A top US official is reported to have said that the US expects future governments of Sri Lanka to honour the agreements the current administration has entered with it. This, we reckon, is a warning or even a veiled threat, couched in diplomatese, to those who have taken exception to the heavily lop-sided agreements—the ACSA (Acquisition and Cross Servicing Agreement) and SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement), which is to be signed. The US has told its critics, in no uncertain terms, that they had better stop entertaining the idea of abrogating these pacts.

Sri Lankan politicians are notorious for selling their souls to the devil. They are only concerned about short-term political gains or pecuniary benefits. They would not scruple even to cheat their own mothers if there is money in it for them. They don’t give a tinker’s cuss about selling state assets to foreigners or entering into agreements which are unfavourable to this country.

Leaders of the previous dispensation, driven by their yen for yuan, gave the Chinese free rein while wrapping themselves in the flag; they antagonized other world powers, which are currently getting what they want by helping the yahapalana leaders stay in power.

China got the army headquarters land and permission from the Rajapaksa government to reclaim land from the sea for the Port City project. The yahapalana politicians who opposed those questionable deals and came to power, pledging to liberate the country from the clutches of the Chinese, gave China the Hambantota Port on a platter. Now, they have handed over 49% of shares of the Colombo Port East Container Terminal to India and Japan, backed by the US. The agreements they have signed with the US are detrimental to the interests of this country, which won’t ever be able to extricate itself from what may be termed pact traps which are as dangerous as debt traps, which the US accuses China of having laid for the developing world to further its geo-strategic interests.

The government is only the controlling apparatus of the state, and those who are in power temporarily have no right to commit the country to harmful pacts at their whims and fancies. All foreign agreements must be properly studied and presented to Parliament before decisions thereon are taken. Else, at this rate, the unscrupulous politicians we are burdened with will sell this country outright to foreign powers for a song.

President Sirisena revealed, following his abortive bid to dislodge the incumbent government, last year, that the envoys of some powerful nations had overstepped their diplomatic limits to make interventions on behalf of the beleaguered UNF politicians, who made a comeback with their help. It may be argued that the controversial agreements at issue represent a quid pro quo.

Most of the problems besetting the country anent questionable agreements with the world powers boil down to the bungling on the part of successive governments which have either antagonised world powers or got too close to them, unnecessarily. No government has cared to get its foreign policy right for the last several decades.

The problem is not that the US is doing what is good for it. All countries always do so save this land like no other, and the US cannot be faulted for that. The problem is that Sri Lankan leaders are also doing what is good for the US—for obvious reasons!

The Opposition, especially the SLPP, has rightly condemned the controversial pacts the incumbent administration has signed with the US, Japan and India. But mere rhetoric won’t do. The Opposition has to assess the situation realistically and work out a strategy to help the country manoeuvre out of this difficult situation without getting hurt. Above all, it has to take action to ensure that the current administration and future governments will not be able to enter into agreements with foreigners at the expense of the national interest. New laws are needed to make it mandatory for vital agreements to be presented Parliament before being inked. Better late than never!

Africans who voluntarily converted to Christianity before the colonial conquest such as Affonso I of the BaKongo in the 15th century probably did not discern the purpose of the brand of Christianity that was supplied to them.  

Which was probably why they fell easy prey to the missionaries and the white traders and pirates who followed them.  

But their Japanese counterparts probably did discern the game, even without access to some version of Leopold’s letter.  

But even if the Japanese Shoguns did not intuit what Leopold makes explicit, they clearly realized the danger of Japanese converts to Christianity forming a fifth column within Japanese society and state, a fifth column loyal to their co-religionists in Europe.  

To rid Japan of that danger, in the late 16th century, the Shoguns began their expulsion of Portuguese and Spanish missionaries on the grounds that they were forcing Japanese to become Christian, teaching their disciples to wreck temples, taking and trading slaves, etc.  

Then, in 1596, it became clear to the Japanese authorities that Christianization had been a prelude to Spanish conquest of other lands; and it quickly dawned on them that a fifth column loyal to Rome and controlled by the priests of a foreign religion was a clear and present danger to the sovereignty of a newly unified Japan.  

Soon after, the persecution and suppression of Japanese Christians began.  

Early in the 17th century, sensing the danger from a creed that taught obedience to foreign priests rather than the Japanese authorities, all missionaries were ordered to leave and all Japanese were ordered to register at the Buddhist temples.  

When Japanese Christians took part in a rebellion, foreign priests were executed, the Spanish were expelled and Japanese Christians were forbidden to travel abroad.   After another rebellion, largely by Christians, was put down, the Japanese Christians were suppressed and their descendants were put under close state surveillance for centuries thereafter.   In the 1640s all Japanese suspected of being Christians were ruthlessly exterminated.  Thus did Japan, by 1650, save itself from the first European attempt to mentally subvert, conquer and colonize it.

Two people, who had pledged to National Thowheed Jama’at (NTJ) leader Zahran Hashim to operate as suicide bombers, were arrested in a joint raid conducted by the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) and the Army yesterday, Police said today.

Zahran masterminded the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks targeting three churches and three high-end hotels in Colombo.

Initial investigations had revealed that these two suspects had received weapons training had maintained close links with Zahran Hashim and influenced by his extremist sermons

They are being detained by the TID for further questioning. (

A top US government official said the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) assisted the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Sri Lanka in the analysis of evidence and phone details in connection with the serial bombings on Easter Sunday.

The official told a select group of journalists that the FBI, in the aftermath of the attack, extended its assistance to the CID to pursue evidence regarding suspects arrested in connection with the attack. The assistance was provided at the request of the Government of Sri Lanka.

Asked for his views about Sri Lanka’s defence cooperation agreement, he declined to comment on it without seeing the content.

Responding to a query whether the United States would be alright with Sri Lanka getting facial recognition equipment from China, he said the use of such equipment in combatting terrorism had to be reconciled with fundamental rights of individuals.

Commenting on the proposed Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA), he said that it was to facilitate the US military personnel and civilians visiting Sri Lanka and other logistical services for them.

Responding to the allegation that they would enjoy legal immunity in Sri Lanka, he said such personnel would be held accountable under the US military judicial system. (

COLOMBO • Five Sri Lankans suspected of having links to the Easter Sunday bombings that killed more than 250 people were brought home in police custody yesterday after being deported from Saudi Arabia, police said.

Police declined to provide details of the arrests beyond saying the five were picked up in a Middle Eastern country and were sent back, in the custody of Sri Lankan police, from the Saudi city of Jeddah.

“These are the five remaining leaders of the April 21 terrorist group,” police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera told reporters.

The coordinated Islamist militant suicide bomb attacks on hotels and churches sent shock waves through the Indian Ocean island state that had enjoyed relative peace since a civil war ended a decade ago.

The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria claimed responsibility for the attacks that the authorities said were carried out by two little-known domestic groups – the National Thawheedh Jamaath (NTJ) and Jamathei Millathu Ibrahim.

Police declined to give information about the nature of the five suspects’ roles in the attacks but said one of them, identified as Mohamed Milhan, was a senior member of the NTJ.

Milhan was also wanted in connection with the November killing of two police constables in the east of the island, where NTJ leader Zahran Hashim had his base. Hashim was one of two suicide bombers who attacked the Shangri-La hotel in Colombo.

“He could have been the next leader,” Mr Gunasekera said of Milhan.

This is the second time suspects have been arrested abroad in connection with the attacks.

Last month, army chief Mahesh Senanayake said two suspects were arrested in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Official sources said they were Sri Lankans.

The authorities have arrested more than 2,000 people in connection with the attacks. While courts have released most of them on bail, 634 remain in detention.

Sri Lanka has been under a state of emergency since the attacks. There have been recriminations over the failure on the part of security forces to act on advance warnings of the impending attacks.

The authorities say the threat of more attacks has been contained and the security services have dismantled most of the network linked to the bombings.

Five suspects including Mohamed Milhan, an ardent member of the terrorist group that carried out the carnage of Easter Sunday, have been arrested in Jeddah, the Police Media Spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara said.

A group of officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have escorted the suspects to Sri Lanka at around 4.00 a.m. this morning (14).

The suspects are currently held under the custody of the CID.

UPDATE (2.00 P.M.): The police, earlier today, reported that the said five suspects were arrested in Dubai, however, it was later reported that they were taken into custody at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

It is revealed that Zahran Hashim has attempted to bribe several lawyers for Rs 2 million, to solicit them to bail out the suspects arrested over vandalism of Buddhist statues in Mawanella and nearby areas.

The National Thowheed Jama’ath leader has reportedly given the said amount of money to Maulvi Rashid Mohamed Ibrahim to bribe the lawyers to release the suspects on bail.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) stated this when the case on Buddhist statue vandalism was taken up yesterday (13).

