HE. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Your Excellency should spare some of your very valuable and busy time to visit/attend parliament more frequently please. When you are re in are in attendance, the presence in parliament of MP’s of the government are nearly 99%.

Even the presence of opposition MP’s are somewhat the same. But during the other parliamentary sittings, it is “NEARLY EMPTY”. Those MP’s and ministers who speak, only speak for the benefit “MEDIA” and the “TV cameras” in an almost empty parliament. Excellency Sir, you should bring about a “CHANGE” to this “bad parliamentary culture” please.

MP’s who do not attend parliament during sessions should be withheld their “day’s wage/salary/allowance” as a penalty/punishment for not being present in the chambers.

please. That should NOT mean that they can come, mark present and then leave the chambers. They should be in attendence throughout the sessions.

The Hon. Speaker of the House should be adviced to follow the “rule of sitting in their allocated seats” during sessions and not to take seats behind prominent ministers or other parliamentarians just to been seen on the TV screens during broadcasted/aired.

The “DISCIPLINED PRACTICES” of seating procedures practiced in other countries, especially in the West, should become a “parliamentary norm” in our “MAATHRUBOOMIYA”  as well, Your Excellency.
