The Elections Department sources said the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) national list was signed and sent by  Susil Premjayanth, the secretary of United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA).

He has approved the list with his signature and authenticated with his official seal as the Secretary General of the United People’s Freedom Alliance.

This list has been accepted by the Elections Commissioner.

Meanwhile Former Ministers Kumara Welgama, Pavithra Wanniarachchi and S.M. Chandrasena have been removed from the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Executive Council (EC). What I don’t really understand is when Sirisena’s goons are acting as bulls in the china shop what other central committee members are doing? All these actions are against the constitution of the party. Why can’t they get help from the judiciary to sort it out?.

    NeelaMahaYoda,

On 30 June 2006 we dug a BIG hole for CBK to fall in by changing the SLFP party constitution making the president of the country (if from SLFP) the president of the party.

Until then the party president was ELECTED by he majority of party registered members.

Now we are paying for it.

Maru Sira has COMPLETELY gone INSANE now. I see only ONE solution to save the SLFP and SL from his LUNACY.

NMY,That is a big puzzle. At the moment no legel action can be taken as courts are on holidays but Susil Premajayanth had ample time after the first court order preventing the EC from meeting.Yet it was not to be.
It was obvious that Sirisena had to prevent the meeting to avoid being thrown out of the party and Susil obliged.
    Why?
But the best is yet to come. Lets wait and see. Soon when Ranil begins his usual style of rule Sirisena will find that his National government has been hijacked and he has only the UPFA to turn to. Or better still, if Ranil seeks assistance from the opposition UPFA against Sirisena the real works begin.

    NMY,

According to the constitution as was before the 19th A was ratified, the president’s actions could not be contested in a court of law.

However now, i.e. post 19th A, I believe that there is some provision for bringing an FR violations petition in the SC if such had occurred as a result of president’s actions. I am not sure of the details; on the other hand I could be wrong in this case because anybody could be removed from their positions as a result of disciplinary action.

However, even then the disciplinary procedure ought to be followed. Then again, we saw how the new CJ and PM were appointed after the PE by the new president. The procedure detailed in the constitution was not followed; the view of the SLBA (Sri Lanka Bar Association) that the position of CJ was void at the time was implemented by presidential decree.

That was possible not because it is correct but because it could not be challenged.

I believe that the aggrieved party(ies) could take action when considered appropriate. That need not be even legal action, e.g. if a large number of UPFA members were to vote against the ‘national government’ the president as the chairman of both the SLFP and the UPFA would be obliged to expel them en mass.

That would leave a rump of the SLFP and UPFA with him.

However, in my view that would not be followed; instead inducements would be made to keep them in the fold and we could witness the govt. enlarging to a size comparable to what was under the previous president.

    NMY,
This is the Mahinda Chintanaya continuing as MY3 Palanaya.

  6. NeelaMahaYoda Says:

Looks like Susil Premjayanth has crossed over to Sirisena group. (පැදුරටත් නොකියා පැනගිහින්)

What a strange world? Betrayal, Treachery and Duplicity are the basic laws of politics in Sri Lanka

  7. Fran Diaz Says:

Isn’t most of the Judiciary also with MY3 lot ?
The new chief Justice and Attorney General have been appointed by MY3.

    Failing Democracies ?

  8. NeelaMahaYoda Says:

When compared to UNP National List, My3 list is the most undemocratic and corrupt. MR should work more closely with Ranil than My3-Chandrika. All bad apples are now flocking towards Sirisena with ChauraReygina (queen of Deceptions) sitting next to him.

  9. Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

FRAN !! THE ATTORNEY GENERAL CAME IN DURING MAHINDAS PRESIDENCY. DEFINITE.

  10. asoka2468 Says:

Time will solve all these problems for Mahinda. I would give these idiots 1 year to create such a big mess in the country that the entire country will cry and beg Mahinda to take control.
When I say the entire country I exclude the tamils. They belong somewhere else where the sun don’t shine.

  11. Fran Diaz Says:

    Susantha,

Indeed you are right. Attorney Genneral, Justice Wanasundera is from MRs time. MY3 changed the Chief Justice.

  12. Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

FRAN !! THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IS YUWANJANA WANASUNDERA WIJEYATILLEKE. HIS FATHER IS JUSTICE S.R.WIJEYATILLEKE. JUSTICE S.R. WIJEYATILLEKES WIFE’S BROTHER IS JUSTICE RAJA WANASUNDERE. I have a reason to know them so well.

  13. Kumari Says:

What is happening in our beautiful country is no more within the hands of us. The three blind mice who are providing leadership (MS/RW/CBK) are dancing according to the Pide Piper. Unfortunately, the country has become an extension of the Indian Empire.

This is why the stupid Sinhalese majority should have stood with Mahinda no matter what. They chose the foreign paid media with fabricated evidence.

  14. Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

    KUMARI !! MOONU POTTA ELI.

How about the three wise Monkeys:-Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil.

  15. SA Kumar Says:

When I say the entire country I exclude the tamils. They belong somewhere else where the sun don’t shine.- you mean TE ?