The suspects have revealed during preliminary investigations that vandalism of the Buddhist statues in Mawanella area was also led by Zahran Hashim, the CID told the court.

The two major suspects of the case and their father Maulvi Rashid have conducted advisory services to youths on extremist ideologies, according to the CID. This was reportedly carried out at Lacktowatta area in Wanathawilluwa, where 100kg of explosives and 100 detonators were seized earlier this year. The CID said Zahran had also been to the said location.

The suspects were subsequently re-remanded until 27th of June.

Sri Lanka’s security forces have arrested two individuals who believed to be close associates of terrorist leader Zahran Hashim, the ringleader of the Easter Sunday attackers.

Police said that the suspects were arrested at Hingula in Mawanella during a secret operation jointly carried out by the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) and the Sri Lanka Army.

Mohamed Razik Mohamed Rizvi, who had worked at a computer technician in Kandy, and Mohamed Musthapha Mohamed Rizvan, who had been employed as a driver, have been identified as the arrested suspects.

Police said that preliminary inquiries have revealed that they had both received weapons training and had also pledged to carry out suicide attacks.

It has been uncovered that the two individuals had attended sermons organized by National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ) leader Zahran Hashim.

One of the five suspects, who were arrested in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for allegedly having strong links to the terrorist group that carried out the coordinated attacks on Easter Sunday, is also in connection with the murders of two police constables at Vavunativu, the Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.

He stated this addressing a media briefing held today (14).

The suspect named Ayathu Mohamed Ahmed Milhan is the main suspect of the murder of two police constables at Vavunativu checkpoint, the police spokesperson added.

The 30-year-old suspect, who was identified as a close associate of Zahran Hashim, is said to be from the New Kattankudy area.

SP Gunasekara further commented that two other suspects in connection with the murder of two constables have already been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). One of the two suspects includes Zahran Hashim’s driver named Gafur.

Two police constables attached to Vavunativu Police Station who had been on duty at the Vavunativu checkpoint were murdered on 29th November 2018. Preliminary police investigations had uncovered that one constable suffered a gunshot in the head, while the other suffered cut wounds across his neck.
 
Speaking on the five suspects arrested in Jeddah, the police spokesperson said, they were brought to Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at around 4.00 a.m. this morning (14).

They are currently held in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department, the police spokesperson added.

The second of the suspects arrested in Jeddah over the Easter attacks is a 34-year-old named Mohamed Marshook Mohamed Rila from Maruthamunai area.
The third suspect is named Mohamed Mohideen Mohamed Shanva Sabry, a 47-year-old from Wellampitiya.

Mohamed Ismail Mohamed Ilham (29) is the fourth suspect arrested at Jeddah. He is a resident at Kamburadi road in Kattankudy.

The fourth suspect is a 37-year-old named Abusali Abubakar, who had been residing in Ella Wewa area, Kebithigollewa, SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.

Seventy-seven suspects involved in the Easter Sunday attacks are currently held in the custody of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), says Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara.

He added that 25 others are being held in the custody of the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID).

සාමය හා සංහිඳියාව අනතුරේ හෙළමින් ශ්‍රී  ලංකාවේ මුස්ලිම් ප්‍රජාව ඉලක්ක කරගනිමින් ක්‍රියාත්මක වන දේශපාලනික හා ආගමික බලපෑම් පිළිබඳ අපගේ දැඩි අවධානය යොමු වී ඇත. මාධ්‍ය මඟින් නොකඩවා ප්‍රචාරය කරනු ලබන අගතිගාමී සහ සත්‍යතාව තහවුරු කර නොගත් තොරතුරු මඟින් සිදුවන්නේ මෙම නොසන්සුන්කාරී තත්ත්වය වර්ධනය වීම පමණි. 

ඉහත ඡේදය පිළිබඳව අවධානය යොමු කරන විට තහවුරු වනුයේ මේ රටේ හැම මඟුලකටම ඇඟිලි ගැසීම ජන්ම පුරුද්දක් කරගත් යුරෝපා කොමිසම අන්තිමේදී මාධ්‍යයටද අතපය දමන්නට එන බවය.

නමුත් ගැටලුව ඇති වූයේ අන්තවාදී නරුමයන් කිහිපදෙනකු මරාගෙන මැරෙන බෝම්බ පුපුරුවාගෙන අහිංසකයන් තුන්සියයකට ආසන්න සංඛ්‍යාවක් ඝාතනය කිරීම හේතු කොටගෙනය. මෙවන් සාහසික අපරාධයක් සිදුව තිබියදී ඊට වගකිවයුත්තන් ගැන වගේ වගක් සඳහන් නොකර වෙනදා කරන්නාක් මෙන් යුරෝපා කොමිසම අඳුරේ අතපත ගාන්නට පටන්ගෙන තිබේ. 

ප්‍රහාරයෙන් දෙසතියකට පසුව දිවයිනේ තැනින් තැන ඇති වූ සිද්ධි කිහිපයක් නිසා වරින් වර පොලිස් ඇඳිරි නීතිය දමා ඒවා පාලනය කරන්නට ආරක්ෂක අංශවලට සිදුවූ බව සැබෑවකි. එහි ඇරඹුමට හේතු වූයේ හලාවත ව්‍යාපාරිකයකු මුහුණු පොතට දමා තිබූ ආවේගය උපදවන පෝස්ටුවකි.

පාස්කු ප්‍රහාරය දාත්, ඉන් පසුවත් විය හැකිව තිබූ බොහෝ ව්‍යසන නොවන තැනට වගබලා ගන්නට කටයුතු කළ අති උතුම් මැල්කම් කාදිනල් රංජිත් අගරදගුරුතුමන්ගේ විශිෂ්ට ජාතික මෙහෙවර මේ මොහොතේද අපි ඉහළින්ම අගය කරමු. එමෙන්ම තෛ්‍රනිකායික මහ නාහිමිවරුන් ඇතුළු ඉස්ලාම් හා අනෙකුත් පූජක ප්‍රසාදීන් වහන්සේලාද රට තුළ සාමය කඩ නොවන තැනට වගබලාගන්නට ඉටු කළ මෙහෙවරද අගය කළ යුතුය. 

පාස්කු ප්‍රහාරයෙන් සිදුවූ ව්‍යසනය ජනවාර්ගික ගැටුමක් දක්වා වර්ධනය නොවන තැනට වගබලාගෙන තිබියදීත් සාමය හා සංහිඳියාව අනතුරේ හෙළන්නට මෙරට මාධ්‍ය ක්‍රියා කරන බවට යුරෝපා සංගමයේ අම්බරුවෝ තප්පුලති. 

සමස්තයක් ලෙස ගත් කල ඇති බහුතරයන් මාධ්‍ය සිදුකළේ රටේ සිදුවන දේ වගකීමකින් යුක්තව වාර්තා කිරීමය. ඇතැම් සමාජ මාධ්‍ය ජාල කිහිපයක් හැරෙන්නට අන් කිසිදු මුද්‍රිත හෝ විද්‍යුත් මාධ්‍යයක් ඇවිළෙන ගින්නට පිදුරු දමන්නට ගියේ නැත. රට තුළ බෙහෙවින් සාමකාමී වාතාවරණයක් රැඳී පැවතුණේද ඒ නිසාමය.

සෙනරත් රජුගේ කාලයේදී වෙළෙ¼දාම් කරන්නට නැඟෙනහිර වෙරළෙන් මෙරටට ගොඩබට මුස්ලිම්වරුන් හා මෙරට අනෙකුත් ජාතීන් අතර ඇති වූ සංහිඳියාවේ ඉතිහාසය ගැන යුරෝපා සංගමයේ පරසුද්දන් දන්නා කෙහෙල්මලක් නැත. ඒ මුස්ලිම්වරුන් ආවාහ විවාහ වූයේ අපේ සිංහල යුවතියන් සමඟය. මොහොට්ටි අප්පුහාමිලාගේ මොහොමඩ් කලීල්ලා බිහි වූයේ එහි ප්‍රතිඵලයක් හැටියටය. 

පසුකාලීනව මෙරට කථානායක පදවියට පත් එම්.එච්. මොහොමඩ් හා එම්.ඒ. බාකිර් මාකාර් ආදීහු මෙරට තුන්වැනි පුරවැසි තනතුරට පත්වූහ. කොළඹ ආනන්දයෙන් මරදානේ සහිරා විදුහලේ සේවයට ගිය ආචාර්ය ටී.බී. ජායා එහි ගිය පළමු වසරේදීම සිංහල කොල්ලකු සහිරාවේ ප්‍රධාන ශිෂ්‍ය නායකයා කළේය. මේ රටේ සිංහල ජනතාව හා මුස්ලිම්වරුන් අතර සංහිඳියාව ගොඩනැඟුණේ එහෙමය. 

