Buddhist war – I
This war is not winnable” black-whites’ theory lasted for over 30 years. Supporters of it marched in Colombo streets, with lotus flowers in hand, demoralizing soldiers will. According to Erick Solheim, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was the only top-level person in the government to say, this war is winnable.” Yes, there was contribution from some Tamils, Muslims and Christians, but It was the poor Sinhala Buddhist village boys and girls who finished the 33-year war, with Gotabhaya at the helm. Credit goes to Mahinda R for appointing him for the mission, who in turn utilized Sarath F for the job. In 2005, MR won with a razor-thin margin because of the Sinhala Buddhist (and poor Catholic) vote, and the oxygen for a mindset to fight to the end was provided by monks and key Sinhala Buddhist leaders. For example, Ven. Elle Gunawansa did everything at the war front except taking a gun to his hands. For soldier in all different forces it was a noble task of saving the motherland. Yet, after the war victory, after enormous sacrifice, unfortunately, mismanagement with a black-white mentality crept in; thus, the end of one war paved the way for a beginning of a new paper and pen war. Prabakaran was named a Tamil Keppettipola by Wigneswaran who has two Sinhala daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Citing four Tamil history professors, W says that the king Devanampiya Tissa was a Tamil king.
Buddhist war – II
Civil mismanagement of Sri Lanka by black-whites from 1931 or from 1948 commenced again after May 19, 2009, after 3 short years of war management. The gun as a good tool was replaced by pen as a bad tool. When Tamils were calling MR, a Maha Raja, he forgot that the purpose of the use of gun was to rescue the country from mismanagement. His first act after kissing the soil at the airport tarmac should have been to abolish 13-A by a presidential proclamation. The land commission appointed in 1987 by JRJ recommended in 1990 to replace the 9-province artificial division of the island with river basin boundaries. This plus a Jana Sabha system to empower people freeing them from politicians’ grip was the non-black-white, non-Christian path. The new paradigm. Instead, he ate a Ban Ki Moon and Manmohan Singh dead-rope. And, Sri Lanka thus entered the Buddhist war II, this 13-A war is not winnable” war. With UNP deploying hardcore old Marxists to do the dirty federal job, a second Nandikadal looks beyond reach. But this black-whites’ war, must be defeated, this time by a new Buddhist war, reminiscent of the 1873 Great Panadura Vaadaya.
The local govt….
Jana Sabhas or local government units that existed prior to 1978 are re-demarcated with river basin boundaries, will solve the issue of meaningful power devolution issue and will be a window to eradicate ethical and moral decline in the society, if members for them are elected on a non-partisan basis. Why Buddhists kill?
The phrase, Buddhist war, is used as an explanation to Navaguna Vala” (rosary beads) Buddhists, identified in the song by Nanda Malini. Christian Tamil Stanley Tambiah invented this theory of Buddhists betraying Buddhism to provide cover to anti-Buddhist activities in Sri Lanka. His supporters such as H. L. Seneviratna and Gananatha Obeysekara propagated this theory in the western world via their books replete with half-truths. The truth that Sinhala Buddhists are not even 0.001 of the 8 billion-world full of Muslim and Christian (and Tamil separatist) threat, got buried under this theory. It is this theory that is playing a major role in attacking and jailing socially active Buddhist monks as criminals. Tambiah knew very well that King Dharmashoka doctrine did not save Buddhism in India, and Buddhism cannot survive in a hostile world by preaching loving kindness to death. Monks behaving stupidly as crook politicians’ cat’s paw must be separated from the Buddha Sasanaya. I challenged Tambiah by email, on the falsity of his theory, but neither he nor H L Seneviratna responded.
New questions-new answers
The two Buddhist wars were a result of asking wrong questions by Buddhist and non-Buddhist black-white politicians. Or they got new answers to the old questions. Instead, we need to ask new questions. Surprisingly, even the dedicated, rapidly growing, Sinhala Buddhist newer and younger leadership is still not asking new questions. Really speaking, they do not even have to ask questions, because they already have two new answers (solutions) before them. (1) In 1990, one answer was given by a land commission appointed by JRJ, a prisoner of Rajiv-Dixit 13-A debacle, to remove the 9-province artificial division by re-demarcating regions based on river basins. (2) Since 1932-48, there was a socio-economic-political-spatial solution applied so successfully by the late Ven. Kalukondayave Pragnasekara Mahanayaka Thero, the crime control and village reconstruction national movement with active participation of Muslims and Tamils. A modern version of this model, the Gami Diriya program was implemented successfully during 2005-10, without political interference. Both programs of 1932 and 2005 were sabotaged by black-white officers and politicians.
The Gami Diriya program was supposed to be introduced to Jaffna area. The dedicated director general left for a UN job to implement a similar idea in another poor country. I met him and witnessed his disgust and anger against corrupt politicians. A divi naguma monster is now sitting on the country. Ammunition to win the 13-A war is there, if the emerging new leadership get rid of black-white residues among them and educate the voter, Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and Christian. In the past, Sinhala Urumaya lost its mission because of enemies within. These two answers (solutions) must be taken directly to people, piercing the TNA separatist barrier. A Jana Sabha run by ‘lower caste’ Tamil groups is anathema to Sumanthiran, Sampanthan and Wigenswarans. Tamil householders do not ask police or land powers or a merger of N & E. They do not care if Devanampiya Tissa was a Tamil or a Greek. For the next war, an Election manifesto with these solutions as election pledges must be distributed island-wide. An Action Committee of about 20-30 (shadow cabinet?) covering all key organizations against 13-A, should develop a program of action guided by the Asgiri Karaka Sabhava and other Nikaya Sabhas. The 2002 Buddhist commission report is also important in this regard.
Local Government Report
In 1999, the report of the commission of inquiry on local government reforms (Abhayawardena Report), recommended going back to the old local government system with ward-based elections, abolishing the pradesheeya sabha thuggery. If this old local government system is rejuvenated with natural boundaries the concept of devolution and empowerment could be implemented through them. It is not the best like a GSN-level Jana Sabha system in identifying more minority-empowering natural units, but still better than a province-based unit which only create a local politician clique, exploiting Tamil ethnic cows. Providing spatial bases for Tamil identity or Tamil aspirations on this scale is the real Buddhist Middle Path because Dayan’s middle path instill fear in the Sinhala mind for known reasons. For example, SJVC then talked about a Tamil homeland. Now in 2017, Wigneswaran talks about Tamils as the original race in the island and Tamil Buddhists reverting to Hinduism after a short break in history. Whether this is truth, myth or delusion, it does not matter. But this kind of mindset does not support the conciliation (unity) by division philosophy of either Dayan’s or Jayampathy’s or the 225-strong joke called the parliament.
Euro-centric Black-whites
Tamilness in Sri Lanka became problematic in Ceylon first in the years, 1918-1923. It began with the Ponnambalam brothers realizing that soon they were going to lose the leadership role in Ceylon with the ever expanding ‘threat’ of more and more voters! After the Olcott phenomenon that began in 1880, and the Buddhist-Islam riot in 1915, Buddhist monks lost their socio-political clout to nobodies who became new somebodies. Therefore, the conflict arising out of Tamilness in Ceylon became a petty, Christian conflict between Sinhala and Tamil black-white elites. The so-called freedom fight was a fight for a foothold on the white ruling ladder for some government jobs. Freedom as removal of white man’s anti-Sinhala Buddhist laws enacted since 1815 was never a concern until the 1956 Buddhist commission Report. It was Hitler who helped to get the freedom by petition.
Buddhist Middle Path of reasonableness had no role in the Sinhala-Tamil black-white conflict in the 1930s or 1940s. One reason for this could be that the white masters managing and manipulating the drama knew discrimination with reason is not in conflict with rules of Buddhism. No two persons are the same but they deserve equal opportunity. The other reason simply was that non-Buddhist black-whites did not wish to change the status quo. We know that in 1958 the reasonable use of Tamil language Bill was opposed by black-whites led by JRJ and Dudley with a march to Kandy stopped at Imbulgoda by S D Bandaranayaka.
