Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa has told MPs of the joint opposition to make no references to the irregularities reportedly committed by Arjun Mahendran in the Central Bank bond issue, when speaking to the media. The joint opposition has up to now been trying to use the issue to its advantage.
Prasanna Ranatunga had told the media that Dinesh Gunawardena would chair a media briefing at the parliamentary complex yesterday (25) with regard to the CB bond issue and the cancellation of the CSN’s broadcasting license. However, Rajapaksa has said the media briefing should not take place before he arrived there.
Arriving around 2.00 pm, he surprised joint opposition MPs by saying that the government should be allowed to resolve the COPE issue and they should not make any references to it. Arjun Aloysius, the son-in-law of Arjun Mahendran, and owner of Perpetual Treasuries that earned an improper profit in the CB bond issue, is said to be a close friend of MP Namal Rajapaksa.

If what S.Gonsal says is true then Mahinda has something to hide and is working with the enemy to protect himself from all those allegations against him. Although Mahinda was the best leader we had since independence, now I have doubts in his future prospects as he is trying to please every one. He should quietly step aside and let Gota take the leadership of the SLFP if he is not brave enough to take a stand on the 13th amendment and give the right place to the Sinhala Buddhist. He can not depend on what he did for the country in the past to be elected again. Remember he lost two elections with that good record.

We need more Veerakumaras in parliament. We have to be careful of the misinformation campaign. Last year Sirisena dissolved the parliament on the instructions of the American embassy. Apparently, when Sirisena asked Mahinda if he would keep quiet about the Bond Scam, Mahinda is supposed to have said that everyone called me and my team rogues, and I will bring the culprits to justice. That’s why Sirisena did everything under the sun to defeat Mahinda on August 17th.
I still have faith. Still Americans couldn’t get the new constitution through parliament, India couldn’t get ETCA signed. By one way or the other we need an election, the parliamentary or the presidential. I am sure with the blessings of the guardian Devas we will be saved.

If you watched the video in LankaCnews ( WW’s news) she is advertising “the mother of the boy was crying his father too died the same way”. The said this more than once. LankaCNews was also advertising. If in the USA they will be the No.1 suspect just because of that. But this is Sri Lanka. Politicians are the kings regardless of in power or not.