ආගමික අන්තවාදී ඇම්බැට්ටයන්ගේ උන්මන්තක ක්‍රියාවන් නිසා හැරෙන්නට මේ රටේ සිංහල, මුස්ලිම් සමඟියට කිසිදු බාධාවක් ඇත්තේ නැත. එහෙව් රටකට, එහෙව් අභිමානවත් ජාතියකට අද යුරෝපා සංගමයේ පරසුද්දෝ වැදි බණ දෙසති. 

අඩුම තරමින් රුසියාව හෝ ඕස්ට්‍රේලියාව මුස්ලිම්වරුන් පිළිබඳව අනුගමනය කරන දැඩි පිළිවෙත් (පහත ලිපිය කියවන්න) අප අනුගමනය කරන්නේ නැත. අදටත් ජපානය මුස්ලිම්වරුන්ට එරට ස්ථිර පදිංචිය ප්‍රදානය කරන්නේ නැත. ඉස්ලාම් ආගම ඇදහීමද තහනම්ය. ඇංගෝලාව සහ අප්‍රිකානු රටවල් කිහිපයක් සිය රටවල ඉස්ලාම් ආගම ඇදහීම තහනම් කර ඇත. පසුගිය වසරේ ජර්මනියේදී පමණක් මුස්ලිම් පල්ලි 81කට පහරදී තිබේ. බටහිර චීනයේ රජයේ ගොඩනැඟිලි සහ පාසල්වල ඉස්ලාම් යාඥාවන් තහනම්ය. චෙක් ජනරජය ඉස්ලාමය මුළුමනින්ම ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කර තිබේ. එමෙන්ම පෝලන්තයේ ආරක්ෂක ලීගය මේ වනවිට මුස්ලිම් ජනතාවට අවවාද කරමින් පළාත් 16ක ෂරියා නීතිය තහනම් කර තිබේ. 

මුස්ලිම්වරුන්ට හා ඉස්ලාමයට එරෙහි ලෝක ප්‍රතිපදාව එලෙස තිබියදී යුරෝපා හවුලේ වෘක්ෂ සුනඛයන් අප පසුපස එළවන්නට පටන්ගෙන තිබේ. ඊට හේතුව මේ රට තුළ බූවල්ලකු මෙන් අඬු විහිදා සිටින එන්.ජී.ඕ. මාෆියාව සමඟ යුරෝපා හවුල එකට යහන්ගතව සිටීමය. තමන්ගේ පාට කණ්ණාඩි තුළින් බලනවා හැරෙන්නට ප්‍රායෝගික සත්‍යය වටහා ගන්නට තරම් බුද්ධිමය ප්‍රතිභාවක් මුන්ට නැත. එසේ තිබුණේ නම් පාස්කු ප්‍රහාරයෙන් පසුව ලේ විලක් වන්නට තිබූ මේ රටේ සංහිඳියාවට පාර කැපූ වගකීම් සහගත මාධ්‍ය භාවිතාව මුන් මේ අයුරින් හෙළා දකින්නේ ද නැත. එපමණක් නොවේ වැසිකිළියක උපන් අවජාතකයන් හැර අන් කවරකුවත් උන්ගේ ගොම්පස් අල්ලන්නට යන්නේද නැත.

 උපුටාගැණීම  මව්බිම

ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ තීරණය අභියෝගයට ලක්කරමින් අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරයාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් කැබිනට් මණ්ඩලය රැස්වුවහොත් නීතිය අනුව අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරයා ධුරයෙන් ඉවත් කර නව අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරයකු පත්කිරීමේ බලය ජනාධිපතිවරයාට තිබෙන බව හිටපු අගවිනිසුරු සරත් එන්. සිල්වා මහතා ‘මව්බිම’ට ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථාවේ 30 (1) වගන්තිය අනුව විධායකයේ ප්‍රධානියා, රජයේ ප්‍රධානියා, ආණ්ඩුවේ ප්‍රධානියා සහ සන්නද්ධ සේනාවල ප්‍රධානියා වන්නේ ජනාධිපතිවරයායි.

ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථාවේ 43 (2) වගන්තිය යටතේ කැබිනට් මණ්ඩලයේ ප්‍රධානියා වන්නේ ජනාධිපතිවරයාම බව හිටපු අගවිනිසුරු සරත් එන්. සිල්වා මහතා පෙන්වා දෙයි. එම වගන්තිය අනුව ජනාධිපතිවරයා කැබිනට් මණ්ඩලයේද සාමාජිකයකු විය යුතුයි.

කැබිනට් මණ්ඩලය නොපැවැත්වීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් ජනාධිපතිවරයාට පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට කරුණු ඉදිරිපත් කළ හැකි වුවද කැබිනට් මණ්ඩලය රැස්කරන ලෙසට ජනාධිපතිවරයාට පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ යෝජනාවක් මඟින් කිසිදු ආකාරයකින් බලපෑම් කළ නොහැකි බවද හිටපු අගවිනිසුරු සරත් එන්. සිල්වා මහතා පෙන්වා දෙයි.ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ තීරණයට එරෙහි වෙමින් අගමැතිවරයාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් කැබිනට් මණ්ඩලය රැස්වුවහොත් නීතිය අනුව එම කැබිනට් මණ්ඩල රැස්වීමේදී ගනු ලබන සියලු තීන්දු නීති විරෝධී වන බවත් ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් ජනාධිපතිවරයාට එම තීරණ නොපිළිගන්නා ලෙසට රටට ප්‍රකාශයක් සිදුකිරීමට හැකි බවත් හිටපු අගවිනිසුරුවරයා පෙන්වා දෙයි.

ජනාධිපතිවරයා නොමැති අවස්ථාවක ජනාධිපතිවරයා විසින් පත්කරනු ලබන වැඩබලන ජනාධිපතිවරයකුට කැබිනට් මණ්ඩලය රැස්කිරීමට හැකි බවද හිටපු අගවිනිසුරුවරයා සඳහන් කරයි.

එවැනි වැඩබලන ජනාධිපතිවරයකු පත්කළේ එකම එක අවස්ථාවකදී පමණක් බවත් වරක් එවකට ජනාධිපතිනි චන්ද්‍රිකා බණ්ඩාරනායක කුමාරතුංග මහත්මිය විසින් එවකට අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරයාව සිටි රත්නසිරි වික්‍රමනායක මහතා වැඩබලන ජනාධිපති ලෙස පත් කළ බවත් ඒ මහතා දිවුරුම් දුන්නේ එවකට අගවිනිසුරු ලෙස ක්‍රියා කළ තමා ඉදිරියේදී බවත් හිටපු අගවිනිසුරු සරත් එන්. සිල්වා මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

කාඩ් බෝඩ් වීරයෝ එකතුවෙලා ජාතිභේද ඇති කරලා, රට ගිනි තියනවා. යෑයි නිවාස ඉදිකිරීම් හා සංස්‌කෘතික ඇමැති මම 3අද සිංහල අය වෙනුවෙන් ගමක්‌ හදලා විවෘත කරනවා. හෙට මුස්‌ලිම් අයට, අනිද්දා දෙමළ අයට. මේක තමයි නියම සංහිඳියාව කියන්නේ සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාස මහතා කියා සිටියේය.

 ඒ මහතා ගල්ගමුව. ඉහලගම ප්‍රදේශයේ ඉදිකළ 4 198 වැනි උදා ගම්මානය වූ zzසෝමානන්ද නාහිsමිගම ජනතා අයිතියට පත් කරමින් එසේ පැවසීය. තවදුරටත් කතා කළ ඇමැතිවරයා මෙසේද කීවේය. 5 මහ ලොකුවට ජාතිය ගැන කතාකරන අය අනාගතය ගැන කිසිදු දෙයක්‌ ගැන නොදැනයි ඔය දඟලන්නේ. 6 විදේශ විනිමය වැඩියෙන් ම ලැබෙන්නේ විදේශවල වැඩ කරන අපේ ශ්‍රී ලාංකිකයන්ගෙනුයි. 7 රටවල් කිහිපයක්‌ එකතු වෙලා අපේ රටට ඉන්ධන එවීම නතර කළොත් අපි මොකද කරන්නේ. 8ජාතිය ආරක්‍ෂා කරන්න නම් හොඳ අවබෝධයක්‌ අවශ්‍ය වෙනවා.