Whether we like it or not, we cannot deny the fact that PMs and Presidents of Ceylon/Sri Lanka acted as unreasonable, non-Buddhist black-whites in handing the Tamil separatist issue. Only exception perhaps was SWRD, but even he got confused mixing language issue with land issue. Giving land powers to politicians asking a homeland was suicidal and this was why Ven. Baddegama Wimalawansa opposed his pact with SJVC. Dudley went all the way allowing a Tamil in anywhere in the country a priority claim to land in N&E over a Sinhalaya living in the neighborhood where parcels of land was to be distributed.
While the idea of moving the capital from Colombo to Anuradhapura appeared several times in the 1950s, lack of knowledge, wisdom or education could be understood as the reason for not thinking the unsuitability of the artificial 9-province division originated in 1832. CCS officers, Peradeniya professors and politicians in the 1950s all ignored this basic issue. The geography professor who should have been the researcher in this regard was silent despite land utilization projects done in England since 1940s by geography professors in London. Peradeniya was full of Tamil teachers, and no doubt they did not want to talk about this after the Federal Party floated the Tamil homeland myth based on 9-province division. So, I found one solitary research paper by the geography professor, K. Kularatnam, on the topic of Tamil influence on place names of Sinhala towns in the south!
Those who created 1972 or 1978 private/partisan constitutions did not think of the two answers mentioned above, despite the fact that the environmental concerns raised at the UNO level were invading Sri Lanka by that time. I say this because, I prepared the first UN-instigated environmental management law report for Sri Lanka at that time as an officer of the then National Science Council. At least after 1990 when a land commission report recommended re-demarcation of the island based on river basins, black-white regimes in power since then ignored it. R Premadasa who increased 4,000 GSN units to a mind-boggling 14,000 must be considered an idiot, just like JRJ moved the capital to a marshy land just 10 miles from the Colombo city old reclaimed marshy land. Which was more important, a bogus Buddhist ministry or a genuine concern for the protection of Sri Lanka? Paskaralingam who was so close to RP in secretly providing arms to tigers, who left the country secretly under unusual circumstances, the day after RP was killed, did not show RP the 1990 land commission recommendation. JRJ wanted a just society and RP built more stupas than any king lived in the island! From such madness the country fell into a period of package deals by CBK aimed at balkanization of the island using the 9-province Colebrooke division with an open plan to create a monoethnic Tamil region. It is in this historical context one ought to digest the gravity of MahindaR’s failure to abolish 13-A, by a proclamation at the end of the war.
‘You cannot legislate against geography’
Why 13-A is a death trap is a topic that has generated volumes of material. For our purposes now, suffice it to state that as long as 13-A is part of our law, the country will not be safe from Eelam separatism. Prabakaran rejected it then and TNA rejects it now unless it becomes a new 13-A plus. This is where 13-A step-father Dayan Jayatilaka comes to the scene. Born as a Christian, this well-read Euro-centric Marxist is becoming increasingly a Buddhist literatus as the single locomotive pulling the 13-A burden. He is actually better than the other Marxist Jayampathi Wickremaratna at this game. Dayan presents a Buddhist 13-A. 13-A with a remerged N & E is Tamil extremism; opposition to his full (police+land) 13-A with de-merged N & E is Sinhala extremism. He has not read the Ummagga Jathakaya, so this latter arrangement is the Aristotle’s mean! The war killed Prabakaran as well as 13-A theory. Tamil people will not benefit from 13-A. They benefit if they are empowered, removing Tamil politician manipulating them, just like Sinhala politicians manipulating Sinhalayas.
On the 13-A war, surprisingly, not a single Sinhala politician says it could be defeated. Wimal Weerawansa or Udaya Gammanpila does not speak against it anymore. Public interest lawyer, Nagananda Kodituawkku is the only person who said publicly that he will abolish this 13-A death trap, if he wins the next presidential election in 2020. This 13-A war is not winnable,” theory is now 30 years old, and Jayampathi, the old Marxist of CBK’s package deal fame is beyond the 13-A stage. He is talking about a new setup. His new constitution will create a more unitary” Sri Lanka than it is now. But, CBK boasts that Jayampathi’s constitution is exactly what she presented during 1995-2000. She is correct, because Jayampathy’s more unitary than the 1978 thing has clauses to prevent separation. Why do you want such clauses unless his more unitary thing has things prone to or susceptible to division/secession? CBK’s thing was a change from unitary to federal. Jayampathy created a divided-CBK path. And, after doing that, he says he has introduced several provisions as road blocks or brakes (safeguards) to prevent (or slow down?) the likes of Wigneswaran taking that path! The question is how can you unite by dividing?
This war is not winnable crowd has become the new this 13-A war is not winnable crowd. Their game plan is clear. They put the unitary and foremost place to Buddhism words as baits while hiding the disastrous western-manufactured non-majoritarian traps based on race, language and religion, planted all over their new constitution to guarantee the certain death of the only piece of real estate available to Sinhala Buddhists. Jayampathi’s American sponsored multi-prone propaganda machine is so well-oiled that his latest client is the single elephant (no karaka sabha) Malwatte Mahanayaka. This is a foreign-designed grand plan, a counter force created to derail the Asgiriya Karaka Sabha efforts.
LLRC in the past could not avoid mentioning the phrase Jana Sabha. Even the APRC majority report of Tissa Vitharana praised the Jana Sabha concept. Therefore, Jayampathy could not help, but mention Jana Sabha in his federal-prone scheme. But, the role given to them is that of advising the local pradeshiya sabha, which is a collection of local political crooks. This is an insult to that noble, democratic, consensual Buddhistic concept.
While Jayampathi is still talking about Tamil moderates, Dayan no longer takes that path. He selected the Buddhist middle path that he really does not know. Buddhist Middle Path has eight elements, other than an Aristotle mean to meet the territorial psyche etched in some Tamil separatist about a Tamil homeland as Dayan repeats. A holistic perspective is needed. When TNA is demanding a merger of N & E, Dayan’s plan goes out of the window. But he has other plans too. English language newspapers and the Colombo Telegraph website repeat, his middle path 13-A will save Sri Lanka from a future Indian-US naval blockade. He brings Fidel Castro’s wisdom to dismiss the only dissenting view printed by an English language newspaper, retired geography professor G H Peiris’, not knowing that Cuba had the services of loyal spies in USA. The best example was Miss Ana Belen Montes who as a key officer in the US Defence Intelligence Agency supplied Castro everything US was planning against Cuba for 16 years. She did it not for money but because of her desire to help victimized Cuban people. Her principles were such that when she found she was under surveillance, she did not want to escape to Cuba. It was this kind of heroism we saw with the Hasalaka hero.
Buddhist paradigm vs. Black-white paradigm
Not only Buddhist monks had no say in legislative matters, Buddhist laymen had no representation in the Legislative Council for a long time. When Anagarika Dharmapala tried to work with the Ceylon National Congress, he soon realized it was not possible. His socio-economic developmental ideas received no recognition, instead everybody under the colonial system worked in collusion to get rid of him. This crowd included new somebodies such as D S Senanayaka, and even D. B. Jayatilaka. Dharmapala follower, Ven. Kalukondayave Pragnasekara floated a national crime eradication and rural reconstruction program with Justice Akbar and ASP Osmond de Silva, which became a successful model during 1932-1948, which he wanted to expand to cover all administrative districts in the island, but white and black-white establishment sabotaged it.
It is this model that we must use to replace 13-A, along with the idea of replacing the artificial 9-province division with river basin regions recommended by the 1990 land commission report. This is the Buddhist paradigm, which will end the 13-A war defeating Lal Wijenayaka’s and Jayampathis thus, putting the American and Indian plans on logs. I doubt if the late Ven. Soma knew about the 1990 land commission report or the Kalukondayave model. The LLRC, most probably did not know about this land commission report. BBS did not utilize them. Before the flag or the name of the country, people must be provided with an agenda that meets their day to day wants and needs. People who are struggling to feed the family, school for children, medicine etc. will not worry about Halal meet or Wahabism until, one fine day in the near future, ISIS gunners enter their homes. It is the duty of the Sinhala Buddhist leaders to give leadership to these people. Some educated men suggest creating a new 10th province covering the sea coast, instead of taking the shortest path readily available for the welfare of the people at grassroot level.

