Gotabaya is the saviour: Rathana Thera

MP Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera yesterday said SLPP presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa was the leader who can salvage the country from the abyss it has fallen into. The prelate, who joined Mr. Rajapaksa at the latter’s election rally which was held in Salgado Stadium in Anuradhapura, said the country yearns for a new leader who is not a traditional politician. ‘Gotabaya is the one who can take unwavering decisions against multinational companies which are behind the kidney disease plaguing the region,” he said. The prelate said security should be tightened around the country to put an end to the drug menace.
He said what people required was a pleasant country and not a concrete jungle. “It is Gotabaya who has the vision to develop the country in an environment-friendly manner. Therefore, all communities should come together to support Mr. Rajapaksa at the upcoming presidential election,” the Thera said.

It is better to state facts.
“Gotabaya is the one who can take unwavering decisions against multinational companies which are behind the kidney disease plaguing the region”.
Gotabaya has not said so anywhere. On the contrary, he promised to give away chemical fertilizer for free (by doing better than Mahinda who priced a bag of fertilizer at 350 rupees). A totally irresponsible promise which cannot be kept.
Gotabaya himself said so on the same platform!
That will only worsen kidney problems and completely destroy organic agriculture. It will make multinational agro companies astronomically richer.
Now who is correct – Gotabaya or Rathana? Strange Udaya was not there in Anuradhapura.”Hela Urumaya” has two rival camps within SLPP. Obviously their vote base is not going to grow. It will be divided between the two.

Whatever patriotism Ratana Thero displays now, I still hold him responsible for FOOLISHLY helping to DESTROY the Mahinda Rajapaksa Govt, the DEFENSIVE BULWARK of the Sinhala Buddhists of Lanka, in 2015.
His behaviour still reeks of the EGOISM he displayed in 2015!
Acceptance of Responsibility by Ratana Thero for hoisting the Yamapalanaya on the Nation and its People, should be accompanied by a CLEAR DISPLAY of REPENTANCE by intoning “Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea Maxima Culpa” in PUBLIC!
That would go a long way towards REHABILITATING him in my eyes!

Actually it is Sirisena who obliged to Ratana Thero and banned Glyposate ( but gave in to the pressure later). There was a marked drop in kidney decease , also because of the fact that people of aware of water issues and FO plants were also introduced few places. Navy is doing this as a business.
