Incumbent Russian leader Vladimir Putin is set to secure a resounding victory in the Russian presidential election, according to partial results made public by the electoral commission.

Vladimir Putin is now leading with 75.50 percent of the vote, well above the simple majority needed to avoid a run-off.

First-time Communist Party candidate Pavel Grudinin is running second with 13.28 percent, while veteran nationalist politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who first ran against Boris Yeltsin in 1991, rounds out the top three with about six percent.

None of the other five candidates is on track to receive more than two percent of the vote.

The early results are in line with exit-polls conducted by Russian polling agencies FOM, which predicted Putin would take 77 percent of the vote, and VCIOM, which forecast a final share of 73.9 percent for the current president.

Ella Pamfilova, head of the Russian Central Election Commission, has said that there were no major violations during the vote, and that only minor and local complaints” were received.

Shortly after the first results were announced, Vladimir Putin addressed his supporters at a massive anniversary rally in Moscow’s Red Square, marking Crimea’s reunification with Russia, and talked to reporters in his election campaign HQ. He thanked his backers and answered questions on the hottest political issues.

Putin was first elected to the Kremlin in 2000, and again four years later. Constitutionally barred from serving more than two consecutive terms, he did not run in 2008, the same year presidential terms were extended from four years to six years. Putin won 63.6 percent of the vote in 2012, and, if the early results are confirmed, he will now stay in his post until 2024, the year he turns 72.

Russian Decision: Have an EFFECTIVE President in Vladimir Putin? …. KEEP HIM & ADORE HIM.

Chinese Decision: Have an EFFECTIVE President in Xi Jinping? …. REMOVE TERM LIMITS; Let him RULE FOR LIFE!

Sri Lankan Decision: Have an EFFECTIVE War-Winning Nation-Reunifyng President in Mahinda RAjapaksa? ….. REMOVE HIM & HOUND HI*M to Death!

The difference between these PEOPLES is that we Sri Lankans are CONGENITAL IDIOTS without either a MEMORY or a sense of GRATITUDE! WE RICHLY EARN what WE SUFFER!

Excellent decision by Russian people. However, what is most striking is that at least 94% of votes have gone to anti-western politicians. All above three top vote getters are anti-western whether they are nationalist or communist. This is why Russia is blessed – blessed with questioning voters.

Under Putin, Russia’s net external wealth increased, military bases increased and global influence enhanced. It is a disgrace to compare Putin’s great achievements with any Sri Lankan politician. Some of them sold the army headquarters, ports and airports to China and India and indebted the nation badly!

As I expected and desired, Mr. Putin has been re-elected for another 4 year terms. The Western nations attempts to demonize him with all kinds of media propaganda, just proved to help to boost his image in his own country and in fact, with the exception of the western nations, and maybe some Arab nations, I believe all the other developing countries would see Mr. Putin’s win as a very good thing to keep the Western nations, especially the US and the west controlled UN’s often biased resolutions in check.

He is a Champion Leader so he deserves it for another 6 years. Good for the whole world.

For Putin to do well, they did not have a 30 year old destructive war. Although people were in poverty, Russia had a big wealth of Oil reserves and earned a lot from that revenue despite major companies looted some of the profits. They did not need foreign investors to come and invest in Russia.

For us, we needed investors but no one was coming. Although I don’t agree with selling of the Army HQ land to Shangrila in order to bring them to SL to boost the confidence of other investors, it could have given on a 99 year lease. But with that action however, the mood changed and the MR government did not sell anything else. Selling a piece of real estate is different to a selling a profitable government entity, which Yahaps are doing. Additionally we were getting new real-estate to the Country from the Port city project.

We needed the Indian’s support to finish the war. Because of that we had to hang on to the 13A as I can read it from the way Gota and Wimal were keeping quiet on that. Now if Rajapaksa’s come to power again, they do not need to listen to India because the regime change project was done by the India & the West, which should end whatever the agreement Rajapaksa’s had previously with India.

Now if they come to power they should get rid of this PC system and with that money, they can maintain a couple of large international level Universities, giving more places for our kids and also as a FC earning entity.

At least to stand next to Putin, we only have patriot leaders in MR and GOTA. They should get their plans right and work for better homemade solutions leaving Indian Colonial Parasites at bay.

But it worries me to see MR still going to Thirupathy. Will he ever not listen to Indian Colonial Parasite’s knowing they have a hidden agenda? If he needs a divine help, go to our own Katharagama which is equally powerful. It seems the same clan are still advising MR on these matters even after two defeats in 2015.

We should remind him that Putin did not go to Thirupathy.

“We should remind him that Putin did not go to Thirupathy.”

    LOL!

ALL SL politicians that went to Thirupathy LOST subsequent elections.

  6. Vaisrawana Says:

Hope the Americans won’t attempt a regime change in Russia.

  7. Lorenzo Says:

According to BABA VANGA’s prediction in 1979 Putin will rule the world.

NO ONE will be able to stop Putin and his country and he will lay waste to Europe if it fights him.

  8. Samanthi Says:

Well said, Ananda. I totally agree with you!