The black-white argument of 13-A-anchored expansion of power sharing is based on the need of Tamils to achieve their national aspirations. Aspirations come naturally in a homeland, and the Tamil homeland is Tamil Nad. How many homelands a nation could afford to possess in this world? Was it not the rule, one homeland plus equality of personal opportunity outside it? Black-whites are deliberately blind to the ground truth that for the TNA leaders power sharing means full autonomy and the Kosovo path sooner or later. Under an environmental, geography-based solution, there will be plenty of room for Tamil aspirations within a number of fairly large territories, without making Sinhalayas nervous about exceeding reasonable aspirational limits. Yalpanam region will be almost Tamil, but not mono-Tamil. The crocodile tears of Devanesan Nesiah from Australia that India will never allow an Eelam in Sri Lanka, thus contradicting DayanJ is simply Eelam propaganda in disguise. Does he not believe that Trinco harbor with a friendly Tamil TNA politician clique in Jaffna is an irresistible pricy catch for American dollars. The world knows how Modi was not given visa to enter U.S. as a chief minister, but received repeated personal invitation from the president after became PM.
Of all the Euro-centric black-whites, Dayan is unique because he could poison Gotabhaya’s mind into accepting his line of 13-A middle path. If the Eliya project does not consider the solutions proposed in this essay- 1933 Kalukondayave model, 1990 land commission recommendation plus the 1999 local government report- what is in store for the people after opposing the Jayampathy scheme? The Eliya group should establish links with the Asgiriya Karaka Sabha. The country knows constitutional gymnastics of other black-whites aimed at delivering a document to the satisfaction of USA, India and UNHCR. If they are successful in that task, this 13-A is not winnable war will go on until the next presidential election or the one after that. That is until America and India decide to divide the country because without foreign military support an Eelam cannot survive. Only path this could be avoided is the Buddhist reasonableness path guided by the monks. Just like in the past, militant Buddhism, disciplined, non-violent and informed, is the only answer to a country ruined by politicians.

