Parliamentarian President’s Counsel Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has forwarded a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping, requesting that China halt the economic invasion into Sri Lanka.

In the detailed letter, MP Rajapakshe points out that the bilateral relationships between China and Sri Lanka extend back to the pre-era of B.C., where Bhikku Faxian visited the country.

This letter politically describes the current damage to the Sri Lankan economy due to China’s strong influence and the debt trap that Sri Lanka is entangled in.

The last few chapters are devoted to reviewing all existing agreements with China in a forthcoming government and how to reconsider agreements that have been made in a manner that is not harmful or beneficial to Sri Lanka.

His letter states that a referendum will be held in the forthcoming general election to make the necessary changes.

It should also be noted that the final point of the letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping states that if Chinese companies or the Chinese government acquire any property in Sri Lanka through Selandiva, it will be canceled from the outset and no payment will be made for any such cancellation.
