I feel sorry for MR. He trusted his family members and got them down to work for him. See what happened?. They all have betrayed him very badly.
MR should come down to grass root level then start again.

At one stage, I was strongly advocating that he should never have called this election, but continued his balance period of Presidency and clear the “MESS” in his administration. But now I realize why he did not do it. With the information that is coming out and the number of complaints already presented to the “Bribery Commission”, it would not have been within his capacity to clear the “Mess” he himself has created. In a way, it is good for the country to have got this election to take the country on a “different course”. The JHU and the JVP have already taken steps to complain and collect further evidence by way of public participation. In this regard JHU has set up an organization and a separate office with telephone, fax and e mail connections to submit information. A dedicated team of personnel, including some professionals are already at work. This organization held a media conference and detailed out the plan of action. As things are, it is not going to be that “Easy” for MR’s administration to come clear anymore and in the days and months to come, we will get to know much better.

This “business” of “Samurdhi Bank” was discussed at the time of the Budget of 1915 and some of the information that the JVP Leader spelled out in his debate was alarming. I myself saw the event at which my village temple was involved in handing over of Rs.2000.00 to the “Samurdhi” recipients by Samurdhi officers jest a few days before the election. The recipients were also told that they would continue get this “hand out” on a monthly basis. I was stunned and got flabbergasted over hearing this assurance and was utterly dismayed as to how the relevant “Authorities” were acting in contravention of all laws and even morale standards. It was disgusting to see how the most “Innocent People” are being duped and made to believe in things that were unreal.

With all the above and many, many more “unethical” actions formed by the MR’s regimes” cronies, I am happy that “HE” lost. Now the task is to bring all those “bastards” to book and punish them in accordance with the laws of the country. We will campaign vigorously for that and make all these “cronies” answerable and accountable”. Let that be a WARNING to the “present lot” too.

My guess is that all these people have been in it. If not how can a large scale fraud like this go unnoticed and I think nobody complained. The Samurdi Bill and the impeachment of Shirani and all that has been well planned by Basil and them for this election and they were cock sure about winning it. So, it now emerges that the last election was the biggest fraud ever and a large segment of Sinhala voters themselves are corrupt. Thanks to minorities they were able to change the government.

The saying ” Best laid plans of mice and men often go awry”, which was coined more than two hundred years ago, is very true.

Where is our good friend Ananda-USA , the unconditional lover ?

Who cares 1.4 billion ? people can walk on the streets without fearing bombs. – Ma-hinda CHintanaya.

  5. Lorenzo Says:

    Nanda,

    Everlasting love!

But I lost a GOOD FRIEND. He is a patriot. No question about that. Only problem is he was FIXATED in MR when MR SL.

Which leader will go to THIRUPATHY HINDU KOVIL when 90% of his voters are BUDDHISTS and 90% HINDUS plan to vote for his OPPONENT!

Among commentators, ONLY ME, you and Mario OBJECTIVELY (without love or hate) predicted MR’s defeat. We were called terrorists!! Remember?

When I said I MOST DISLIKED (to say the least) BR and NR, people laughed at me. Now what?

When D-BS-Jeyaraj started throwing mud at DAHAM SIRISENA I said this is a game BOUND to lose because those in glasshouses should NOT throw stones. NEVER listened. That triggered My3 to counter attack. OMG! What a counter attack that SINKED MR.

The moral of the story, next time LISTEN to humble Lorenzo no matter how STUPID, DUMB, FOREIGN and IDIOTIC he may sound.

BTW where is my friend Raj?

  6. Nanda Says:

    Lorenzo,
We must be compassionate for his ignorance. He will come back better, shredding his attachment when he really see the results of investigations.
BTW the coup attaempt by Maha Raja shall be investigated ( just bring all to one place and ask and video record and publish), simple as that. That will completely destroy political life of this evil man and more importantly the ignorance of millions of people

  7. Independent Says:

    Dear Lorenzo,

You member I joined in this forum after long time since the departure of my shadow commentator Nanda, because I felt there should be someone else to support you. Now he/she is back I will cease to exist again.