These last named do not understand that nowhere on this planet outside of a purely Sinhala Buddhist conclave (and a predominantly middle aged male one, I might add), is it possible to persuade anyone with a narrative that says there will no territorial provincial autonomy whatsoever granted as a reformist addressing of the Tamil question. Such an unreasonable, eccentric, isolationist narrative only makes the case for separatism and activates it as a default option.”
Who si asking for a “Sinhala Buddhist Conclave” (= Pamamnkada) in “Tamil Homeland” (=Alimankada) ?
What we are asking is to remove conceeding Alimankada to terrorist.
Sinhala-Tamil marriage will never work in a Tamil Homeland , we are sking it to be neutralized back to pre 1987. It can easily be done if we take out all the previllages (including yearly travel to USA) enjoyed by Sinhala politicians.

මේ වනවිට ඊලම් සංවිධාන 14 ක නියෝජිතයන් ශ්රී ලංකාවට එරෙහිව සාවද්ය චෝදනා එල්ලකිරීම සඳහා ලියාපදිංචි වී තිබුණි.
ප්රංශයේ සිට ක්රියාත්මක වන භාරති සංවිධානය පට්ටපල් බොරුවක් පවසමින් 2009 දී ශ්රී ලංකා හමුදාවට 146000 ක ද්රවිඩයන් සංඛ්යාවක් ඝාතනය කළ බව කීවේය.
එහෙත් 146000 ක් මැරුවා නම් මැරුම් කෑ අයගේ සිරුරු වළ දැමුවේ කොහේදැයි විමසීමට අපේ තානාපති කාර්යාලයේ කිසිවෙක් මාහට හිමිකම් සමුළුවේ සිටියේ නැත.
අනතුරුව අප්රිකානු ජාත්යන්තර සහයෝගිතා සංවිධාන නියෝජිතයාgenewa4 සමුළුව අමතමින් මානව හිමිකම් ක්රියාකාරීන් ආරක්ෂා කිරීමට මානව හිමිකම් කවුන්සිලය ක්රියාකළ යුතු බව පැවැසීය.
ප්රංශයේ සිට ක්රියාත්මකව ඊලම් සිසු සංවිධානයද පැවසුවේ වසර 2 ක් ගතවී ඇතත් යුක්තිය ඉටුවී නැති බවත් ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ජාති සංහාර රජය සමඟ හමුදා ගිවිසුම් ඇතිකර ගැනීමට බටහිර රටවල් ක්රියාකර ඇති බවය.
කොටි ඩයස්පෝරාවට සම්බන්ධ ලේ පොන්ට් රාජ්ය නොවන සංවිධානය ශ්රී ලංකාවේ හමුදාවට සම්බන්ධ කණ්ඩායමක් මානව හිමිකම් සමුළුවට පැමිණ ඇති බවත් ඔවුන් තර්ජනය සහ හිරිහැර කිරීම් සිදුකරන බවටත් බොරු චෝදනාවක් එල්ල කළේය.
තමිල් උසගම් සංවිධාන නියෝජිතයා ශ්රී ලංකා නාවික හමුදාව ඉන්දීය ධීවරයන් 578 ක් වෙඩිතබා මරාදමා ඇති බවටද චෝදනා නැගීය.
“2011 අප්රේල් 2 දා ද්රවිඩ ධීවරයන් සිව්දෙනකු කෑලිවලට කපා මුහුදට දැමීමට නාවික හමුදාව ක්රියාකළා. ද්රවිඩයන්ට සිදුකරන හිරිහැර නිසා 100000 පමණ ඊලම් ද්රවිඩයන් තමිල්නාඩුවට පැමිණියා යයි තමිල් උද?ගම් සංවිධානය කියාසිටියේය.
ඒ. බී. සී. ටැමිල් ඔලි නැමැති සංවිධානය තවත් සාවද්ය ප්රකාශයක් කරමින් ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ද්රවිඩයන් වෙනස්කම් වලට ලක්වන බවත් ද්රවිඩ ඉඩම් වලින් හමුදාව ඉවත්කළ යුතු බව පලකළේය.
අනාජා නැමැති සංවිධානයද පැවසුවේ ශ්රී ලංකාවේ රජය ද්රවිඩ ළමුන් සමූල ඝාතනය කළ බවත් ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ද්රවිඩයන් සඳහා ස්වයංපාලනය ලබාදීමට මානව හිමිකම් කවුන්සිලය ක්රියාකළ යුතු බවයි.
ඉන්පසු අපට අසන්නට ලැබුනේ ලොව විපතට පත්වූවන්ගේ සංවිධානය නැමැති රාජ්ය නොවන සංවිධානයේ නියෝජිතයාගේ ප්රකාශයයි.

ප්රංශයේ සිට ක්රියාත්මක වන ප්රංශ ද්රවිඩ සංගමය 1945 වසරේ සිට ශ්රී ලංකා හමුදාව ද්රවිඩ ප්රදේශවල සිටින බවත් ද්රවිඩ සිවිල්වැසියන් චෝදනා රහිතව රඳවාගෙන සිටින බවට එල්ල කෙරුණි.
තෙන්ඩ්රාල් නමින් හඳුන්වාගත් සංවිධානය ශ්රී ලංකාවේ උතුරු නැගෙනහිර හමුදාවෙන් පිරීඇති බවත් හමුදා මූලස්ථාන පහක් ඇත්තේ එකී ප්රදේශවල බව සඳහන් කළේය.
ප්රංශයේ ටුවර්නර් ඡේ සංවිධානය කොටි සටන්කාමීන් පරාජය වීම නිසා ද්රවිඩ ජනතාව වෙනස්කම්වලට ලක්වී ඇති බවට පවසනු ලැබීය.
මෙම ඊලම්වාදී සංවිධාන එකාපසුපස එකා මෙන් චෝදනා නගද්දී පිළිතුරුදීමේ හිමිකම ඇති ශ්රී ලංකාවේ කිසිදු රාජ්ය නිලධාරියෙක් කවුන්සිලයේ සිටියේ නැත. එසේම සැප්තැම්බර් 27 දා කවුන්සිලයේදී විවාදය ඇතිවූ අවස්ථාවේ 146000 ක් ද්රවිඩයන් ඝාතනය වූ බවට ප්රකාශවූවත් ශ්රී ලංකා රජය නිහඬ විය.
ඉන්පසු සැප්තැම්බර් 28 දා වයිකෝ තක්කඩියා 125000 ක් ද්රවිඩයන් සමූල ඝාතනය කළ බවට චෝදනා කරද්දීත් ශ්රී ලංකාවෙන් කිසිදු ප්රතිචාරයක් නොවුනි.
මේ හැර පසුගිය සැප්තැම්බර් 15 සිට 27 දක්වා කාලය තුළ කොටි ඩයස්පෝරාව සමාන්තර රැස්වීම් අටක් පැවැත්වීමට ක්රියාකළහ.
ශ්රී ලංකා රජය ත්රස්ත මර්දනය නාමයෙන් ද්රවිඩ මානව හිමිකම් ක්රියාකාරීන් මර්දනය කරන බවට පැවැත්වූ සමාන්තර රැස්වීමේදී හඬ නැගුවේ ප්රභාකරන්ගේ මස්සිනාවූ එම්. කේ. සිවාජිලිංගම්, වැල්ලවත්තේ සීඑච්ආර්ඩී සංවිධානයේ අරුල්වතානා සුන්දර්රාඡ් නැමැත්තියයි.
සැප්තැම්බර් 18 දා දහවල් 12 ට තවදුරටත් ක්රියාත්මක වන ද්රවිඩ සංහාරය නැමැති තේමාව යටතේවූ රැස්වීමට කොටි දේශපාලන නායක තමිල් සෙල්වන්ගේ බිරියවූ සසිරේකා පැමිණියාය.
ඇගේ පැමිණීම අපි විශේෂයෙන් හෙළිකළෙමු. ඇයට මානව හිමිකම් කවුන්සලයට කැඳවාගෙන ආවේ ප්රංශයේ මරියදාස් බොස්කෝයි.
කොළඹ ආමර්වීදියේ බාබර් සාප්පුවක සේවය කළ පරමුතමිල් සෙල්වම්ගේ බිරිය සසිරේකාව අපි හඳුනාගත්තෙමු.
සසිරේනා නැමැත්තිය මානව හිමිකම් සමුළුවට සහභාගිවූයේ වයිකෝ – අරුල්වතාන් සුන්දරරාජන් – යාපනයේ නීතිවේදියකු බව කියන කනගරත්නම් සුගාස් සමගය.
හමුදාව බාරයේ සිටියදී තමා අසහනකාරීව සිටි නිසා ශ්රී ලංකා රජයට පක්ෂව ප්රකාශයක් කළ බව සසිරේනා කීවාය. එහෙත් ඇය මාදෙස බැලුවේ තැතිගත් ස්වභාවයකිනි.
2009 වන්නි මෙහෙයුමෙන් පසු හමුදාව නිදහස් කළ සසිරේකා ප්රංශයට ගියාය. ඇය ශ්රී ලංකාවට එරෙහිව වසර අටකට පසු ප්රකාශයක් කළේ මන්දැයි කිසිවෙකුත් විමසුවේ නැත.
අනතුරුව මුහුදු කොටි නායක සුසෙයිගේ බිරිය සත්යදේවි නැමැත්තියද හමුදාවට චෝදනා කළාය. ඇය දරුවන් සමඟ බෝට්ටුවකින් පලායන අවස්ථාවේ නාවික හමුදාවට අසුවිය. සත්යදේවිය කිසිදු හිරිහැරයකට ලක්වූයේ නැත.

