මහා පුක් නඩුවට අද දඹුල්ල මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කළ ළමයින් තිදෙනාට චෝදනා ගොනු කළේ ‘පුරා විද්‍යා පනතේ‘ 31 (1) ආ වගන්තිය යටතේය.
එයින් කියවෙන්නේ, ‘පුරා වස්තුවකට නින්දාවක්, හානියක් සිදු කිරීම‘ පිළිබද වරදකට රුපියල් 50,000 ක අවම දඩයක් නියම කළ හැකි බරපතල වරදකි.
වැදගත්ම දෙය එය නොවේ. මේ පනත යටතේ මහෙස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණයට චූදිතයින්ට ඇප ලබා දිය නොහැකිය. අවම වශයෙන් මහාධිකරණයට හෝ මේ ළමයින්ට ඇප ලබා දිය නොහැකිය. තවත් එකකි, ඇප අයදුම්පත ඉදිරිපත් කළ හැක්කේ අභියචනාධිකරණය වෙතය.
පොලීසිය චෝදනා ගොනු කිරීමේ දී, මේ ළමයින් වැඩිම කාලයක් ඇප රහිතව රිමාන්ඩ් බන්ධනාගාර ගත කිරීම අරමුණ කොට ඇත. අන්ත දිළිදු දෙමාපියන්ගේ දරුවන් වන මේ පිරිසට අභියාචනාධිකරණයේ ඇප ඉල්ලුමපතක් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට ශක්තියක් නැත.
පිදුරංගල පුක් නඩුවේ දී පොලීසිය විසින් අද දින චෝදනා ගොනු කිරීමේ දී නීතිය නමා ඇති බව පැහැදිලිය. මන්ද, ඡායාරූපයක් ගැනීමෙන් ‘පුරාවස්තුවකට නින්දාවක්, හානියක් සිදු කිරීමට‘ කිසිදු හැකියාවක් නොමැති බැවිනි. එමෙන්ම, පුරා වස්තු යැයි කියා ගන්නා ස්ථානයන් හි ඡායාරූපයක් ගැනීම හේතුවෙන් ඕනෑම දෙස් විදෙස් පුද්ගයෙකු මෙලෙස ඇප ලබා දිය නොහැකි ආකාරයට රිමාන්ඩ් බන්ධනාගාර ගත කිරීමට හැකි වන ලෙස පොලීසියට චෝදනා ගොනු කළ හැකි නම් එය ‘කැත, නින්දිත විලිළැජ්ජා සහගත‘ ක්‍රියාවක් බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා මානව හිමිකම් කේන්ද්‍රයේ විධායක අධ්‍යක්ෂ කීර්ති තෙන්නකෝන් මහතා පවසයි.

Maximum penalty should be delivered to stop others being followed same of defaming Sinhela Buddhist culture, disgracing Historical places of our heritage.
Unless, tomorrow some other group will do it at Sri Maha Bodhi – Ruwanweliseya and even Sri Dalada Maligawa – Kandy Lake to the worst.
None of these bastards do that at Church or a Mosque!
Why only Buddhist sites?
This is what come from West, a conspiracy and ploy to destroy our history, culture and break the spinal of Sinhelaya and Buddhist relationship binding the civilization.

As far as available information goes, they are Buddhists from a prominent Buddhist school in Kurunegala.
Imprisonment is far too much for them in a country ancient monuments are being destroyed by Tamils and Muslims wholesale.

Also, they are not charged for desecrating a religious shrine or an historical monument. They are only charged under Pornography Prevention Amendment Act No. 22 of 1983 and the Police Ordinance. There are far bigger crooks violating these two laws than them!

Did the man who said Buddha was a cannibal go to jail ? When did that happen ?
Why punishment to Sinhala people only ( regardless of who is in power ) ?
Current president is insulting Buddhism much more than these kids by telling huge lies in public.Buddhism should be respected internally, in the hearts. Once that respect is there, such incidents will not happen.

As I can see these fools thought it is cool to copy the white tourists who did a similar thing and police did not do any thing.
This has bee politicized and take advantage of by thieves running the country and expecting to run the country. It has nothing to do with protecting Buddhism. None of the current leading parties and so called “socialists” are interested in protecting Buddhism.
On the other hand Buddha has done everything he could to protect Buddhism. There is no need to do anything by rulers, what they have to is to follow the teaching, if honestly they want to protect Buddhism.
Our current rulers are blatant liars who have no shame to lie and kill people to protect their wealth and fame.
How about the obvious insults such as “Tharuwan Saranai” etc. etc. ?
How about the huge insults to Buddha by Muslims who always have the protection of government to expand Saudi Jihadism ?
Is it not an insult to Buddhism that in this country women are allowed to wear Black Gonibilla Dress covering the face and go near the Dalada Maligava and many Buddhist shrines ?
How about the threat created by donating 1000s of hectares of virgin forest to Doha allowing them to create Islam only regions, such as Jassim City ? Are these rulers patriotic ?
How about jailing few Sinhala people who pointed out the above injustice to Buddhists regardless of their political affiliations ?
The problem is always successive governments try to silent the majority Sinhala Youth and subdue them and divert attention of the youth from patriotic thinking to so called “modern yanki culture”. All the leaders have sons who are in the English speaking westernized Thuppahi culture and want to teach general public how to respect other religions and multiculturalism while Sinhala Buddhist culture is being destroyed.