 8මේ රට නියම සිංහල බෞද්ධ නම් රටේ ජාති ආගම් කුල භේද තියෙන්න බැහැ. මෝඩ විදියට සිංහල බෞද්ධ රාජ්‍ය ඇති කරන්න බැහැ. දේශපාලන වාසි බලාගෙන කතා කරලා එවැනි රාජ්‍ය ගොඩනඟන්නත් බැහැ.9 මෙවැනි ජාතිවාදයක්‌ අවුස්‌සලා අරලියගහ මන්දිරයට, ජනාධිපති මැඳුරට රිංගල තමන්ගේ පවුලේ අයට තනතුරු තාන්න, මාන්න බෙදාගන්න සමහර අය දත කනවා. ඒවාට ජනතාව රැවටෙන්නේ නැහැ.10 බුදු හාමුදුරුවෝ සියලු සත්ත්වයෝ සුවපත් වේවා, නිදුක්‌ වේවා කියා දේශනා කළා මිසක්‌ සිංහල බෞද්ධයන් විතරක්‌ නිදුක්‌ වේවා කියලා දේශනා කළේ නැහැ. මෙවැනි රඟපාන අය හරි හැටි බුද්ධාගමවත් දන්නේ නැහැ.

 11 රටේ පාලකයෝ ජනතාවගේ හද ගැස්‌ම හඳුනාගන්න ඕනෑ.12 පියරු බබාලට ජාතික නායකයෝ කියන්න බැහැ. 13 සාමාන්‍ය පොඩි මිනිහගේ දුක දන්න අයෙක්‌ අපේ රටට අවශ්‍යම කාලය දැන් ඇවිල්ලා.

තමන්ගේ පන්සලෙන් අක්‌කර 5 ක්‌ දෙන්න තරම් පෙතන්මලු රාජමහා විහාරයේ නායක හාමුදරුවෝ ඉදිරිපත් වුණා. මගෙන් ඇහුවේ නෑ උන්වහන්සේ මේ ගෙවල් කුමන ජාතිකයන්ට ද කුමන ආගමික අයට ද දෙන්නේ කියලා. ඡේද්දගම සිරි සීවලී හිමියන් සැබෑ ජනතාවාදී බුද්ධ පුත්‍රයෙක්‌. ඒ නිසා උන්වහන්සේගේ ගුරු හිමියන් නමින් මේ ගම්මානය නම් කළා. එවැනි පරමාර්ථ ඇති නායකයන්ගේ අගය දැන් ජනතාවට වැටහේවි යෑයි ද වැඩිදුරටත් පැවැසීය”

අද මේ රට වෑටි ඈති අගාධයෙන් ගොඩ ගෑනීමට අප විසි තෝරාගතයුත්තේ කුමන ආකාරයේ නායකයෙක්දෑය් සිතාගෑනීමට ඉහත දෑක්වෙන ප්‍රකාස පිලිබන්ද මවිසින් නගා ඈති කරුණු පාටක ඔබට උපකාරවේයය් මම සිතමි

1මෙහිදී ඔහු කාර්ඩ්බෝඩ් වීරයෝ වසයෙන් හන්දුන්වන්නේ කව්ද යන්න පෑහෑදිලිකලොත් සුදුසුයෑය් මම හිතමි.මන්ද රට,දෑය සහ සමය ගෑන හිතන, කථාකරන හා ලියන සියලුදෙනාම මේ ගනයට වෑටෙනවා ඈතයි මට සිතෙන් අබෑවිනි.

2මෝඩ විදියට සිංහල බෞද්ධ රාජ්ය ඇති කරන්න බැහැ

ඒ කියන්නේ මේ රට සින්හල බෞද්ධ රාජ්යක් නොවේ කියන එකද.එතකොට මන්ගල සමාරවීරගේ ගොන් කථාව ඔහුත් අනුමත කනවාද

අනෙක ක්‍රිස්ථු පූර්ව 307 සිට1815 දක්වාම මේ රට සින්හල බෞද්ධ රටක් වසයෙන් පෑවති බවවත් ඔහු දන්නෙ නීද්ද. ඒ වගේම 1815 දී ඉන්ග්‍රීසිනුථ් ඒ බව පිලිගථ් බව ඔහු දන්නේ නෑද්ද.

ඒ නිසා මේ රට අමුතුවෙන් සින්හල බෞද්ධ රාජ්යක් කිරීමට දෙයක් නෑත. සුලුජන කොතස්වල චන්දය නොලෑබේවි කියන භය නිසා මේ රටේ දේසපාලන්ග්නයින් නොපිලිගත්තාට වසර 2500 තිස්සේම මේ රට පෑවතියේ සින්හල බෞද්ධ රාජ්යක් වසයෙනි. මෙහි මෝඩ විදියට කටයුතු කරන අය වසයෙන් ඔහු හන්දුන්වන්නේ පුජ්ය  ගලබොඩ අත්තේ සහ රතන හිමි වෑනි අයද

3මම අද සිංහල අය වෙනුවෙන් ගමක් හදලා විවෘත කරනවා. හෙට මුස්ලිම් අයට, අනිද්දා දෙමළ අයට. මේක තමයි නියම සංහිඳියාව

මෙහෙම මේ සින්හල  රට පුරාම තෑනින් තෑන තනි මුස්ලිම්, දෙමල ගම් අලුතෙන් පිහිටුවීමෙන් මේ රට විනාසවෙනබව  ඔහුට තේරෙන්නේ නෑද්ද. ඔහු සන්හින්දියාව යන්නෙන් අදහස්කරන්නේ මොකක්ද. සින්හල ජාතිය සම්පුර්ණයෙන්ම මේ රටින් හින්දවා දෑමීමද.

(මේ අතරේ අගමෑති රනිල් සහ කිරිඈල්ල ඈමතිවරයා කන්දුරට පුරාම වතුකරයේ දෙමල මිනිසු ලක්ස 12 කට  පිදුරුතලාගල මුදුන දක්වා තනි දෙමල ගම්මාන හදමින් රටේ හා ජාතියේ  හදවතවන් කන්ද උඩරට ඉන්දියානු ප්‍රාන්තයක් කරගෙන යනවා. මේ දෙගොල්ලාම එකතුවෙලා මේ සින්හල රට දෙමල සහ මුස්ලිම් වරුන්ට සින්නක්කර කරදෙන්ටද මේ දන්ගලන්නේ.සින්හල  රජවරුන්ගේ අනුකම්පව නිසා රටේ තෑනින්තෑන  එකා දෙන්න පදින්චි බේරුවල, තිහාරිය, මාවනෑල්ල, අකුරන, ගලගෙදර, මඩවල, දිගන, පන්ගරගම්මන සහ 1865 දී පුරුතුගීසි සන්හාරයෙන් පනබේරාගෙන බේරී ආ මුසල්මානුවන් පදින්චිකල නෑගෙනහිර පලාතේ මුස්ලිම් ගම්මානවල සහරාන් ලා සහ හිස්බුල්ලලා වෑනි අන්තවාදීන්ගෙන් සහ එබන්දු ගම්මානවලින් අද මේ ජාතියට පෑමිණ ඈති වියසන නොපෙනීද  මුස්ලිම් චන්ද ලබාගෑනීම සන්දහා මේ සින්හල රට මෑද තවත් මුස්ලිම් ගම් හදා පුජා කන්නේ.

මේ කරන්නේඅමුඩ රෙද්ද අස්සේ ඉන්න නයි මදිවාටද තවත් නයි දා ගෑනිමක් නොවේද.

මේත් 1948 සිට මේ දක්වාම  සුලුජන චන්ද එකතුකිරීමේ තරන්ගයේම සින්හල ජාතිය පාවාදුන් ජාතිද්රෝහී වෑදපිලිවෙලෙම කොටසක් නේද මොහුත්මේ කරන්නේතෑනින් තෑන තවථ් මුස්ලිම් ගම්මන් හදන්නේ..

4 අලුතෙන් ගම්මාන 198

මේ  ගම්මාන 198 න් කීයක් මුස්ලිම්ද, කිය්යක් දෙමලද, කීයක් සින්හලද කියා ඔහු වහාම රටට ප්‍රකාසයක් කලයුතුය.