සැප්තැම්බර් 19 දා සවස 5 ට මානව හිමිකම් කවුන්සිලය තුළ තවත් සමාන්තර රැස්වීමක් පවත්වනු ලැබීය.
එය මෙහෙයවූයේ කොටි ජාත්යන්තර ජාලයේ 11 වැනිදා ලෙස ක්රියාකළ පී කිරාබාහරන් හෙවත් හිඟන කිරුබා සහ ඔහුගේ බිරියවූ ඩියඩර් මැක්කොවල් නැමැත්තියයි.
සැප්තැම්බර් 19 දා සවස 3 ට විපතට පත්වූවන්ගේ හිමිකම් පැහැරගැනීම මුවාවෙන් පැවැති සමාන්තර රැස්වීමද වයිකෝගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් පැවැත්වුණි. ඊට ගජෙන්ද්රකුමාර් පොන්නම්බලම්, යාපනයේ කනගරත්නම් සුභාෂ් වැල්ලවත්තේ ඇරල්වතානා සුන්දරාඡ් සහභාගිවී ශ්රී ලංකාවට එරෙහිව පට්ටපල් බොරු ප්රකාශ කළහ.
ඉන්පසු සැප්තැම්බර් 20 දා ජාති සංහාර රාජ්යය මැයෙන් උතුරේ දේවගැති ජෙයබාලන් කෘස්ගේ මෙහෙයවීමෙන් පැවැති රැස්වීමේ කථිකයන් වූයේද වයිකෝ – ප්රභාෂ් සහ අරුල්වතානායි.
සැප්තැම්බර් 21 දා සවස 3 ට කවුන්සිල ශාලාවක පැවැත්වූ රැස්වීමේ ප්රධාන කථිකයා වූයේ කොටි හිතවාදී ඉන්දීය මහාචාර්ය පෝල් නිව්මන්ය. ඒ සඳහා තමිල්නාඩුවේ සිට රාධ ක්රිෂ්ණන් ගාන්ධි, පොන්නයියා පිල්ලේ චන්ද්රන් සහ චිත්රපට ශිල්පියකු බව පවසන වඩවාලයි ගම්නන්ද සහභාගි වූහ.
මෙවන් පසුබිමක් මැද සැප්තැම්බර් 22 දා සවස 3 ට පැවැති රැස්වීමේදී තමිල්නාඩුවේ වයිකෝ නැමැත්තා රටවල් 6 ක් දෙකඩ කර වෙනත් රටවල් පිහිටුවිය යුතුබව කියාසිටියේය.
ඒ අනුව ශ්රී ලංකාව, පාකිස්තානය, තුර්කිය, ඉරාකය, මොරොක්කෝව සහ ඊශ්රායලය වෙන්කර ස්වයංපාලන අයිතිය යුතුබව වයිකෝ හඬ නැගීය.
එහෙත් මානව හිමිකම් සමුළුව වෙත රටවල් දෙකඩ කිරීමේ ඉල්ලීම් ඉදිරිපත් කළ හැකිද?
සැප්තැම්බර් 27 දා සුද්දන් පස්දෙනෙක් ශ්රී ලංකාවේ මානව හිමිකම් යනුවෙන් සමාන්තර රැස්වීමක පැවැත්වූහ.
ඊලම්වාදීන් සමඟ ගැවසෙන ඩේවිඩ් වෙහෙලි එම රැස්වීමේ කැඳවුම්කරුයි. ශ්රී ලංකාවේ නායකයන් මගේ අතිජාත මිත්රයන් – මට ඕනෑම දෙයක් නුඹට කළ හැකියි යයි වරක් පැවසුවේ වෙහෙලියි.
එහෙත් මෙවර වෙහෙලි මානව හිමිකම් කවුන්සිලය ශාලාවක් අසලදී මා අමතමින් ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ඩයස්පෝරාව පරදවමින් තමිල්නාඩු ඩයස්පෝරාව ඉදිරිපිට පැමිණ ඇති බව කියා සිටියේය.
ඩේවිඩ් වෙහෙලිගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් පැවැති එම රැස්වීමේදී ද්රවිඩයන් සඳහා වූ බ්රිතාන්ය සර්ව පාක්ෂික පාර්ලිමේන්තු කණ්ඩායමේ මන්ත්රී පෝල් ස්කලි ශ්රී ලංකාවට තර්ජනයක් කළේය.
ජිනීවා යෝජනාව මුළුමනින්ම ක්රියාත්මක නොකළහොත් 2019 දී ශ්රී ලංකාව එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ආරක්ෂක මණ්ඩලයට යොමුකරන බවට ඔහු වහසිබස් දෙයි.
රිචඩ් ගෝවින්, අන්තෝනියෝ බෙන්විලට්, යුමස් බට්චි නැමැති සුද්දන් තිදෙනා සිටින තමිල්නාඩු හිටපු මන්ත්රී ගනේශ්කුමාර්ද මේ ශ්රී ලංකා විරෝධි රැස්වීමට සහභාගි වූහ.
මොවුන්ට ජිනීවා ඒමට අරමුදල් සපයා තිබුණේ තමිල්නාඩුවේ පසුතායි නායගම් බ්රිතාන්ය ද්රවිඩ සංසදය සහ ඇමරිකානු ද්රවිඩ දේශපාලන කමිටුව නැමැති කොටි හිතවාදී සංවිධානයි.
මෙලෙස කොටි ඩයස්පෝරාව සහ තමිල්නාඩු කොටිහිතවාදීහු නවදිනක් තිස්සේ වයිකෝ ලවා මානව හිමිකම් සමුළුව ඉදිරියේ බොරු චෝදනා එල්ල කරමින් සමාන්තර රැස්වීමක් පවත්වද්දී ගෝලීය ශ්රී ලාංකික සංසදය සමාන්තර රැස්වීම් දෙකක් පවත්වමින් වයිකෝ ඇතුළු ඊලම්වාදීන්ට නිසි ප්රතිචාර දැක්වීමට ක්රියාකළේය.

