The distasteful statement by the Minister, Field Marshall Sarath Foneska on war crimes.

The statement of the Minister Sarath Fonseka that he would volunteer to testify against Gen. Jagath Jaysooriya, if called upon to prove that the latter had committed war crimes, is indeed distasteful and impetuous. The Minister has repeatedly said on previous occasions that the Defence forces did not commit any war crimes and it was a war to defend the country from the grip of a bunch of terrorists. He may have forgotten his own public utterances on the war as the Commander of the army or was it merely a case of raising a dust to embarrass a brother officer by acting indignantly.
Sarath Fonseka’s rush of words, added insult to injury when referring the Gen. Jayasooriya’s alleged mishandling of funds etc., which is entirely different to the issue of war crimes. His hasty reactions of wild irrationality failed to identify the pro- LTTE financed push to activate a number of FNGOs in some Latin American countries under the command of the infamous Yasmin Sooka who lead a number of operations to blacken the image of Sri Lanka including being a member of the highly biased Ban-ki Moon commission!
Fortunately, The President, a number of senior ministers, a good number of Parliamentarians, and members of the Maha Sanagha have registered their voice against this simple-minded approach of the Field Marshal.
We should not play the giddy goat to achieve the malicious objectives of one’s agenda at the expense of the defence forces which liberated over 285,000 Tamil children and adults from the tyranny of the brutal Tamil Tiger Terrorists and created a liveable space for all the Sri Lankans.
We trust that Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka will not forget to affirm his much publicised statements assuring the world that war crimes were not committed by the Sri Lankan defence forces.
While we, the Global Sri Lankan Forum, deplore the statement made by the Field Marshall, we call upon all
right-thinking leaders and the public to stand firm with the defence forces which helped to create a peaceful Sri Lanka by sacrificing tens of thousands of their members including the thousands that remain disabled or are counted as missing.

Dear Ranjith the biggest mistake made by Mahinda & Gotabaya Rajapaksa was appointing this KALAVEDDA as head of SL Army. SF was about to retire before meeting Gotabaya accidently at Kelaniya Temple one of the ceremony re-introduced by old an Anandain. I am sure today both Rajapaksa are regretting for the mistake they did. Before SF appointed as commander of SL Army he never won any batter in North or East under his command. There were much better and descent Army Officers who would have been appointed by Rajapaksa to finish the war without this KALAVEDDA. If SF retired without appointing as head of the SL army he would have just another retired Army officer today.

GONZEKA is driven by HATE.
But DHANE is wrong. Without SF we could NEVER have won the war. He won the war. That is a FACT.
He was NOT such an IDIOT when he was in the UNIFORM. He went MAD after entering POLITICS which has happened to ALL politicians.
He won MANY battles before MR.
CBK, RW and the govt. all agreed to REMOVE HSZs in Jaffna in 2003. Opposition leader MR was SILENT. SF stood firm and said NO. IF not for SF we would NEVER win the war.
Lets HATE SF the politician as much as we like but we must NOT hate SF the army man.
RATHUPASWALA killing civilians is a CRIME. Not sure war crime or MURDER. Who gave the order to SHOOT TO KILL civilians? JJ or GR?
I think Gonzeka is playing a TRICK here. He blames JJ HOPING that JJ will say GR instructed him to do it.

SF is a highly corrupt man. He offered a certain contract to a certain company when he was the Army Commander and his Son-In-Law got a large amount of Dollars as a bribe. This money was caught and was put into a safe of SF’s wife BUT COULD NOT USE AS THE DEFENCE COMMANDER/Secretary HAD KNOWN THIS. Thats why he is MAD AT EVERY ONE. Recently it was reported that HE HAS 4 EX-LTTErs AS HIS SECURITY. LTTE supporters in other countries are supporting him with bribes to bring charges against the Army.
Recently it was in newspapers that PM OF ENGLAND HAD SAID THAT NO CHARGES SHOULD BE LEVELLED AGAINST THEIR SOLDIERS WHO WAGED WAR AGAINST TERRORISTS AND KILLED IN THOUSANDS.But they preach US SOMETHING ELSE!!!
SF THE MAD MAN SHOULD ATLEAST LEARN A LESSON FROM HIS IMPERIAL FRIENDS!!!

Fonseka is a sick person. He is suffering from PTSD Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He should be in a hospital receiving treatment and not sitting in parliament.
Yesterday when a reporter asked about a comment made by a Ven Elle Gunawansa, Fonseka lashed out at that too refering the the Thero as that Cheewara Dhariya.
Then again, Ranil is a mental case deciding on the future of millions of Sri Lankans.

I agree with dhane; Major General Janaka Perera would have done a better job than SF.
Jay-ran has disclosed a very important fact that SF is having 4 EX-LieTTE carders in his security team.
This is a very alarming situation. SF may use these terrorists to attack his opponents such as MR, GR, JJ, WW, UG, leader of the disabled soldier’s society etc. It looks like SF has a habit of keeping LieTTErs in his company. Remember, his official cook at the army headquarters who let the suicide bomber enter the high security army HQ was later found to be a hard-core terrorist planted by Pottu Amman.

Fonseka is a sick person suffering from PTSD Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He is the only Army Commander in the world who could not provide even security to his own high security army HQ Office compound. If not to that motorcyclist Officer who sacrifice his live to safe guard this idiot, much decent Army Commander would have finish the war under the guidance and leadership of Rajapaksa.

FM Fonseka on his own, hired a cook for his quarters, and it was a LTTE friend of this cook that made a suicide bombing attempt on his life. Gota used govt funds and flew FM Fonseka to S’pore for treatment and saved his life. Could this attempt on FM Fonseka’s life have caused some permanent damage to his brain, that resulted in PTSD ? Can his statements after the suicide bomber’s attempt be trusted as true ?
On comparing FM Fonseka’s past remarks with his present remarks on the same subjects, there is a vast difference !
Facts show that FM Fonseka’s present statements as untrue and therefore his current remarks re Gen JJ & the armed forces must be discarded in toto.
If FM Fonseka’s present statements are to be accepted, then he has to undergo some Psychiatric examinations and pronounced free of PTSD etc.

If a Psychiatric Exam proves that FM Fonseka is mentally ok, then it shows that some people are FORCING FM Fonseka to lie against his own Armed Forces, that they committed War Crimes.