5 මහ ලොකුවට ජාතිය ගැන කතාකරන අය අනාගතය ගැන කිසිදු දෙයක් ගැන නොදැනයි ඔය දඟලන්නේ

ඒ කියන්නේ මේ රට සින්හල බෞද්ධ රාජ්යක් නොවේ කියන එකද.එතකොට මන්ගල සමාරවීරගේ ගොන් කථාව ඔහුත් අනුමත කනවාද

මේ කියන්නෙ මෑදපෙරදිග රෑකියාකරන කාන්තාවෝ ගෙනද. ඒ කියන්නේ මුස්ලිම් වරුන් තරහ කරගත්තොත් ඒ සල්ලි නෑතිවෙනවා කියන එකද.අනෙක් හෑම දේසපාලග්නයෙකුට මෙන්ම මොහුටද මේ වහල්සේවය ගෑන කිසිම අවබෝධයක් නෑද්ද. ඒ වගේම ලෙජ්ජාවක් නෑද්ද. මේ ප්‍රස්නය විසන්දීමට ඔහු යෝජනා කරන වෑද පිලිවෙල කුමක්ද

7 රටවල් කිහිපයක් එකතු වෙලා අපේ රටට ඉන්ධන එවීම නතර කළොත් අපි මොකද කරන්නේ

මේ කියන්නෙ රාජපක්සලාගෑනද. රනිල් ඒකට රින්ගලා මෙ රටට හා ජාතියට කරන විනාසය  මොහුට නොපෙනෙන්නෙ ඈයි

අප්පේ බුද්ධාගම ගෑන දන්නා තරම.  මේ රටේ වසර 2500 ක් තිස්සේ බුධාගම රෑක්කේ සින්හල බෞද්ධයින් මිස ඉථිහාසය පුරාම එය විනාසකල දෙමලුන් හෝ මරක්කලයින් නොවෙන බව ඔහු දන්නවාද,

1948 සිට මේ රටේ දේසපාලුවන් සිදුකල ගොන්කන් හා අමනකම් ගෑන නිවෑරදි අවභෝධයක්, නොමෑතිව සුලුජන චන්දය දෙසම බලාගෙන මේ සින්හල බෞද්ධ රට පුරාම තව තවත් දෙමල මුස්ලිම් ගම්මාන හදමින් මේ යන්නේ කොහේදෑයි නුවනින් බලා කටයුතු කිරීම මෑනවි

පසුගිය 6 දා අනුරාධපුරේ ගල්නෑවේ පිහිටවු සෆ්‍රා ග්‍රාමම් වෑනි තනි මුස්ලිම් ගම්මාන පිහිටුවීම  වහාම නතාරනොකලොත්  ඔබේ ජනාධිපති සිහිනය දවල් සිහිනයක් පමණක් වන බවනම් ඉස්ථිරවම කිව හෑක.

ඒ නිසා මේ රට අමුතුවෙන් සින්හල බෞද්ධ රාජ්යක් කිරීමට දෙයක් නෑත. සුලුජන කොටස්වල චන්දය නොලෑබේවි කියන භය නිසා මේ රටේ දේසපාලන්ග්නයින් නොපිලිගත්තාට වසර 2500 තිස්සේම මේ රට පෑවතියේ සින්හල බෞද්ධ රාජ්යක් වසයෙනි.

මේ රට අද වෑටී ඈති අඝාධයෙන් ගොඩගෑනීමට මෙවන් අදහස් ඈති අයෙකුට හෑකිවේද යන්න ගෑන  ගෑබුරින් සිතා බෑලීමට මේ ප්රකාස මාලාව   උපකාරවේයි මම සිතමි.

සමස්ත ලංකා වතු කම්කරු සංගමය

2019 වතු කම්කරු සාමූහික ගිවිසුම අත්සන් කරන මොහොතේ පොරොන්දු වූ රු 50/} වතු කම්කරුවන්ට වහාම ගෙවන ලෙස සමස්ත ලංකා වතු කම්කරු සංගමයේ සභාපති කේ. සෙල්වරාජ් මහතා ආණ්ඩුවෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටී. අද දින (13.06.2019) කොළඹ පැවති මාධ්‍ය හමුවකදී ඔහු මේ බව පැවසීය.

2019 මාර්තු මාසයේදී වතු කම්කරු 1000 සටන මොටකරදමා දිනකට රු 50/} ක් රජයේ මැදිහත්වීමෙන් ලබා දීමට පොරොන්දු වුනා. එය 2019 මැයි මාසයේ වැටුප සමග ගෙවීම ආරම්භ කරන බව පැවසුවා. එහෙත් වතු කම්කරු වැටුප් ජුනි 10 වෙනිදා ගෙවා තිබුනත් රජයෙන් ලබාදීමට පොරොන්දු වූ රු 50/} ලබා දුන්නේ නැහැ. ඒක මිට පෙර පැවති ආණ්ඩුවලින් වතු කම්කරුවන්ට සහනාධාර ලබාදුන්නා වගේ. රු 1000/} වැටුප ලබා දුන්නා වගේ.

1994 බලයට ආපු ආණ්ඩුව පිටි සහනාධාරයක් සමග භූමිතෙල් සහනාධාරයක් ලබාදෙන බවට පොරොන්දු වුනා. මහින්ද චින්තනයෙන් සහල්, පිටි හා භූමිතෙල් සහනාධාර ක්‍රමයකට ලබාදෙන බව කිව්වා. ඒත් මේ කුමන වර්ගයකවත් සහනයක් වතු කම්කරුවන්ට ලැබුනේ නැහැ. 2015 ජනාධිපතිවරණය පැවත්වෙන අවස්ථාවෙදීත් වතු කම්කරුවන්ගේ 1000 අරගලය පැවතියා. ඒ මොහොතේදී වර්තමාන ජනාධිපතිවරවයා බලයට පැමිණි විගස රු 1000 වතු කම්කරුවන්ට ලබාදෙන බවට පොරොන්දු වුනා. 2015 මහ මැතිවරණයේදී වත්මන් අගමැති රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහද වතු කම්කරුවන්ට රු 1000/} ලබා දෙන බවට පොරොන්දු වුනේ තමන් බලයට පත් කරන්න කියන ආයාචනයත් සමගයි. එහෙත් වතු කම්කරුවන්ට මේ වනතෙක් දෙනවා කියපු කිසිම දෙයක් ලබාදීලා නැහැ.

2019 වතු කම්කරු සාමූහික ගිවිසුම අත්සන් කරන මොහොතේ ලබා දීමට පොරොන්දු වූ රු 50/} මුදල වහාම ගෙවන ලෙස අපි ආණ්ඩුවට බලකර සිටිනවා. ඒ වගේම මිට පෙර පැවති ආණ්ඩු ලබාදුන් පොරොන්දු කඩකලා මෙන් මෙවරද කටයුතු කළහොත් මේ ආණ්ඩුව ගෙදර යැවිම සඳහා තීරණයක් ගන්නා ලෙස ඉල්ලා සිටිනවා. අද වන විට රටේ සියලූ සමාජ ස්ථරයන් මේ ආණ්ඩුව කෙරෙහි බලවත් කලකිරීමකින් ඉන්නේ. එළඹෙන මැතිවරණ වලදී වතු කම්කරු ජනතාව රැවටූ නායකයන් පැරදවිම සඳහා කලකිරීමට ලක්ව සිටින සියලූ ජන කණ්ඩායම් සමග එක්වෙමින් ආණ්ඩුව පලවා හැරීමේ සටනට එක්වන ලෙස රටේ සමස්ත වතු කම්කරු ජනතාවගෙන් නැවතත් ඉල්ලා සිටිනවා.