ඊට ප්රතිචාර දැක්වූ ගෝලීය ශ්රී ලංකා සංසදයයේ ඊශ්රායල් නියෝජිත ජනෙත් විමල වැල්ලවත්ත ද්රවිඩ රාජ්යයේ දේශසීමාවට අයත්දැයි ප්රශ්න කළේය.
මෙම රැස්වීමට පැමිණසිටි ඊලම්වාදීන්ගේ හිතවතාවූ ඩේවිඩ් වෙහෙලි හිටපු හමුදාපති සරත්ෆොන්සේකා තවත් හමුදාපතිවරයකු යුද අපරාධ සිදුකර ඇති බව පිළිගෙන ඇති බවත් තමිල් සෙල්වම්ගේ බිරිය එදා රජයට පක්ෂව ප්රකාශ කළේ බලපෑම් යටතේ බව දැන් පවසන බවද ප්රශ්න කළේය.
එම ප්රශ්නයට ප්රතිචාර දැක්වූ ආචාර්ය නාලක ගොඩහේවා මහතා වෙහෙලි මානව හිමිකම් ගැන කතා කරන්නේ ඩයස්පෝරාව ගෙවන මුදල් නිසායෑයි පැවසීමෙන් ඔහු අසරණ තත්ත්වයට පත්විය.
රියර් අද්මිරාල් සරත් වීරසේකර වෙහෙලිගේ ප්රශ්නයට ප්රතිචාර දක්වමින් සරත්ෆොන්සේකා දේශපාලන වාසියට කතා කරන නිසා ඔහුගේ ප්රකාශ වැදගැම්මක් නැති බව කීවේය.
මෙහිදී හිටපු විශේෂ කාර්ය බළකා නිලධාරියකුවූ ජනෙත් විමල සංගමන්කන්දේදී කොටි පොලිස් භටයන් 600 ක් ඝාතනය කරන විට නුඹලා කොහේ සිටියේ දැයි තිරුචොට්ටිගෙන් සහ තවත් ඊලම්වාදියකුවූ යුදාහරන්ගෙන් ප්රශ්න කළේය. මෙම රැස්වීමේදී නීතිඥ සුqවන් බෙල්ලන්තුඩුව විමර්ශන වාර්තාවක් ඉදිරිපත් කළේය.
මේ අතර සැප්තැම්බර් 28 දා දහල් ගෝලීය ශ්රී සංසදයේ නියෝජිත රියර් අද්මිරාල් සරත් වීරසේකර මානව හිමිකම් සමුළුව අමතමින් වයිකෝට නිසි ප්රතිචාර දක්වද්දී ඔහු ශාලාවේ අසුන්ගෙන සිටියේය.
රියර් අද්මිරාල්වරයා මානව හිමිකම් සමුළුව අමතමින් මෙලෙස පැවැසීමෙන් වයිකෝගේ මුහුණ රතුවිය.
“ත්රස්තවාදීන්ට වසර 30 ක් යුද්දෙන් කර ගැනීමට නොහැකිවූ දේ බෙදුම්වාදීන් අද ඔබ වෙතින් ඉටුකරගැනීමට හදනවා. එල්. ටී. ටී. ඊ හිතවාදී ද්රවිඩ පිරිස් සහ කුලියටගත් තමිල්නාඩු දේශපාලනඥයන්ගේ පට්ටපල් බොරුවලට මෙම සමුළුව යටවන්නේ නැතැයි අපි සිතනවා. ලොව කිසිම හමුදාවක් තුන්ලක්ෂයක් මිනිසුන් බේරාගෙන බෙදුම්වාදී යුද්ධය ජයගෙන නැත. එහෙත් අවාසනාවන්ත ලෙස බෙදුම්වාදී දෙමළ ඩයස්පෝරාව සතුටු කිරීමට වත්මන් රජය ජිනීවා යෝජනාවට සම අනුග්රහය දක්වා තිබෙනව බව එම අග්රගණ්ය වන අපේ රට දරුණු ලෙස පාවාදී තිබෙනවා.
මේ අතර වයිකෝ විසින් මානව හිමිකම් සමුළුවට කැඳවාගෙන ආ තමිල්නාඩු ඊලම් මාධ්යවේදින් දෙදෙනා ලවා ඔහු තමිල්නාඩුවේ මාධ්යවෙත තවත් බොරුවක් ප්රචාරය කළේය.
ඒ මානව හිමිකම් කවුන්සිලයේදී තමාව හිටපු හමුදා නිලධාරීන් පිරිසක් වටකරගෙන හිරුහැර කළ බවයි.
වයිකෝගේ සහයකයන් සහ එන් ජී ඕ ක්රියාකාරින්ද මානව හිමිකම් කොමසාරිස් සෙයිද් රාද් හුසේන්ට පැමිණිල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් කරනු ලැබීය.
මේ තමිල්නාඩු තක්කඩි දේශපාලනඥයාගේ බොරුවට රැවටුනු තමිල්නාඩු විපක්ෂ නායක ස්ටාලින්ද වයිකෝට සිංහලයන් පිරිසක් පහරදීමට උත්සාහ කළ බව චෝදනා කළේය.
මෙවර 36 වැනි ජිනීවා සමුළුවේදී කුවේටයේ සිට පැමිණි මාරි විලියම්ස් ස්විස්ටර්ලන්තයේ නිර්මලා ලියනපටබැදි, එරික් මාකවිට සහ ජිනදාස ඊශ්රායලයේ ජනෙත් විමල සහ ආරාධිතයන් ලෙස ශ්රී ලංකාවේ අනුරාධ යහම්පත්, නාලක ගොඩහේවා මානව හිමිකම් සමුළුව ඇමැතීය.
මේ පසුබිම මැද ජිනීවා එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ කාර්යාලය ඉදිරියේ කොටි ඩයස්පෝරාව ශ්රී ලංකාව යුද අපරාධ සිදුකළ බව දක්වමින් ඡායාරූප ප්රදර්ශනයක් පවත්වනු ලැබීය.
එම ඡායාරූප ප්රදර්ශනයට හිටපු හමුදාපති සරත්ෆොන්සේකාගේ ඡායාරූපයද ඇතුලත්වූ අතර කොටි ඔහුටද යුද අපරාධ චෝදනා එල්ල කර තිබුණි.

