanka ?

Recall that Brits took the food supply from Bihar State in India when Brits were a Colonial Empire in India. Bihar suffered a famous famine due to this and close to a million died. Watch it, INDIA – you are playing with fire here. We in Lanka are watching your actions with Britain.

PS: We hear that the rice stored in the Mattala Airport hangers have been moved – where to, and for what purpose ?

While Champagne and cognac all the way for the billionaires, Nearly $8 trillion wiped off world stocks in January, U.S. recession chances rising: BAML
World stock market losses are approaching $8 trillion so far this year and investors last week poured the most money into government bond funds in a year, suggesting they fear the global economy could tip into recession, Bank of America Merrill Lynch said on Friday.

  8. Lorenzo Says:

But Leonardo DiCaprio BLASTED corporate GREED recently.

  9. Lorenzo Says:

Funny how Americans are trying to put that on CHINA.

Chinese stock markets lost BILLIONS but western markets lost TRILLIONS!! The real losers are westerners. TRUMP or HILLARY will destroy USA further.

The END of the American empire is near.

  10. Fran Diaz Says:

Sri Lanka leaders ought not to depend on the see saw actions of the world money market. There is great unequal distribution of wealth even in the developed world. The world has a huge population as never before. Climate Change has also come.

Lankans ought to forget their petty differences and come together for sheer survival.

  11. NeelaMahaYoda Says:

It is so strange, Can the Sri Lankan Journalists see what we see here??

  12. Lorenzo Says:

NO! Their media bosses are MOSTLY pro-US UNPers. Even if the US economy collapses they will say it is the best in the world.

We have heard CHINA IS GOING TO COLLAPSE THIS YEAR so may times that it makes no alarm now.

I’d rather believe if anyone says USA IS GONNA COLLAPSE IN 2016.

Baba Vanga predicted 44th US president will be an African American. She also said he will be the LAST US PRESIDENT. That may mean the LAST US president to rule USA as we know it now.

Even in the west people now GO AFTER ALTERNATIVE MEDIA. RT and AJ are very popular. In SL most people like to hear PUNNAKKU news of the west.

  13. Fran Diaz Says:

The leaning Westward Ho !It is a ENGLISH LANGUAGE thing !

*. Because of the tie up of Education to the ENGLISH Language, Sri Lankans tend to lean toward the West.

*. The ENGLISH Language is the main language of the Computer as well as of Commerce.

*. Our Lankans have also tied up their ‘loyalty’ to the West, however mixed up and inadequate the West’s Economic systems, because of their need of the ENGLISH Language.

Lankans must realize that they cannot sell their country to the West just because of their need for the ENGLISH Language. They must keep the need for the ENGLISH Language separate from the Soverignity of Lanka.

The ENGLISH LANGUAGE does not provide clean Air, Water, Food, good Shelter and Clothing !

The ENGLISH LANGUAGE is merely a means of Communicating with the rest of the World and a means of Learning only.

  14. Fran Diaz Says:

    Read as ‘Sovereignty’

  15. nilwala Says:

This group is comprised of the 62 multibillionnaires who own more than what 99% of what the whole of the rest of humanity owns. Thus he must be one of ’em too !!!…And from li’l ole Sri Lanka??