ඊයේ දිනය දක්වා පාස්කු දින ත්‍රස්ත ක්‍රියාවට සම්බන්ද දේශපාලඥයින් පිළිබඳව පැමි‚ලි ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට කාලය ලබාදීමේන් සිදුවුනේ තවත් කල් මැරීමක් පමණයි. මේ ත්‍රස්ත ප්‍රහාරයට සෘජුව හෝ වක්‍රව සම්බන්ධ අය සුද්ද කිරීමේ උපායක් ලෙස ආණAඩුව පොලිසිය මගින් කමිටුවක් පත්කරලා පැමි‚ලි බාරගැනීම සිද්ද වුනා. අපේ විස්වාසය නම් මේ ප්‍රහාරයට සම්බන්ද පිරිස පිළිබඳව පොලීසිය පැහැදිලි සාධාරන පරීක්ෂණයක් සිදුකරාවිය යන්නයි. මම මේ විශේෂ පොලිස් කමිටුවට පැමි‚ල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් කලා. පසුගිය සමයේ මේ රටට අයතා ලෙස ආපු මුදල් ත්‍රස්ත ක්‍රියාව සඳහා යොදාගත් බවට පැහැදිලි වෙලා තිඛෙනවා ඒ පිළිබඳව පරීක්ෂණයක් අවශ්‍ය බවටයි මම පැමි‚ලි කලේ. එතැනදී ගත්ත කාරණය තමයි යාපනේ ඉඳල ෂොපින් බැග් එකක සරමයි කමිසෙයි ගෙන කොළඹ ආපු රිෂාඩ් බදුර්දීන් සහ එතුමාගේ නෑයින් එතුමාගේ හිත මිත්‍රයින් පුදුම සහගත ලෙස ධනවතුන් උනේ කොහොමද කියන එක. ලෝකයේ බොහෝ රටවල දේශපාලඥයා සහ ඒ අයගේ පවුලේ වත්කම් පවා ප්‍රසිද්ද කල යුතුයි. මම කෝටිපතියෙක් උනේ රේගුවට වෙට්ටු දාල කියල ජනාදිපතිවරයාගේ සහෝදර ඩඩ්ලි සිරිසේන මහතා පසුගිය කාලේ කිව්වා. රිෂාඩ් බදුර්දීන් සහ එතුමාගේ සහචරයින් පෙන්නන්න ඕනේ, ඔප්පු කරන්න ඕනේ වේගයෙන් අති විශාල ධනස්කන්දයක් හොයාගත්තේ කොහොමද කියන එක. රිෂාඩ් බදුර්දීන්ග්ගේ නමට මොනවත් නෑ කියලා, එයාට ගැලවෙන්න බෑ. බදුර්දීන් පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට දුන්න පළමු වත්කම් බැරකම් ප්‍රකාශය මුලික කරගෙන සම්පුර්ණයෙන් එතුමාගේ පවුලේ වත්කම් බැරකම් පිළිබඳව පරීක්ෂණ කල යුතුයි. අල්ලස් හා දුෂණ විමර්ශන පනත යටතේ නියම පරීක්ෂණයක් සිදුවෙයි කියල විශ්වාස කරන්න බෑ. මුදල් විශ=ද්ධිකරන පනත යටතේ මේ අය වහාම නීතිය හමුවට ගෙන ආ යුතයි .මේ තරම් දැවැන්ත ප්‍රහාරයක් එල්ල වෙලා තිබියදී ඒවාට සල්ලි ආපු විදිහ ගැන සාක්ෂි පොලීසිය අපෙන් අහනවනම් මේ රටට පොලීසියක් අවශ්‍ය නෑනේ. අපේ කාර්ය බාරය උනේ මේ දේශපාලනඥයින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්න මොකක් හරි බාධාවක් තියෙනවානම් එය නිරවුල් කිරීමයි. ඒ සඳහා පැහැදිලි වගකීම් සහගත පැමි‚ල්ලක් අපි ඉදිරිපත් කලා. යුරෝපා සංගමය මුදල් විශ=ද්දීකරනය පිළිබඳව අපේ රට බ්ලැක් ලිස්ට් කරලා 2019.01.09 වැනිද නිකුත් කල නිවේදනය මම මේ වෙලාවේ මාද්‍යට නිකුත් කරන්න බලාපොරොත්තු වෙනවා. පසුගිය රජය යටතේ මෙලෙස අයතා මුදල් එන ආයතන 600 වැඩ තහනම් කලා. සාමාන්‍ය ජනතාවගේ මුදල් නම් ඩොලර් 10000 විතර ගෙනාවොත් බැංකුව ප්‍රශ්න රැසක් අහනවා. එතකොට මේ තරම් මුදල් ගෙනාවේ කොහොමද? ඒ පිලිබඳ පැහැදිලි විමර්ශනයක් කරන්න කියල අපි රහස් පොලිසියෙන් ඉල්ලනවා. මේ මුදල් නැව් මාර්ගයෙන් ගෙනාවද නැත්නම් ගුවන් මගින් ගෙනාවද බැංකු මාර්ගයෙන් ගෙනාවද ලක්ෂ පහළොවට වඩා ආපු ගිණුම් මොනවද ලියල පරීක්ෂා කරපුවාම හොරුත් එක්කම බදු අහුවෙයි ත්‍රස්ත වාදය හොයාගන්න පහසුම ක්‍රමය තමයි මේ බැංකු ගිණුම් ටික පරීක්ෂා කිරීම. මේ ආණ්ඩුව මොලේ පාවිච්චි කරලා හරි ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ගත්ත නම් මේ අමානුෂික ප්‍රහාරය වලක්වා ගන්න තිබුනා. හොඳම දේ තමයි ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ ගෞරවය ආරක්ෂා කරගෙන සෘජු තීරණයකට එලබිය යුතුයි. මේ රට රාවන රජතුමා දුටුගැමුණු රජතුමා වගේ සෘජු නායකයෝ පාලනය කරපු රටක් ඒ නිසා කොන්ද කෙලින් තියාගෙන වැඩ කරන්න පුළුවන් නායකයෙක් මේ රටට අවශ්‍යයි හොඳට සෘජු මේ රටට වැඩදායි රට නැවත ගොඩගන්න පුළුවන් කෙලින් නායකයෙක් මේ රටේ නායකයා කරන්න ඔනෑ. ඒ සඳහා මෛත්‍රීපාල ජනාදිපතිවරයා තමන්ගේ දුරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වී ජනාධිපතිවරණයකට යාම තමයි ඉතාමත්ම කාලොචිත කියල මම සිහිපත් කරනවා.

අද මේ රටත් ජනතාවත් දැවැන්ත අර්බුදයකට මුහුන දෙනවා. මේ අර්බුදය මුහුණ දෙන්න හොද වැඩපිළීවෙලක් අවහ්‍යයි. සමාජයීය ආර්ථීක, දේශපාලන වශයෙන් අර්බුදය නිසා කැප්ටන් නැති නැති නැවක් වගේ. තමන්ගේ වගකීම්වලින් බැහැරවිම නිසා අගමැති පුද්ගලික සංචාරයක. ජනාධිපති තවත් සංචාරයක. රටටත් ජනතාවටත් වගකිය යුතු නායකයෙක් පැය 48ට නැහැ. කැබිනෙට්ටුව පවත්වා ගන්න බැරි තත්ත්වයක් අගමැති හා ජනාධිපති අතර ප්‍රශ්න ඔඩු දුවලා. දැනටත් ඉස්ලිම් ත්‍රස්තවාදිය කි්‍රයාත්මකයි. තේරීම් කාරක සබාවත් කරන්නේ එකිනෙකාගේ ප්‍රතිරූප ගොඩ නැගීම හා චෝදනා ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමයි. දැන් කැප්ටන් නැති නැවට රිංගන ජාත්‍යන්තරය උත්සාහ කරන්නේ මුහුදු මංකොල්ලකාරයින් නැවට පනින්න සූදානම් වෙලා ඉන්නවා වගෙයි. එජාපය ආණ්ඩුව ගන්නා හැම මොහොතකදිම කියන්නේ නැති බැරි අය ඇති හැකි අය කරන්නයි කියනවා. එජාපයේ ඇති හැකි අයටනම් දැන් සමෘද්දිය දෙන්න අරන් ඒ ව්‍යාපාරයේ නොතිබුණු ගැටලූවකට පටලවලා.
ලක්ෂ 6ට සමෘද්දිය දෙනකොට බැංකුවල තියෙන මුදල් වලින් මිලියන 400ක් විතර එජාපයේ ප්‍රචාරණය සදහා යොදා ගෙන. මේ විදියට බලද්දි මිලියන 400ට ආසන්න මුදලක් නාස්ති කරලා කරන්නේ තමන්ගේ ප්‍රතිරූපය හදාගන්නයි. දිලිදුකම පිටුදැකිම කියලා ඇති හැකි අයටයි සමෘද්ධිය දෙන්නේ. ගමේ නිලධාරීන් එකතු වෙලයි සැබෑ දුප්පත් ජනතාවට සමෘද්දිය දෙන්නේ. ආර්ථීකයේ ශක්තිමත් තමන්ගේ පාක්ෂිකයින්ටයි මේ අය සමෘද්ධිය දෙන්නේ.වඩා සුදුස්සා වෙනුවට තමන්ගේ අයට සහනාදාරය දෙන්න ගිහින් මේ අර්බුදය රට පුරාම පැතිරිලා. අද සමෘද්ධි නිලධාරින්ට ස්ථීරපත්විම් දෙනවා කිව්වාට දිලා නැහැ. මිය ගිය අයට විශ්‍රාම වැටපු නැහැ. වැන්දඹු අනත්දරු අරමුදල් ලැබිලා නැහැ. රාජ්‍ය සේවයේ ඉන්න මේ නිලධාරින්ට කුඩම්මාගේ සැලකිලියි දෙන්නේ. තමන්ගේ පාක්ෂිකයින්ට සමෘද්ධි සහනාධෘරය දෙනවායි කී කියමන සනාථ කරමින් සමෘද්ධිය වලපල්ලට යැවීමයි ආණ්ඩුව කරන්නේ.
දැන් ජවිපේ ආණAඩුව ගෙදර යවන්න වැඩ කරනවාලූ. ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණයි මේ ආණAඩුව ගෙනාවේ. මහින්දගේ කඩේ බඩු හොද නැහැ කියලායි ඔවුන් එදා කිව්වේ. අනුර කුමාර දිසානායකලාට මේ ආණ්ඩුව ගෙදර යවන්න උත්සාහ කරන්න දෙයක් නැහැ. ජනතාව ඒකට පෙළ ගැහිලයි ඉන්නේ. නැවත කඩේ යන්න ජවිපේ ලෑස්ති වෙන්න ඕනේ නැහැ. ජනතාව එළ්ල කරන චෝදනාවලින් බේරෙන්න රනිල් හාමු ගෙදර යවනවා කියන සටන් පාඨය ඉදිරියට අරන්. හාමු ගෙදර යවන වැඩේ අපි කරන්නම්. රටේ මේ වෙද්දි විවිධ ප්‍රශ්න ඇති වෙමින් තිඛෙනවා.පාස්කු දා ත්‍රස්තවාදී බෝම්බවලින් මිය ගිය අයට සාධාරණත්වය ඉටු නොකළාට මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා ඇතුලූ විපක්ෂයට චෝදනා කිරීම නම් අරඹලා. ආටක නාටක පෙන්වන්නේ නැතිව තමන්ට ආණAඩුව කරන්න බැරිනම් කරන්න පුලූවන් කෙනෙකුට ඉඩ දීලා ගෙදර යන්න කියන පණීවිඩයයි ආණAඩුවට දෙන්න තියෙන්නේ.