Dr C. Wijewickrema, thank you for this forward looking essay. It holds out some hope for the future in these rapidly darkening times when the Sri Lankan masses, particularly the majority community, have been effectively disenfranchised and legitimate opposition to misrule violently repressed. The 13A was inflicted by India on this Sinhalese Buddhist majority country in 1987 and JR acquiesced under duress. Cowardly bully India has always been breathing down Sri Lanka’s neck ever since, influencing its handling of the separatist terrorism of its (India’s) own making, to the latter’s detriment. Your 13A abolition proposal and your suggestion that the Jana Sabha or local government system that you say operated until 1978 be restored are sound. It could be a historical irony that the political environment that would be ideally conducive to the practical adoption of such ideas is emerging now, despite the general gloom cast by the foreign sponsored separatist menace.
However, regarding the feasibility of doing away with the 13A soon after the defeat of terrorism in 2009 I have a different view from yours, Dr Wijewickrema. He was not in a position to risk jeopardizing the hard won war victory by supplying a powerful ready made electoral weapon to his internal challengers, in addition antagonizing India. There was probably another more important reason for his cautious hesitancy/total inaction in this matter. The astute politician that MR always is had realized that he was ‘internationally ’more vulnerable at that point in time as he had, in the critical national interest, acted in defiance of the dictates of the West headed by America that didn’t want the LTTE defeated because of its usefulness to them as a destabilizing agent in the island that is strategically important for their geopolitical schemes in the region. The American policy in any context is determined by their national interest or what they unashamedly call ‘American interest’. (But if we talk about our national interest we are condemned as racists, fanatics, etc.)The Americans do not allow a ruling national leader they consider a threat to the American interest while being potentially subject to their power to continue in office. They either oust such leaders through scheming or get rid of them through manipulated legal imprisonment (Panama) or secret assassination (Venezuela). Famous American social activist and renowned public intellectual Noam Chomsky has often spoken and written about this diabolical ruse adopted by America in its foreign relations domain. As he says, when the leader they want to target is a good popular leader, they contrive to concoct false allegations against him or her. They did this in the case of MR. Even if he had proved himself to be perfect as a ruler, the hostile Americans would not have left him alone. While being aware of this, what MR wanted to do was to develop the North and East economically and win the hearts and minds of the people, and eventually convince them of the uselessness of the 13A. But that won’t have served American interests, nor the regional interests of the lowly parasitic Indians. So, MR was doomed. The tragedy is that the people he served so loyally, betrayed him at the elections helping his foreign engineered ouster.
As far as I can see, there is no party or person today that can lead the ‘emerging leadership’ that Dr Wijewickrema is talking about other than MR or a grouping under his aegis to face off successfully the worst and gravest existential crisis that the Lankan state has ever been confronted with in its 2600 year recorded history. I am not a personality cultist, this is how I see it.

This 13A war is unwinnable. This must be looked at in the context of the “this war is unwinnable” mentality that existed until July 2006. But unlike that easy war, this (13A) war (which is the real war) is unwinnable.
Sinhalese must reject all (emphasised) politicians who are unwilling to abrogate 13A even if it means the less patriotic candidate’s easy victory in 2019. That will pave the way for a true patriotic leader to emerge in 2024 and reverse 13A. As we saw with the war, it can be won with any delay if there is the will. Once a true patriotic leader comes, all wrongs can be reversed. No point electing a symbolic patriotic leader in 2019 only to lead Ranil/Ravi win in 2024 while keeping 13A.
Dayan has removed his gloves now. He is now desperate to support 13+ plan of the government. All this terrifying constitutional proposals are only to terrorise the people and settle for 13+.
I urge all to listen to Dayan’s speech made to the JO recently. It can be found in his Facebook page. A long speech but it clearly spells out where he stands. In that he clearly says Mahinda in 2011 came to a position which was to negotiate the concurrent list of 13A (Ninth Schedule) at the very house the meeting was held recently. Dayan says this is the new middle ground. This is exactly what this government is planning to do. Negotiating the concurrent list can go only one way – the LTTE/TNA way! Any fool understands that.
The horrors don’t end there. NFF and PJHU have been reduced to non-entities within the JO after this new “middle path” approach and the SLPP leader’s Jaffna appeasement strategy. NFF and PJHU are obstacles to this program.

This war is winnable only at the 2019 election.
We only need to select ANY candidate who supports killing of dreaded Palaath Sabha, ther is no need of talking about a 13A. Right approach will be to build a support base to this noble cause. No names, no parties no worries.
When the support base grows and when it becomes substantial all the Ali Babas will support it too.
Whoever wins, 13A will be gone. After the monster No#2 is gone in 2009, monster #1 will be gone in 2019, 10 years not too bad.
That is my dream.

Would INDIA have ever allowed the MR Govt to remove the 13-A ?
Remember the things INDIA has done in Sri Lanka ?
* Imposed the ILLEGAL 13-A on the ultra pro-west JRJ govt in 1987 (Cold War time).
* Trained the LTTE in Tamil Nadu
* It was the LTTE that killed off the UNP top layer and other able VIPs too, mostly Oxford Uni educated leaders such as Lalith, Gamini, plus Pres Premadasa
The LTTE was made in INDIA 13-A is INDIA’s way of splitting up Sri Lanka and controlling Sri Lanka to suit INDIAN Security, Economy etc.
Even after the war with the LTTE finished, ONLY the UN can tell INDIA that the ILLEGAL 13-A must be removed.
Re MR’s role :
After the war with the LTTE finished, there was NO foreign support from any quarter for the MR Govt to remove the ILLEGAL 13-A.
In fact, the EU removed the GSP+, purchase of fish from Sri Lanka etc to show their apparent disapproval for actions in Sri Lanka !
If anyone knows of any foreign support to REMOVE the ILLEGAL 13-A, please let us know.
As world matters are, Sri Lanka cannot move a whisker without UN support to do so.
INDIA must know this !
In the end, if Eelam forms, it is to INDIA’s detriment, as earlier breakaway Tamil Nadu will take over any Eelam formed.
Also, Tamil Nadu & INDIAN culture will prevail and the re-imposition of CASTE will take place in any Eelam formed.
Do Sri Lanka Tamils want CASTE re-imposed on them ?
They flee INDIA to Lanka (and form Eelam for a permanent escape route) to escape CASTE on their birth certs & Census done in INDIA through CASTE.

