Cabinet Spokesman Minister Rajitha Senaratne today said thatthe government will continue commemorating 19 May as the day that “separatism ended” and not as the “War Victory Day”.

The celebrations will be held in Matara.
He further said that the government will be commemorating this day to honour the men and women who sacrificed their lives and who was disabled in the course to save the country.

If 19th May is not the Victory day, what is it then. Where were these Yahapalana rogues living before 19th May 2009? Every village, every town had a death due to LTTE barbarism on a daily basis. Ending of 2nd WW are celebrated after 70 years, Winston Churchill is remembered 50 years after his death.

The people of Sri Lanka, if they have any gratitude for living free from Terrorism should on their own celebrate the Victory over Terrorism day. This can be done all over Sri Lanka in Buddhist Temples.
It is a shame just 6 years after putting paid to Terrorism at Nanthi Kadal Lagoon the ungrateful Sri Lankans have forgotten the privations that they underwent daily during the “terrorism” days.
Sri Lanka must celebrate the Victory Day just as much as Europe and America celebrate victory over Nazism even after 70 years! Patriotic people must not listen to Ooru Kata – Rajitha!
The present Yahapalana traitors should be made history soon!
