Health experts point out that burying the bodies of patients who die of COVID-19 infection creates a risk of the virus entering groundwater sources.

Meanwhile, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya staged a protest in Colombo today against the cremation of Muslims who died of COVID infection.

However, several other parties stated that the decision regarding the cremation of COVID infected patients should not be changed