One more important thing INDIA did in Sri Lanka during the JRJ govt time (Cold War times) :
* Recall the trumped up 1983 Riots – the whole thing was a pre-arranged matter to enable Tamils of Sri Lanka to go abroad in vast numbers as REFUGEES, close to a one MILLION in number ! No other way to go abroad to the west, only as Refugees could they go west. These people went west and their leaders formed the Tamil Diaspora
J.N. Dixit, a Chennai born Catholic person, was the INDIAN Envoy in Sri Lanka during that time. He was called the Vice-Roy of Sri Lanka. Our people knew this man and his methods ! JRJ was cornered and was kept silent for a number of days when the Riots broke out. Curfew was declared only after a number of days after Riots broke out. The Police and the Armed Forces were called out too late to contain the initial Rioting which had aleady taken its toll, killing some 200-300 Tamils, burning Tamil business places and homes, etc. Even some 50 Sinhala people lost their lives.
J.N.Dixit died of a heart attack a few days after the Tsunami struck in end of Dec 2004. The Tsunami carried away P’karan & Pottu Amman who were in a church near the sea at that time. Also, the Tsunami destroyed most of the Sea Tiger boat fleet.
All these events go to show just how much INDIA pushed and pummelled Lanka in those days. The aftermath still remains in the form the 13-A. High time it was removed and Democracy, and sovereignity restored to Sri Lanka.
Make Lanka whole, peaceful and progressive again !

Nullifying 13A by a presidential declaration (and parliamentary or judicial action thereafter) makes sense. Possibly even the commentator may not know why it is such a clever and legally valid statement.
This is because the 13A commitment was made by presidents on July 29, 1987 and on May 21, 2009 to India and on May 23, 2009 and May 27, 2009 to the UN and UNHRC respectively. The other is to abolish executive presidency. In that case presidential commitments become frustrated.
This is why the biggest supporters of 13A want to keep executive presidency. They know 13A commitment collapses automatically when the executive presidency goes.
However, later, either the parliament must vote out 13A or the judiciary must declare its forceful imposition invalid. This is the easy part.
Senerath is right about India not wanting Sri Lanka win the war. If you read the news during the war, you can clearly see India didn’t want us win the war. We went against India to win the war. Mahinda couldn’t remove 13A because of India is a lame and idiotic excuse especially when he went against India to win the presidential election in 2005 and 2010, and, defeat LTTE militarily. If he didn’t want to antagonise India, he should not have won the 2005 presidential election when Nirupama Rao make it obvious India wanted ‘dove’ Ranil to win and ‘hawk’ Mahinda to lose. These funny terms were used by Indians. Praising India when beneficial and blaming India when not beneficial is political opportunism.
Those who fear India (and western conspiracies) and keep 13A and those who love India (and western conspiracies) and keep 13A are the same.

By the time MR went in to take on the LTTE in 2009 for the final war, the LTTE had diminished themselves in the eyes of INDIA as out of control and untrustworthy re INDIA.
Reasons :
* The LTTE, during Pres Premadasa’s time, had gone and attacked the IPKF in the North and killed many. Pres Premadasa armed the LTTE for that purpose. The IPKF withdrew from the North.
* Next, an LTTE suicide bomber killed INDIAN PM, Rajiv Gandhi.
After these two negative events against INDIA by the LTTE, quite naturally the LTTE lost INDIAN support.
MR had a fairly clear ok from INDIA to go ahead with the war against the LTTE.
However, David Milliband (Min of Foreign Affairs, UK) & and the then PM of France, went and met MR to dissuade him to stop the final push against the LTTE. Fortunately for us all, they did not prevail.
After the war with the LTTE finished, there were hurrahs for the MR govt from almost every part of the world.
However, an year or so later, for reasons best known to themselves, the EU imposed some sanctions on Lanka (the GSP+ was removed, and purchase of fish from Lanka removed too).
The UNHRC also geared up their so called War Crimes call against Lanka Armed Forces.
“Regime Change” time for Lanka had begun !
We do not think the time was right for MR to do any removal of the 13-A.
This is the ideal time for our “all powerful” Exec PM to show some Patriotism and get the 13-A removed via the UN & IDU. It may actually suit INDIA if this is done at this stage ?
After all, the Exec PM is Lanka’s Representative, (as leader of the UNP), in the Int Democratic Union.
And Yahap has received some praise for “going in the right direction” re Reconciliation etc.

Jayatilleka is credited with shielding Sri Lanka from censure by the UNHRC for alleged human rights violations during the final stages of the Sri Lankan Civil War in 2009. Jayatilleka had been appointed for a two-year term but when his contract expired in June 2009 President Mahinda Rajapaksa extended his contract until June 2010. However, on 17 July 2009 the Foreign Ministry told him by fax to “relinquish [his] duties and return to Colombo on 20 August”. According to Jayatilleka no reason was given for his sacking but it was suggested that Sinhalese nationalists were unhappy with support for the implementation of the 13th Amendment.
This proves that MR’s fear of India developed after 17th July. Surely he could have killed 13 A in two months if he wanted to or intended to.
His valour, therefore, was driven by his alliance with so called “Sinhalese nationalists”. Soon he decided that he should let go this ‘fake love’ in order to achieve his personal goals, he sought the associaltion of Kalu Suddas, assuming his kingship now cemented , thanks to the ‘gratitude’ of Sinhalese.
No wonder his current die hard supporters are now hell bent against so called “Sinhalese nationalists”, trying destroying it completely.
So, these two cannot go together, namely ‘Sinhalese Nationalism’ and love of individuals and endless ‘gratitude’.
The Sinhala public , cannot be fooled anymore by stupid tactics, stupid arguments and ruthless threats.

Some thoughts on Leadership :
‘Endless Gratitude’ is a good thing.
That is part of a good Human Value System.
Tried and tested Trustworthiness in leaders is rare indeed.
Leaders must survive crises to serve further – that is common sense thinking.
Or else, next time around Lanka is in a tight spot, no one will be there to bail the country out ….
Lanka will be stuck with those ‘left over politicos’ who really do not care. No charisma to lead, no real ability …. only ‘Crash & Sell’ programs in their heads.
