Former Chairman of the Securities Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) Dr Nalaka Godahewa says that the country is heading towards a grave danger due to unsuccessful financial administration.

He says that within the country’s political history of 67 years after independence,  the highest economic growth has been recorded within the past 9 years.

The two major problems which had existed in the country, namely the 30-year long war and the economy received solution during the rule of Mahinda Rajapaksa, he told reporters at a press conference today.

However, he says that the country’s economy has completely collapsed within the past 6 months and that all development activities have come to a halt.  Dr Godahewa also claims that this has resulted in a situation where the country is not receiving long-term investments.

MAKE NO MISTAKE … If the UNP wins, the ABOVE SCENARIO of DIVISION of Sri Lanka into a PATCHWORK of Ethno-Religious Bantustans will be INEVITABLE within the FIRST TERM of government by the UNPatriotic Party!

That is DEFINITELY, beyond a SHADOW OF DOUBT, what is AT STAKE in this General Election!

The Million dollar Question : Why is the Yahapalanaya chief, Pres Sirisena, allowing PM Ranil to keep on Arjun Mahendran as Governor of the Central Bank with Lanka Treasury headed by Paskaralingam of Pres Premadasa’s time.
Alternately, why doesn’t the President remove Arjun Mahnedran himself ? Surely he must have powers to do so ?

By bringing down the country financially, who are the Yahap folk trying to please ?
    (tick of right answer/answers)

    1. Ex-Colonists
    2. Churches
    3. Minorities who may slice up the country