Bye for now and hope the new president will handle all these well. Ratana Thero, Champika and Anura are there to guide anyway.

Theruwan Saranai to all. Please do Maithree to even the enemy !

  8. Lorenzo Says:

    Independent,

    Thank you for the support.

I’m sure your work will become neeeded in the future.

  9. Vimutti Says:

Bribery and corruption are bad, but excessive focus on these things to the detriment of the main concerns of Sri Lankans – cost of living, jobs, security – will result in a lot more suffering for the Sri Lankan people.

Plant the right crops in the best soil and harvest them when they are ripe, and then pick-out the weeds with whatever time you have left over. If all we are doing is picking weeds, when harvest time comes around there will be no food.

  10. aloy Says:

Why use a single cheque leaf for such a massive amount. They should have loaded the ruck straight from the treasury. Where is my good friend PBJ who sent me many letters from his ministry?.

  11. Nanda Says:

But those who follow Mahindagama will say,
    1. Killing is OK
    2. Stealing is OK
    3. Sexual misconduct is OK
    4. Lying is OK
    5. Alcohol is OK as long as you don’t give ealam. This is how Mahindagama has brain washed people.

  12. Nanda Says:

Excessive focus on five precepts will not do ANY harm to the country Sri Lanka or ANY country.

  13. Vimutti Says:

    >>>Nanda Says:

If you think Buddhism is only about Sila and the 5 precepts, you are just as ignorant as Champika of the JHU.

Buddhism is primarily concerned with alleviating human suffering associated with living in samsara. Period.

Start reading the Pali suttas (20,000 of them) and start learning what the Buddha actually taught and why, and stop following anyone with a microphone or robe who has obviously not studied the Pali suttas for themselves.

If human suffering abounds in Sri Lanka because the government is focused on a 'corruption witch-hunt' rather than delivering on the concerns of most Sri Lankans – Cost of Living, Jobs, and Security – then the government will not be around very long. We can have all Saints in the government who don't have a clue on how to REDUCE the cost of living, INCREASE job creation, and MAINTAIN security, and Sri Lanka becomes a basket case and a failed dependent state run by the US and the EU. How 'Buddhist' is that?

  14. Lorenzo Says:

    Vimutti,

Offenders must be punished. No need to bo too harsh but some punishment is needed.

This person is a classic crook. He withdrew 1.4 billion rupees on Jan 6, converted them into $11 million and escaped to USA on Jan 11.

How can poor SL forgive this crook? This is the money to be given to poor people.

To deter such crimes, we have to give them the traditional SL punishment for grave national crimes.

  15. Nanda Says:

Did I say “Buddhism is only about Sila and the 5 precepts” ? Don’t try to be a politician. I did not say so and all your words followed that will become invalid.

Buddhism is Sila, Samadhi , Pagnna. Without Sila , nothing can be accomplished.

It is also applied to a government, in which case it should start from “yaha palanaya” (which essentially will be SILA for the government). Catch and punish all wrong doers, not as a revenge but as a discipline. This means even the president’s brother, if found guilty of assault , should be punished.

Make no mistake, I don’t follow Mahindagama or My3agama. I don’t love individuals. I will be the first to criticise until my name is black marked as before.

  16. Vimutti Says:

Law enforcement should function ALL of the time, not just when it is politically convenient.

Good luck recovering 11 million, but if you lose 3-4 BILLION in Chinese investment because of Ranil’s deal with the Americans, Sri Lanka will suffer GREATLY.

Always keep your eye on the ball and who you are trying to guard against, and not get distracted by fans shouting obscenities or throwing soft drinks onto the court. Otherwise you will get DUNKED ON! (this is a basketball saying) and lose the game.

