Eleven new cases confirmed; Total count hits 981

COVID-19 cases count of Sri Lanka reached 981 as of 11.30 pm today (17) following the detection of 11 new patients, says the Ministry of Health.

Ten new positive cases of coronavirus were reported earlier today. Accordingly, a total of 21 cases have been confirmed within the day.

In the meantime, the number of patients who recovered from the virus has increased to 538.

The Epidemiology Unit says that 434 active cases are currently under medical care at selected hospitals across the country.

The country’s death toll from COVID-19 currently stands at 09.
