My visit to Singapore and lessons learnt

At my somewhat old age ,passing middles age of course ,I felt an irregular heart  beat and decided to check it up with a local cardiologist after paying about 2500 Rs

Luckily we knew the doctor in a private hospital ,and without queuing up managed to sneak in amidst the protests of long waiting patients got the heart checked who gave a clean report

And yet I decided to travel to Singapore and went to mount Elizabeth Hospital ( where we all ( not all !) go for further check-up like our health minister .

Called the doctor and went there as soon as arrived  after paying around 15000 Rs

He checked my reports and told me that as a senior experienced doctor he does not want to rip us off and did not suggest any other tests .despite the fact that he could have earned more by doing more tests

To our surprise he was very critical of Private Medical trade in Singapore ,an indicated that almost all doctors in Singapore are commercialised

He has a partner who started his own clinic in the same hospital ,now a millionaire  by running a cancer clinic and ripping off Bangladeshi’s .Indonesians , Indians and Sri Lankans

Near Little- India in Singapore ,they have opened up a new hospital with hotel facility    to attract more and more Asians .

My conclusion is almost all the doctors are becoming commercial minded with slightest disregard to medical ethics