පුද්ගලික ආරවුලක් මුල් කරගෙන ජනතාව විනාශකාරී තත්ත්වයකට පත්වෙලා. පහුගිය 10 වැනිදා ඉන්දියන් ඔත්තු සේවය පාස්කු සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් වාර්තා කරලා තිබුණත් රජය නිවැරදිව කි්‍රයාත්මක නොවීම නිසයි ජනතාව ප්‍රහාරයට පක්වුනේ නැහැ. පහුගිය 10 වැනිදා තවත් පස්දෙනෙකුගේ නාමලේඛණයක් බුද්ධී අංශවලට දුන්නා කියනවා. මේ කාරණය සුලූවට තකන්න එපා. ජිවිත අහිමි වුනාට පස්සේ මොනවා කළත් වැඩක් නැහැ. පොලිස්පති ඇතුලූ බුද්ධි අංශ නිලධාරීන් මේ වෙද්දි ඉවත් වෙලා තියෙනවා. වැඩ බලන පොලිස්පතිවරයෙක් ඉන්නේ. ඒ නිසා මේවා සම්බන්ධයෙන් නිවරදිව සොයා බැලීමක් වෙයිද කියන්න බැහැ. මාධ්‍ය මේ සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් පියවර ගත්තේ නැත්නම් ජනතාවට නිවැරදි තොරතුරු ලැඛෙන්නේත් නැහැ. අඩුම තරමේ ඉන්දියන් ඔත්තු සේවා දුන්න තොරතුරු මාධ්‍යයට ලැබුණා නම් එදා ජනතාව පල්ලි යන එක හරි නතර කරනවා.

මුස්ලිම් ඇමැතිවරුන් ගේ ඒකමතික තීරණයට හේතු වුනේ රිෂාඞ් බදුර්දින් ඇමතිවරයා ඉල්ලා අස් නොවීමයි .ඕනම වැරදි වඩා වැඩක් කලොත් කළේ අපේ කෙනෙක් නම් අපි ඒ වෙනුවෙන් පෙනී සිටිනවා වැනි පණිවිඩය කුයි මෙයින් දුන්නෙ .ජනතාව අතරේ මේ තත්ත්වය සම්බන්ධයෙන් විරෝධයක් ඇති වෙලා .රට ව්‍යාකූල කිරීමේ වගකීම රජය භාර ගත යුතුයි.

(CNN)Several popular breakfast foods, including Cheerios and Nature Valley products, continue to test positive for trace amounts of a controversial herbicide that may increase the risk of cancer, according to a report released Wednesday by an environmental advocacy group.The Environmental Working Group, which has links to the organics industry, found that all 21 of the products it tested had levels of glyphosate that were “higher than what EWG scientists consider protective for children’s health.”Manufacturers maintain that their foods are safe, and the findings aren’t unprecedented: The group also found in October that most of the breakfast cereals it tested contained glyphosate, the main ingredient in the weed killer Roundup.The new report follows two prominent legal verdicts that determined the herbicide caused cancer in plaintiffs.

Juries say glyphosate causes cancer, award billions

A federal jury unanimously determined in March that Roundup was a “substantial factor” in causing a California man’s cancer. And last month, California jurors ordered the manufacturer, Monsanto, to pay over $2 billion to a couple who said long-term exposure to the product caused their cancers.The latter verdict is being appealed, but about 11,000 similar cases are pending in state and federal courts.Pharmaceutical giant Bayer AG, which now owns Monsanto, maintains that its product is safe.A spokeswoman for the company’s crop science subsidiary, Charla Lord, said that an “extensive body of science” and “the conclusions of regulators around the world” show that “glyphosate-based products are safe when used as directed.”General Mills, which manufactures all of the products tested in the EWG report, said in a statement that its “top priority is food safety.”The company noted that “most crops grown in fields use some form of pesticides and trace amounts are found in the majority of food we all eat” but said it was working to “minimize the use of pesticides on the ingredients we use in our foods.”General Mills did not directly respond when asked why it is reducing pesticide use when it already considers its products to be safe.

How much glyphosate is too much?

An analysis published in February found that glyphosate can increase cancer risk by up to 41%, although the researchers focused on those with the “highest exposure” to the chemical, like groundskeepers, who are exposed to more glyphosate than people may consume through snacks.The herbicide can make its way into processed foods after being used on farms that grow oats, but none of the levels found in any food products in the new report exceeded the Environmental Protection Agency’s legal limits.”It is not surprising that very low levels of pesticides, including glyphosate, are found in foodstuff,” said Dr. Paolo Boffetta, associate director for population sciences at Mount Sinai’s Tisch Cancer Institute. “In general, these levels are unlikely to cause health effects in consumers.”Still, “it is important that people know whether there is glyphosate or other chemicals in their food, even at very low levels,” said Boffetta, who was not involved in the reports or the analysis.General Mills emphasized in its statement that it followed “strict rules” set by “experts at the [Food and Drug Administration] and EPA.” Bayer’s Lord said “the reality is that regulatory authorities have strict rules when it comes to pesticide residues, and the levels in this report are far below the established safety standards.”The Environmental Working Group, however, uses a far more conservative health benchmark that includes an added buffer for children, as “exposure during early life can have more significant effects on development later in life,” said Dr. Alexis Temkin, an EWG scientist who co-authored both reports and spoke to CNN last year.Manufacturers dispute that threshold. In an October statement, General Mills said that “the extremely low levels of pesticide residue cited in recent news reports is a tiny fraction of the amount the government allows.”The EPA said in April that the proper use of glyphosate poses “no risks to public health” and that the chemical “is not a carcinogen,” a cancer-causing chemical. But a World Health Organization agency, the International Agency for Research on Cancer, determined in 2015 that glyphosate is “probably carcinogenic to humans.”A separate WHO panel assessing pesticide residues said in 2016 that “glyphosate is unlikely to pose a carcinogenic risk to humans from exposure through the diet,” adding to a dizzying array of contradictory findings, but the International Agency for Research on Cancer has vigorously defended its conclusion.The agency wrote in 2018 that it “has been subject to unprecedented, coordinated efforts to undermine the evaluation, the program and the organization.” Those attacks, it said, “have largely originated from the agro-chemical industry and associated media outlets.”

A war of words

A 2017 CNN investigation of internal emails from Monsanto appeared to show company executives attempting to discredit the International Agency for Research on Cancer report before it was even released.One executive’s email, titled “RE: IARC planning,” suggested that the company ghostwrite parts of a 2015 study in which experts rejected the agency’s finding that glyphosate could cause cancer. A Monsanto spokeswoman told CNN at the time that the study was not ghostwritten and was “the work of the glyphosate expert panel.”Although the EPA has maintained that glyphosate is safe, CNN’s investigation also raised questions about industry influence at the federal agency.A Monsanto executive wrote in a 2015 internal company email, for example, that an EPA official offered to help quash another agency review of glyphosate, saying, “If I can kill this I should get a medal.”The company has denied any undue influence over regulators. And its parent company, Bayer Crop Science, criticized the Environmental Working Group in its recent statement to CNN.”The group behind the new report has a long history of spreading misinformation about pesticide residues,”spokeswoman Lord said.EWG, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, denied those allegations. Bayer’s criticism “must be taken with a grain of salt,” EWG President Ken Cook said in a statement. In light of lawsuits, he said, Bayer was “desperate to continue hiding the truth.”Though it maintains that it is an independent organization, EWG acknowledges support from the organics industry, stating that its “corporate partners for general support and events” include Organic Valley and Stonyfield Farms. Foods labeled organic may not be grown with most synthetic substances, including glyphosate.The group also has a “shared services agreement” with the Organic Voices Action Fund, a nonprofit organization funded by companies such as Nature’s Path and Annie’s — both of which make cereal.

