We must be prepared to deal with more disasters in future. I spent millions building a massive retaining wall on my land to secure it from a future land slide but the illegally acquired land belongs to me at the top and sold to put a temple allowed the heavy rain water to seep into my soil below causing a disaster that I had to pay millions to restore.
Still it may come down again as the occupants at the top have not taken steps to divert the rain water to the proper drain I built when I had owned that part of that land. I have told the management to inform the authorities of the impending danger but they are not willing to tackle the occupants of the temple. This is our balu culture.
A month ago two thieves robbed the expensive gate of my land. As the gate was being dismantled the good neighbours complained to the police. The two fellows dragged away the gate in front of the police because the owner did not make the complain. So I have to come down from UK to make a complain? Do you think any one in the right mind will invest in the island ?