  17. Nanda Says:

Corruption will occur but cannot sustain if the TOP is pure.
If ANYONE says Mahinda is not corrupt but others around him do, then after 9 years , since it sustained and increase exponentially, <TOP IS CORRUPT.

  18. Nanda Says:

    Vimutti,
Agreed, except your assumption “because of Ranil’s deal with the Americans”. I can’t comment on that and I don’t want to defend Ruin-ill.
But evenif he is a Angulimala, give him a chance rather than the known latest Chora Raja and we will see how.

  19. Lorenzo Says:

    Vimutti,

DUNKED ON! Isn’t that what happened to MR propagandists?

We have to punish someone. IF NR is in SL he should face the law for his excesses. My3 should come to a deal with MR. MR gives up the SLFP and govt. will not arrest NR.

  20. Nanda Says:

    Lorenzo,
    I don’t approve such deals.

Put him in jail , MR’s friendship will be Paapamitta ( bad friendship). My3 does not need that.

  21. Lorenzo Says:

Remember what MR did to Danuna, Daham and even Danuna’s grandmother was arrested. SF was arrested for no reason and send to prison. 14 army officers were demoted and sacked for not supporting MR.

Senior ministers were treated VERY BADLY.

Remember My3 CRIED before leaving the party? Who caused this misery to SO many people?

He should be given a taste of his OWN medicine.

  22. Lorenzo Says:

    Nanda,

In politics you have to do the RIGHT thing by the COUNTRY not religion, etc.

  23. Vimutti Says:

    >>>Lorenzo Says:
    January 13th, 2015 at 11:06 pm<<<

Punishing your enemies and rewarding your friends is NOT 'good governance', and is just politics-as-usual that you can find all over the world.

If Maithripala authorizes a CID investigation into his OWN actions as Health minister, or Ranil's actions when he was Prime Minister before, or Chandrika's actions when she was President, then I would begin to take his 'good governance' talk seriously. But until he does THAT, he is just another phony politician trying to use the corruption issue for political gain.

  24. Vimutti Says:

    >>>Nanda Says:
    January 13th, 2015 at 11:06 pm<<<

Ranil has already had TWO chances, and has struck out both times by letting the Americans do whatever they want in Sri Lanka.

We have no reason to believe that the THIRD time will be any different.

  25. Christie Says:

First of all we need Monetary control of the nation. No country will allow such a withdrawal within its administration specially when the government is in the election mode to find a new head.

What I see is fighting among the Sinhalese the cause majority with a minority complex like in other Indian colonies. Jai Hind

  26. Christie Says:

Definitely there is a lot wrong with government controls. How on earth one person is allowed to withdraw such an amount? Then convert to US$. No wonder we got corruption. Jai Hind

  27. Vimutti Says:

My3 should come to a deal with MR. MR gives up the SLFP and govt. will not arrest NR.<<<

What kind of 'good governance' is that?

No, arrest NR and punish him just like Maithripala's son SHOULD HAVE been punished for aggravated assault and brandishing a firearm until Maithripala intervened with the police with his so-called 'good governance'.

SLFP will never belong to Maithripala unless he wins it with a REAL election in April or whenever he decides to dissolve Parliament. SLFP will be ready this time, not counting on any Tamil, Muslim, or Christian votes, and UNITING the Buddhist vote just like the minorities did on January 8th. Maithripala will then have to start taking orders from MR as the new Prime Minister and from a new Parliament controlled by MR.

  28. aloy Says:

Some people appear to be still dreaming of MR’s plan C. Maithree is definitely much more smarter and sharp than he appears. Otherwise he would not have been able to toppled MR.
The most important thing is we must not get involved in the game of superpowers. It happened 500 years ago when the west pushed China to its boundaries using their superior naval capabilities and then ruled the world unchallenged. We got involved during cold war and got battered for thirty long years. Now China has become more or less equal and we should not get involved in their game (elephant’s fight). I think we should observe from a vantage point (perhaps siripada) what is going on in the Indian ocean for supremacy.