KOCHI/COIMBATORE: The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday registered a case against six alleged members of an Islamic State module, which was allegedly planning terrorist attacks in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The accused, the agency claims, have connections with Sri Lankan ‘Easter Blasts’ mastermind Zahran Hashim.

A key member in the busted module was Facebook friend of Hashim and had been following his speeches online for the past two years. Interestingly, the conversations between the duo on the social media platform, according to the agency, were in Tamil and not Urdu.

On Wednesday, sleuths from the agency raided seven places in Coimbatore based on an FIR filed recently in Kochi. The officials are understood to have unearthed electronic storage devices and other documents.
The accused are currently being interrogated. We have also summoned a few other suspects for questioning,” said an official source. NIA says that while it was investigating Indian links to the Lankan blasts, it received information about an IS module in Coimbatore, which was actively recruiting youngsters and planning attacks in TN and Kerala.

Official sources have told Express that the module’s online activities had followers from Sri Lanka and India. It was managing an FB page titled ‘Khilafah GFX’ which was widely followed by IS sympathisers in both countries.

The persons arraigned as accused are: Mohammed Azharuddin, Azharuddin T, Sheik Hidyathullah, Aboobacker M, Sadham Hussain and Ibrahim Shahin.

Colombo (AsiaNews) – The St Anthony’s Shrine in Kochchikade, near Colombo, one of the three churches attacked on Easter Sunday, reopened to the public today following a blessing last night and a Mass this morning.

During both services, which Card Malcolm Ranjith, archbishop of Colombo, led, the faithful rejoiced at going back to the place of worship after almost two months, conscious of the losses, the 54 people who were killed.

For the prelate, those who died in the attacks are saints. We will remember them every day. We will not forget their loved ones. Every cent we collect will go for their welfare of these families.”

The 21 April massacres in three churches and three luxury hotels in the capital left 257 people dead and over 600 wounded. Although the Islamic State group claimed responsibility, the government believes the National Thowheed Jamath group, a Sri Lankan group, was involved.

Since then, some observers have noted some connection between government and Islamic radicalism, which has existed on the island for years but was mostly ignored for electoral reasons.

The Sri Lanka Navy carried out the repair work at the shrine after cordoning it off and stabilising the damaged building. As of today, the church will be open from 6 am to 8 pm.

“There is nothing more valuable than a human life,” said Card Ranjith in last night’s blessing. Therefore no one has the right to snatch away another’s life. Every human life is equally valuable.

We completely reject the use of human life to achieve political goals. There is no place in heaven for those who carried out the attacks. They will only go to hell,” he added.

Among religious leaders, the cardinal is one of the government’s harshest critics over its handling of the attacks.  Last night he complained again that survivors, the wounded and victims’ families live in confusion.

The country needs honest political leaders,” he insisted. Politicians who have a backbone, who do no wrong deeds and who do not safeguard those who do wrong deeds,” who take steps to punish those among them who do wrong. It is the duty of political leaders to do their duty to create a just society.”

Zahran Hashim, the Sri Lankan mastermind of the April 21 Easter attacks in Sri Lanka, has emerged as a common link in at least three Islamic State (IS) related cases, including the latest IS module busted in Coimbatore, an National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe has revealed.

An NIA official said there were could be more members” associated with the Coimbatore module, which had links with a similar module in Kerala. The agency had found that Ibrahim Shah, one of the five suspects detained on on June 12, was close to Riyas Abubacker of the Kerala module, which had planned to conduct terror attacks there.

Examinations and searches will continue till the agency identifies all members of the module,” said the official.

The NIA said so far no explosives had been during searches at the house and office of Muhammed Azharudheen, the ‘Facebook friend’ of Zahran Hashim, who was arrested on June 12 in Coimbatore. Five other suspects from the city are still being questioned.

Under surveillance

An official said Azharudheen, who ran a travel company, had been under surveillance for several months. He earlier ran a computer graphics shop.

He was produced before the NIA special court in Kochi on Thursday. The five other suspects — Akram Sindhaa, Y. Shiek Hidayathullah, Abubacker M., Sadham Hussain and Ibrahim Shah — were also taken to Kochi.ALSO READCoimbatore man held for ties with Sri Lanka Easter attack mastermind

NIA said the accused were propagating the ideology of the Islamic State and were recruiting vulnerable youth to carry out terrorist attacks in South India, particularly in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Hashim, leader of the National Thowheed Jamaath in Sri Lanka was one of the suicide bombers in the Easter attacks. The IS claimed responsibility for the attacks and subsequently released an image of eight suspected bombers, with Hashim seen standing at the centre with the IS flag in the background.

This was the first time we came across Hashim’s name. We extracted Hashim’s speeches during forensic analysis of the phone of a suspect, Shamsuddin. He told us that he and another accused were deeply influenced by Hashim’s videos and were closely following him,” said the official.

The FIR registered by NIA then said, A group of seven persons from different parts of Tamil Nadu formed a terrorist gang with allegiance to IS and had entered into a criminal conspiracy to kill some Hindu leaders of Coimbatore, thereby threatening the communal harmony besides the security and sovereignty of India.”

The second case directly involving Hashim is that of Palakkad resident — Riyaz Abubacker, who was arrested 10 days after the Easter attacks for planning to carry out a suicide attack in Kerala. The official said Abubacker also followed Hashim’s inflammatory speeches. Abubacker was in regular touch with Ibrahim Shah, one of the suspects in the Coimbatore module, said NIA.

NIA sleuths have collected details of persons who have travelled abroad through Azharudheen’s travel agency. Details of those travelled abroad through the agency and those returned have been collected during the raid at the office,” said a source.

However, a person associated with the travel agency claimed that it was offering only Umrah packages to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

History of religious extremism

NIA investigations found that Akram Sindhaa was attracted to extremist ideologies a few years ago and was involved in the murder of rationalist H. Farook, a functionary of Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam, in 2017.

Farook was hacked to death by a six-member group including Sindhaa in March 2017 allegedly after he shared rationalistic posts in social media platforms. Farook had also posted a photo of his daughter holding a poster which said ‘there is no god’ following which he was hacked to death.

Sources privy to the investigations said that Sindhaa joined other members of the IS-inspired Coimbatore module after he was granted bail in Farook murder case.

Three booked under UAPA

Coimbatore City Police City police on June 13 registered a case against three persons for propagating IS ideologies in social media platforms and allegedly planning to conduct terror attacks in the city.

Mohammed Hussain from Ukkdam, A. Shajahan from Anbu Nagar and Sheik Safiullah from Karumbukkadai were booked under various provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, said a release issued by the police.

The release said that they were supporters of Zahran Hashim and praised the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka.

The police searched the houses of the trio and seized mobile phones, SIM cards, hard disks, documents of bank accounts, pen drives, memory cards and other incriminating documents.

A senior officer of the city police said that the three suspects were being interrogated and their arrests were not recorded.

Meanwhile, a special NIA court in Kochi remanded the prime accused Mohammed Azharudden for 14 days.

COIMBATORE: A case under sections 18, 38, 39 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967 was registered against Mohammed Hussain and A. Shahjahan of Ukkadam and Sheik Safiullah of Karambakkudi at the D3 Podanur police station here, based on information that the trio are staunch supporters of ISIS and involved in propagating the ideologies of ISIS on social media. Reports also brought to light that the three men are supporters of Zahran Hashim and praised his bomb blasts in Sri Lanka. According to a tip-off, it is learnt that the three had conspired to stage terror attacks in the textile city also.

In a search that was conducted in the homes of the three men, officials confiscated mobile phones, SIM cards, computer hard disks, bank account documents, pen drives, memory cards and other incriminating documents. Officials are intensely interrogating the three about the incriminating materials seized during the search.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday continued the raids for the second day in connection with the ISIS Kerala-Tamil Nadu module case, sources told DC.

Meanwhile, a special NIA court in Kochi remanded the prime accused Mohammed Azharudden for 14 days. NIA officials arrested Mohammed Azharudeen on Wednesday for having contact with Srilankan bomb blast masters mind through social media and for involving in ISIS recruitment in Kerala and Tamil Nadu borders. Meanwhile, Interrogation will continue with other five who were picked on Wednesday for enquiry.
